Who we are

A community-driven organisation, our mission at Remakery Oxford is to foster a circular economy approach to waste in Oxford. Through creativity, skill-sharing and collaboration, we transform waste into art and function, providing an antidote to fast fashion and single-use culture.

Our focus is to help shift mindsets around sustainability, consumption and top-down mass production.  Through workshops, talks and podcasts, we encourage experimentation, social innovation and education, driving forward the idea that anyone can curate art, function and fashion with minimal planetary impact.

Our next goal is to establish a studio for those who lack the space and tools to work independently. With the support of our volunteer team we hope to provide a collaborative space in exchange for skills sharing in the community.

Where we are now

We have run several successful events and have developed a modest but engaged follower base. We currently have a small but well-established volunteer team alongside a growing newsletter community and a few established local partnerships. 

What we have achieved:

- Two successful Upcycle fairs

- A variety of workshops (e.g., upcycled jewellery, jeans-to-totes, low-impact film development).

- Built a community of remakers and trash artists

We are keen to explore new activities, circularity at their core, that can maximise our impact in Oxford.

What we need help with

We have flexible volunteer opportunities for anyone who shares our passion for circularity and is willing to uphold our values. It may suit you if you work part time, are out of work, are retired, on parental leave or are a student. There's no minimum time commitment.

We are looking for volunteers in these areas:

Running Events - Creative types who want to run workshops and other events themed around circularity, reuse, repair and reimagination.

Marketing, Content & Outreach - Social Media, Creative Writing, Video Editing, Infographics, Event Promotion.

Organising Events - Planning, Promoting, Venues, Flyers, Coordinating attendance.

Community & Partnerships - University, Families, Schools, Artists & Makers, Corporate Outreach, Fundraising Support.

Tech & Digital - Website creation and management, eCommerce setup, launch and support.

Circular Projects - Local grower & composter roles, waste hub, circular systems experiments.

We have roles which can be handled remotely as well as in person.

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. REMIX is a brand new, dynamic UK youth charity launching in London, focused on transforming the lives of young people aged 11-26 from deprived areas, initially across Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and Southwark. We believe that postcode shouldn't determine potential.

Our mission is to REMIX young people's lives by providing targeted Mentoring, essential Life Skills, and powerful Personal Development programmes. We are building momentum and need striking, professional visual assets to convey our mission, attract crucial funding, and recruit programme participants and volunteers.

The Role: Remixing Our Visual Identity

We are seeking a talented and passionate Volunteer Graphic Designer to join our founding team. You will be instrumental in translating our powerful mission into compelling visual assets that elevate our profile and help us secure vital support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Campaign Asset Creation: Designing graphics for ongoing campaigns, including volunteer recruitment, fundraising drives, and programme promotion across social media (Instagram, X, LinkedIn).

• Portfolio: A portfolio or examples of previous work demonstrating strong typography, layout, and visual communication skills.

• Reliability: The ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and meet agreed-upon deadlines within a flexible schedule.

• Communication: Excellent communication skills to take briefs and provide creative updates remotely.

• Passion: A genuine passion for youth development, social mobility, and the mission of REMIX. Experience working with youth or community organisations is a bonus, but not essential.

Who are we looking for?

At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach and part of that journey is to work on various platforms in new and creative ways, one of which will be Substack.

If you enjoy writing blogs or newsletters, are able to tell stories in an engaging way, this is the role for you.

This would include writing a weekly “point of view” piece that focuses on an area that Living Reasons engages in, whether this is research data reporting, lived experience storytelling or news highlight pieces.

Additionally to writing posts, you may also want to work with the social media coordinator to create video posts or even look at creating a podcast for the charity, the options are limitless as at Living Reasons, we encourage the entire team to bring ideas to the table and empower you to run with them, with the support of the organisation.

What is the plan?

The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.

Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

Rural Watch Africa Initiative (RUWAI) We restore degraded landscapes and empower rural communities with sustainable agriculture, beekeeping, and green livelihoods.

RUWAI tackles the urgent, interconnected challenges of deforestation, climate change vulnerability, and rural poverty in Africa. Many rural communities rely on unsustainable practices like slash-and-burn farming and illegal logging, leading to widespread land degradation, soil depletion, and increased desertification. This vulnerability, coupled with limited resources and high unemployment, forces many—especially youth and women—into destructive practices, worsening food insecurity and biodiversity loss, including the rapid decline of critical pollinators like bees.

