This role will involve supporting people in emotional distress or needing somebody to talk to. This opportunity is ideal for those wanting to improve their listening skills. All training provided including mental health awareness and telephone listening. Gain personal satisfaction and a sense of achievement by experiencing the diversity of telephone support. Applications are encouraged from people who have had experience of mental distress or have an understanding of what mental distress may mean for others.
This role will involve supporting people in emotional distress or needing somebody to talk to. This role requires you to commit to supporting the line four evenings a month (8pm-11pm) and attending our monthly group supervision.
Mindline Trans +
Mindline call handlers will have the opportunity to volunteer for our Mindline Trans + helpline as a progression opportunity. You will need to attend Trans Awareness training. You will be offering emotional support to transgender people, their family and friends. Mindline Trans+ operates every Friday 8pm – 11pm. Minimum commitment for Mindline Trans+ 2 x 3hr shifts per month.
Person Specification
Essential:
PC / Laptop with good internet connection
Positive team-working skills
Flexible approach
Demonstrable IT knowledge/experience using Microsoft Packages
Willingness to learn (including independently) to extend their knowledge
Desirable:
Understanding of the need for good record keeping and GDPR

Responsibilities:

Oversee developing and implementing HR policies in line with organisational objectives.

Support, develop and guide the HR team in achieving monthly targets and deliverables.

Provide end-to-end leadership and support with all people-related activities within the organisation, such as recruitment, retention, well-being, and engagement.

Serve as a link between management and staff by handling questions, escalating enquiries, and resolving work-related queries.

Manage a team of HR Managers and Officers

Produce reports and surveys for C-Level Executives and Trustees.
This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
You will have:

At least six months experience in an HR managerial position or over 3 years of experience in an HR role.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Though we do not require you to be a native English speaker, you must be Fluent in English.

Ability to work within organisational targets.
-
IT Literacy, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.

An understanding of HR-related processes and legislation (such as The Equality Act 2010)

A CIPD qualification would be advantageous but is not essential depending on relevant experience.

Rape Crisis South London (RASASC) works in partnership with Rape Crisis England and Wales on the 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line. Support line volunteers provide telephone support, information and signposting to survivors of sexual violence aged 16+ across the country. We are open 24 hours a day. Shifts are 3 hours long and volunteers can choose which shift to sign up to, to fit in around any other commitments. We provide all our volunteers with an accredited training course from the Open College Network. For this next round of training we are actively recruiting women who are available to attend training during week days. All our training is online, and you can volunteer from home providing that you have a private quiet space to take calls in. The post is open to female applicants only as the role is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
