Who we are

Open Door Exmouth is a community charity that creates safe, welcoming spaces where people can find support, connection and belonging. Founded by a local church in 1995, we have grown into a multi-service organisation supporting people of all ages, particularly those experiencing disadvantage, vulnerability, marginalisation or social isolation. Through practical support, community activities and opportunities for personal growth, we work to improve wellbeing, nurture hope and strengthen our community. Our six services include a Community Cafe, Support Service, Parent Hub, Youth Service, Craft Room and Men's Shed.

Open Door is a Christian charity motivated by love, compassion and a commitment to serve others. We welcome people of all faiths and none and are committed to providing inclusive, non-judgemental support to everyone who engages with our services. We believe every person has inherent value and a unique story that deserves to be heard and respected. Our work is shaped by listening, collaboration and a belief that people are experts in their own lives. We seek to work alongside service users rather than doing things to them or for them, valuing lived experience and recognising volunteers as an essential part of our community. We strive to build relationships based on dignity, trust and mutual respect, creating an environment where everyone can contribute, belong and flourish.
