Key responsibilities include:

1. Working alongside your allocated outreach development officer in the facilitation of British Liver Trust patient support groups.

2. Setting up and facilitating both online and face to face support groups as agreed with your allocated outreach development officer.

3. Act as a point of contact for patients attending your allocated support groups.

4. Engaging with patients and families affected by liver disease through peer mentoring to inspire hope, build confidence and help people self- manage their condition.

5. Acting as a peer mentor supporting new individuals who are joining our support services.

As a Volunteer Creator & Collaborator Outreach Assistant, you will help raise awareness by building relationships, introducing suitable people to the platform and sharing Influential Stars within online and offline communities.

Every registered Collaborator receives a personalised A4 referral poster featuring their unique QR code and referral code. This means you can support the platform by distributing posters in appropriate locations, sharing your tracked referral details or speaking directly to people within your network. 

You can focus on poster distribution, digital outreach, community networking or a combination of all three. You do not need a large social media following or previous professional experience. 

Ways You Could Help 

● Display your personalised referral poster in workplaces, universities, cafés, gyms, salons, community centres, clubs and other suitable venues, with permission. 

● Ask local businesses and organisations to display your poster. ● Share your unique referral link, QR code and approved Influential Stars content online. 

● Add your referral link to your social media biography, email signature or appropriate community profiles. 

● Introduce Influential Stars within professional networks, university societies, local groups and community organisations. 

● Speak to friends, colleagues, business owners and community members who may make suitable Creators or Collaborators. 

● Attend networking events, community events or local activities and introduce people to the platform. 

● Encourage other people to register as Collaborators and begin sharing their own personalised referral poster. 

● Make FIT List nominations and inspire suitable people to use their influence for a meaningful cause. 

Key Responsibilities 

● Identify potential Creators, Collaborators and supporters. 

● Build relationships and introduce suitable individuals to Influential Stars.

● Explain the Creator and Collaborator opportunities clearly and accurately using approved information. 

● Encourage people to explore fundraising opportunities for causes they care about.

● Approach appropriate venues and request permission to display your personalised A4 poster.

Although this is currently a volunteer position, Influential Stars is actively working to grow the platform with the long term aim of creating paid roles. While we are unable to provide a timeframe and future opportunities will depend on the organisation’s growth and incoming work, this role offers the chance to be part of that journey from an early stage.

At One Degree, our mentors, ambassadors, and teachers are more than just volunteers—they’re lifelines for students often overlooked in their schools and communities. By offering direction, encouragement, and a sense of possibility, our volunteers transform lives while experiencing the profound reward of making a real, tangible impact.

Most of our mentors are young professionals, bringing passion, patience, and empathy to help GCSE/Year 11 students (ages 15–16) navigate their challenges. These volunteers serve as role models, guiding students who might otherwise feel left behind toward brighter futures.

To foster meaningful connections and provide continuity, we ask volunteers to commit to at least three in-person or online sessions per year. This ensures students build trust and form bonds with the people dedicated to helping them succeed.

Romanian-Speaking Community Support Volunteer

Role Overview

Europia is looking for a Romanian-speaking volunteer to support community sessions for the Salford Central and Eastern European Health Navigators Project.

The project supports Central and Eastern European residents in Salford who may face language, digital or other barriers when accessing health and community services.

The volunteer will help welcome people, provide Romanian language support and help residents use digital services. They will work alongside Europia staff to make sessions welcoming and accessible.

What the Role Will Involve

• Interpret between Romanian-speaking residents and Europia staff during community sessions.

• Help Romanian-speaking residents communicate with Europia staff. 

• Clearly interpret information provided by Europia staff.

• Translate short written information, messages and instructions between Romanian and English.

• Help check that translated information is clear and easy to understand.

• Welcome residents when they arrive at community sessions.

• Explain how the session works and who service users need to speak to.

• Help service users use mobile phones, websites, online forms and digital services.

• Help prepare the room before sessions and tidy the space afterwards.

• Support the general running of community sessions.

• Communicate information clearly, accurately and sensitively.

• Comply with Europia’s Data Protection Policy and keep personal and sensitive information private.

• Follow Europia’s safeguarding, data protection and professional boundaries procedures.

When

• Community sessions will run until March 2027.

• The project will normally hold one community session each week.