RUWAI employs a holistic, community-driven solution focusing on Sustainable Agroforestry and Land Restoration through large-scale tree planting and Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR). They promote Sustainable Beekeeping to protect pollinators and create an alternative income source, and train smallholder farmers in Climate-Smart Agriculture and regenerative techniques to boost food security. Furthermore, RUWAI focuses on Economic Empowerment by creating green livelihoods through agro-processing, eco-tourism, and microfinance, with a special focus on empowering women. Public Relations

Rural Watch Africa Initiative (RUWAI) is a nonprofit organization empowering rural communities across Nigeria through sustainable agriculture, climate action, ecosystem restoration, youth development, and community resilience. We aim to reduce poverty, promote environmental stewardship, and build climate-smart livelihoods in some of Africa’s most vulnerable regions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Communication Officer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to use storytelling, media engagement, and strategic communication to drive social and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness of RUWAI’s work. Create compelling content (articles, social media posts, newsletters, press releases, donor reports). Manage and grow RUWAI’s social media platforms and online presence. Support the design and dissemination of impact stories, campaign materials, and advocacy content. Liaise with media, partners, and stakeholders to promote RUWAI’s initiatives. Assist in organizing communication for events, project launches, and campaigns. Ideal Candidate: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in social media management, content creation, event planning, fundraising, journalism. Knowledge of environmental and rural development issues is a plus. Graphic design, photography, or video editing skills are an advantage. Committed to RUWAI’s mission and able to volunteer 5–10 hours per week.

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

Be Enriched is seeking an inspirational Chairperson to lead our Board of Trustees and guide our next phase of strategic growth. We use food as a tool to bring people together, cultivate joy and dignity whilst fighting food waste and nourishing the community.

What will you be doing?

The Chair plays a pivotal role in guiding the board, ensuring the charity is governed effectively and remains true to our vision and mission. With an inclusive leadership style, the Chair will foster a collaborative atmosphere within the board, while offering both support and constructive challenge to the CEO. Additionally, the Chair serves as a passionate ambassador for the charity, representing its values and goals.

What are we looking for?

Essential Qualities

• Proven experience as a trustee, with a passion for governance and making a difference - prior Chair experience is welcome but not required.
• A keen sense of strategic purpose.
• An inclusive leadership style.
• The ability to listen and engage. Comfortable with challenge and debate and can encourage that in others whist fostering a collaborative board environment. 
• Advocate – be able and willing to champion Be Enriched’s work through personal networks, social media, and other channels.
• A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

• Be proactive and responsive – as a small charity, there are times when issues arise that require the Chair's guidance, support, or approval.

MINDSET Charity is a brand-new, UK-wide men's mental wellbeing and personal growth organisation dedicated to tackling the mental health crisis among men aged 16-50 years old. We're building a vital, remote-first brotherhood of support, resources, and mentoring, and we need an artistic visionary to bring our brand to life.

We have an AI-generated concept for our logo, but we need YOUR expert eye and design prowess to transform it into a professional, impactful, and versatile brand identity. This isn't just about creating a pretty picture; it's about giving MINDSET a face that resonates, inspires, and stands for hope and growth.

The tragedy of male suicide in the UK demands action. We refuse to be invisible. Our visual brand needs to cut through the noise, convey our unique blend of support and growth, and appeal directly to men aged 16-50 across the UK.

As our founding Volunteer Graphic Designer, you will be the creative force behind our entire visual presence. This is a hands-on, highly autonomous remote role requiring a keen eye for branding, a passion for design, and the ability to translate our mission into compelling visuals.

Who We Need to Poke:

We're seeking an experienced, proactive Graphic Designer with:

• Exceptional Design Skills: Proven experience in logo design, brand development, and creating engaging visual assets.

• Brand Builder: Ability to take an initial concept and develop it into a comprehensive brand identity with colour palettes, typography, and visual elements.

• Guideline Guru: Expertise in creating detailed Brand Guidelines to ensure consistency across all our communications.

• Versatile Creative: Capable of designing a wide range of assets, including:

  • Final Logo Suite: In various formats (vector, web, print) for diverse applications.

  • Social Media Templates: Engaging visuals for posts, stories, and campaigns.

  • Marketing Collateral: Roller banners, flyers, and promotional booklets.

  • Website Assets: Branded banners, icons, and imagery.

  • Volunteer Resources: Branded manuals and internal documents.

  • Business Stationery: Letterheads, email signatures, etc.

• Remote Work Savvy: Comfortable collaborating remotely, managing your own workflow, and meeting deadlines.

• Mission-Driven: A genuine passion for men's mental health and personal growth, understanding our target audience.

What You Will Deliver:

• A Brand Identity: A fully developed logo and comprehensive Brand Guidelines that define MINDSET's visual language, based on the logo we have already created.

• Launch-Ready Assets: A suite of high-quality graphic assets for our immediate launch needs across digital and print.
