About us
Who we are
Leatherhead Community Hub (LCH) is at the heart of a community in need, established to provide a space where people of all ages can connect, learn, have fun, and find the support they need to thrive. The Hub is safe, welcoming, accessible, and inclusive, with The Old Schoolhouse Café is at the heart of everything we do.
Our partnerships with local organisations and charities are key to how we operate, enabling us to offer a broad range of activities, including after-school sports, advice café, peer support groups, Foodbank, Community Fridge, community meals, family film nights and other community events such as a Christmas party, summer fun day, and much more, as well as our popular and affordable community café. Every week our site is alive with activities, most of which are free or heavily subsidised as we seek to support those most in need.
Our culture and values
Our values, which we co-created with partner organisations, express our commitment to treating everyone in the same welcoming and caring manner. We are:
People-centred: we care deeply about people and always put them first.
Open-hearted: we strive to be kind and welcoming, offering time, space and a listening ear to all.
Creatively-minded: we love finding new and imaginative ways for people to use, grow and share their gifts.
Community-led: we want to be shaped by the opportunities and ideas that come from within the community.
Faith-full: we believe the best of every person and are trustworthy and committed in all we do.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
At all times, people will be treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability and age.
Our staff and volunteers are made aware of these values, which are modelled by our leadership team, and our induction includes reference to our equalities, diversity and inclusion policy.