App Outreach Assistant 

�� App Promotion & Growth Volunteer – Help Grow Cystar ��

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive App Promotion & Growth Volunteer to help introduce Cystar to more people living with PMOS (previously PCOS/PCOD).

As an early-stage health-tech startup, growing our user community is a key priority. You’ll help spread awareness of Cystar, identify opportunities to promote the app, and support grassroots marketing efforts that encourage people to download, test, and share the platform.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in marketing, partnerships, community growth, or digital health who wants to make a real impact.

�� What You’ll Do

�� App Promotion

• Identify opportunities to promote Cystar across online communities, forums, and social media
• Share the app with relevant PCOS, women’s health, and wellbeing communities (where appropriate)
• Help increase awareness through organic marketing initiatives

�� User Growth

• Create campaigns to encourage new app downloads and registrations
• Help recruit new users to participate in app testing and provide feedback
• Identify new audiences and channels where Cystar could reach potential users

�� Partnerships & Outreach

• Research potential collaborations with universities, charities, healthcare organisations, influencers, and community groups
• Support outreach to organisations that align with Cystar’s mission
• Help identify opportunities to participate in awareness campaigns and community events

�� Growth Ideas

• Brainstorm creative, low-cost marketing and growth initiatives
• Monitor what is working and suggest improvements
• Share insights on emerging trends and opportunities within women’s health and digital health

• Is enthusiastic about marketing, community building, or business growth
• Has strong communication and networking skills
• Is confident reaching out to organisations and online communities
• Is proactive and enjoys finding creative ways to grow a product
• Has an interest in women’s health, digital health, or startups
• Enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-driven team

Previous experience in marketing, partnerships, business development, or community growth is helpful but not essential.

Flexible (around 5–10 hours per week). We’ll work around your availability.

We are looking for friendly volunteers to help grow AkiOke — a welcoming music club.

Social Media Volunteer

• Attending sessions help us with our social presence
• Help us share our story on Instagram & Facebook
• Support us in capturing the energy of the group

 Real-world experience in social media and content creation
 Hands-on photography and video skills

 Strong content for your CV or portfolio

Befriending Volunteer 

Would you like to offer companionship to someone who feels lonely, help them rebuild confidence, reconnect with their community, or simply brighten their week with a friendly chat? 

What do Befriending Volunteers do?

Our volunteers support older people (50+) who may be feeling lonely, isolated, or cut off from their usual activities. Volunteers help clients rebuild confidence, reconnect socially, and enjoy meaningful conversation. 

Support can take different forms depending on the client’s needs: 

Short-term Face-to-Face Support (up to 6 months) 

• Visiting someone regularly to help them work towards personal goals 

• Encouraging confidence to get out and about again 

• Supporting them to re-engage with interests, community groups, or social activities 

Long-term Befriending (for those most isolated) 

• Providing stable, ongoing social support 

• Regular facetoface or telephone companionship 

• Building a consistent and trusting relationship 

National Telephone Befriending 

• Offering friendly conversation over the phone 

• Providing regular social contact for people unable to meet in person 

This is a rewarding and varied volunteer role where every person you meet will be different — and you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference to their wellbeing.

Our volunteers tell us they find befriending incredibly fulfilling and often get as much from the relationship as the client does 

What is expected of me?

• We will talk you through each potential match before you decide to take it on 

• Most volunteers commit around 1–2 hours a week 

• Shortterm matches typically last up to 6 months; longterm befriending is ongoing 

• Time may be spent visiting someone at home, accompanying them to a local activity, or chatting with them by phone 

• Volunteers complete a short online training program and provide references 

• A DBS check will be required (provided at no cost) 

Who can volunteer?

If you are warm, friendly, patient, and enjoy chatting with people, this could be the role for you. You do not need any formal qualifications, just a desire to support someone who is feeling vulnerable or alone.

We’re looking for people who care deeply about social justice, community, and clothing circularity. We particularly welcome volunteers with lived experience of clothing poverty or hardship, whose insight helps us shape how we engage with and support others with dignity.

Community Ambassador

Help raise awareness locally, represent Sharewear at events, and inspire people to get involved.

Corporate Ambassador

Use your professional networks to open doors to partnerships, sponsorship, and clothing circularity opportunities.

Digital Ambassador

Use your online presence to amplify our message and help more people understand clothing poverty and its impact.
