We're excited to be recruiting a brand new PR & Communications Specialist to play a vital role in amplifying the mission and activities of The Great Friendship Project, on a voluntary basis.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause, gain hands-on experience in marketing and social media management for a non-profit, and make a positive impact on the lives of young people struggling with loneliness.

Key Responsibilities:

- Media Relations & Outreach: Establish and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers. Craft press releases, pitch compelling stories, and secure media coverage to enhance the visibility of our organisation and its mission.

- Media Monitoring & Reporting: Track media coverage and social media interactions, monitor public perception, and prepare regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of our PR activities. Use insights to refine strategies and enhance our communication efforts.

- Collaborative Support: Work closely with the project team and volunteers to ensure that PR efforts are aligned with upcoming events and key organisational milestones. Provide communication support to other team members as needed.

What are we looking for?

• Passionate about the project's mission and committed to making a difference in combating loneliness among young adults.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently.

The role

The overall role of a trustee with financial experience is to maintain an overview of the organisation’s affairs, including its financial affairs, ensure its financial viability and ensure that proper financial records, controls and procedures are maintained.

In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, duties include:

● Financial oversight of the charity – being assured that the financial resources of the organisation meet its present and future needs.

● Overseeing and reviewing the preparation of the charity’s annual budget. Then presenting the budget to the Board for approval.

● Reviewing the quarterly management accounts and annual financial statements and presenting to the Board for approval in collaboration with the CEO and Finance and Operations Manager.

● Ensuring that the charity has an appropriate reserves policy.

● Ensuring that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.

● Liaising with any paid staff and external accountants about financial matters.

● Advising on the financial implications of the organisation’s strategic plans.

● Ensuring that the annual financial statements are prepared and disclosed in the form required by funders and the relevant statutory bodies, for example the Charity Commission.

● Ensuring external scrutiny of the financial statements in the manner required and any recommendations are implemented.

● Keeping the board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities.

● Contributing to the fundraising strategy of the organisation.

● Sitting on appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary panels as required.

● Lead oversight of the risk register to ensure that the risk mitigating actions are appropriate and being undertaken

● To act as the lead person for staff to raise in confidence any concerns about fraud.

About you

In addition to the person specification of a trustee, duties of the trustee with financial experience include:

● Financial qualifications and experience within the charity sector

● Extensive experience at setting and managing budgets.

● Some experience fundraising, income generation and pension scheme.

● Alignment with Sounddelivery Media’s mission.

● Supporting the board to make decisions relating to the financial health of the charity

● Providing appropriate oversight at operational level

● The skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences

● A willingness and ability to devote the necessary time

● A willingness to learn and carry out the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of charity trusteeship

Stronger You Aims to make sure that every person has access to some kind of mental health support when they need, especially in this time when waiting lists are at the highest.

We provide workshops in Southampton as well as online blogs, videos and support that give tangible advice and support that anyone can use at any time,.

As operations manager you will be supporting Stronger You's founder to run the day-to-day operations, help fund raise for the charity And support on communications such as Creating newsletters and looking after the social media.

Although we are based in Southampton This role will be done online As the majority of the work will be to support the founder plan, fundraising and help communicate. We would require a couple of hours a day, which is completely flexible and negotiable.

Responsibilities of the role will be to:

Work with the founder to develop and create fundraising strategies and applications for new and interesting projects.

Work with the founder to develop both the online and off-line projects as well as help secure volunteers and staff of those projects.

Work with fan to develop and create communication strategies, including creation of a newsletter and regular posting to social media networks.

Support the founder in general admin, such as answering emails, creating appointments and more.

Work with the founder to make sure that all the requirements are complete such as report writing, questionnaire making In receipt collecting is done to a timely manner.
