Job description

* Please note this role is homebased with occasional travel within the UK

What you will be doing

· Arranging to talk with potential beneficiaries (via Microsoft Teams) at a mutually convenient time.

· Understanding peoples’ support needs and gathering information to assess their circumstances.

· Typing written case reports to apply for financial assistance Sign-posting to services providing specialist support, such as mental health or housing support.

· Working closely with the regional office and branch chair.

· Keeping beneficiaries and the SSAFA regional office up to date with progress.

The skills you need

· Friendly and approachable

· Great written and verbal communication skills

· Non-judgemental

· Reliable

· Basic IT skills, utilising Teams and O365 packages

· Great online research skills

· Ability to problem solve

What you need to know

· This role will be supporting casework across our Overseas branches, there will be no travel outside of the UK needed

· This role will be conducted remotely with support from the SSAFA Overseas Regional Office and the SSAFA Thailand branch chair

· You will need access to wifi and a PC/Laptop to be able to connect to Microsoft Teams (provided by SSAFA).

You may occasionally travel in the UK to meet with the SSAFA Regional Office Team – Travel expenses are provided.
