What is the role of a Community Volunteer?
Some of the things you can do as a community volunteer:
- Help us to share our story – arrange and give Mary’s Meals talks to local community organisations, schools, churches and faith groups to raise vital awareness and funds
- Use your networks and contacts to book talks, stalls and events and help us share our story
- Organise fundraising events in your local area such as coffee mornings, quizzes, supermarket bag packs and bucket collections
- Organise film screenings in your community to show Mary’s Meals films
- Volunteer at local fundraising and awareness events such as film screenings, bucket collections or concerts
- Promote Mary’s Meals’ fundraising campaigns and events in your community and across their networks and contacts
- Distribute and display promotional materials
- Place collection tins in local community areas
- Host community engagement events about Mary’s Meals’ work
- Come together as a group with other local volunteers to support each other with this work
- Lead a group in your community to fundraise for Mary’s Meals

We’re looking for an Assembly chair who is motivated by playing a leading role in maximising the potential of the whole CPRE community to strengthen its voice and activities for the benefit of the countryside.
The Assembly meets quarterly, usually mid-week, for about three hours. The meetings are held online. There’ll be preparation and liaising to undertake ahead of meetings, so we expect this role will require a time commitment of half a day a week, two to three days a month.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced and highly professional CSR and Corporate Engagement Coordinator to help us build meaningful relationships with companies that share our values.
This role is ideal for someone who understands corporate social responsibility and corporate partnerships, and who enjoys creating a clear plan, prospecting the right organisations, and making warm, well-targeted approaches that lead to long-term supporters.
What you will do
- Create a simple, realistic CSR and corporate engagement plan aligned to our charity’s priorities
- Research and prospect companies that are a strong fit (values, location, ESG and CSR themes, staff networks, giving mechanisms)
- Identify the best route in (decision makers, community teams, CSR leads, foundations, staff networks)
- Prepare outreach messages and partnership propositions (for example: sponsorship, staff fundraising, payroll giving, match funding, volunteering, in-kind support)
- Working with our Operational Director, you will make and manage initial approaches, follow-ups, and relationship building in a professional way
- Keep clear records of activity, contacts, and next steps in a tracker
- Work with the Operational Director to shape partnership offers and ensure a consistent voice and messaging
Who we’re looking for
Essential
- Strong experience in CSR, corporate partnerships, business development, or corporate fundraising
- Confident in creating and delivering a prospecting and engagement plan
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a professional and warm approach
- Able to represent a charity well with senior stakeholders

The Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly organised, and proactive Volunteer Events Coordinator to manage activity experiences awarded to campaign winners and support the development of new partnerships.
This is a key operational role ensuring experiences run smoothly from planning through to completion, while also helping to secure activity sponsors for monthly charitable campaigns.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage activity bookings for campaign winners through partner providers

Liaise directly with creators and winners to arrange meet and greet experiences

Collect availability from winners for experiences booked on their behalf

Confirm bookings, manage logistics, and communicate details clearly to all parties

Send reminders and follow ups to ensure experiences proceed as planned

Support post event engagement, including encouraging appropriate social sharing

Build and maintain strong relationships with activity providers

Proactively identify, approach, and secure activity providers willing to sponsor experiences for monthly charitable prize draws (ideally one per month)

Assist in developing long term partnerships with activity sponsors and collaborators

Organise security arrangements when required through approved security partners

Maintain accurate records of bookings, communications, and outcomes using our CRM management system. Experience using a CRM or similar database is required. We currently use HubSpot, which would be advantageous, although not essential as training will be provided.

About the Role:
As our Founding Fundraising Director, you will be the strategic and operational engine behind all fundraising initiatives. Your work will directly fuel the organisation’s ability to reach and serve survivors, mentor young people into economic empowerment, and build sustainable, community-owned systems. You will lead campaigns, develop partnerships, and create innovative fundraising strategies that align with our anti-capitalist, community-first values. - Direct individuals to the correct pathways and resources, including donation routes, volunteer onboarding, VFAP (Violence-Free Action Pathway), podcast submissions, and approved support information.
- Identify and flag safeguarding concerns immediately to the appropriate role, ensuring that potential risk is not held in engagement channels.
- Escalate high-risk messages using agreed protocols, prioritising urgent or concerning disclosures, threats, harassment, or boundary breaches.
- Help maintain comment spaces that are respectful and free from harassment, minimisation, victim-blaming, grooming behaviour, or abusive language, taking action in line with moderation guidance.
- Support healthy engagement by encouraging constructive dialogue, de-escalating where appropriate, and reinforcing community standards without argument or defensiveness.

About this key role
As a Peer Volunteer, you will increase client engagement with drug and alcohol treatment services by providing vital peer-led support and building trust and motivation among a client group that has been historically disengaged/not offered support previously. You will provide holistic, short-term intervention to bridge the gap between referral and full treatment engagement, capture client experiences and barriers to improve service design and accessibility and develop a strong service user voice to inform future service improvements.
Areas of support from Peer Volunteers may also include initial engagement and motivation such as welcome calls, check-ins, peer-led conversations and motivational chats over coffee. You may also offer practical support such as appointment reminders, transport assistance and paperwork support, plus help to build positive routines such as activity-based engagement and supporting small lifestyle changes, including meal planning, budgeting, and time management.
What we are looking for
- Personal experience of the criminal justice system or lived experience of the issues facing this client group (i.e. experience of substance misuse and recovery)
- Proven experience of working in a high intensity environment, being self-motivating, with an ability to effectively manage your own wellbeing
- Knowledge of the issues facing those arrested for potential criminal offences
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, safeguarding practices and policies
- The ability to use monitoring systems to record all aspects of the work
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.
