Jumble Sales Organiser Volunteer
Would you like to raise funds, have fun and join a super team of volunteers who together make our Jumble Sales in Thatcham a great success? As Jumble Sales Organiser you would be helping to make everything run smoothly for the team.
Time Expectations: 1 Saturday every other month (plus preparations)
This could be a shared role and tasks may include:
· Booking the hall for future Jumbles
· Contacting the Jumble team before events to check availability
· Set up stalls, running a stall and packing away at the end
· Collecting any items/resources needed from the centre the day before
Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We are looking for brilliant HR professionals who want to help Pregnant Then Screwed tackle the Motherhood Penalty by becoming a Volunteer HR Advisor.
Our Volunteer Advisors give around 1-2 hours a week of their time to the Advice Line. They use their HR knowledge to offer a kind, empathetic support and advice to help people to identify and challenge pregnancy and maternity discrimination in the workplace.
About the role
Role Title: Volunteer HR Advisor

Time Commitment
The Advice Line is open Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm, with various available shifts during those times. We ask volunteers to give 1-2 hours per week on the Advice Line for a minimum of three months.
Alternative time commitments can be considered and discussed as part of your application, so please do include any information that might be useful in your application form.
Main Role Purpose
The Advice Line HR Advisors play a vital role in providing support and guidance to working parents facing unfair treatment or discrimination in the workplace via our advice line. Volunteers will offer advice, listen empathetically, and provide information about employee rights and available resources. This role is critical in empowering parents to make informed decisions and navigate workplace challenges effectively.
Essential requirements
- Minimum CIPD level 5 Diploma in People Management with one professional reference.
- Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and policies related to pregnancy, maternity leave, and discrimination.
- Access to a mobile phone/laptop/tablet to receive calls. You will not be charged for calls and your number will not be shared.
- Access to a reliable and secure WIFI connection. Public WIFI is not suitable for this role.
- Excellent active and empathetic listening skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
- A kind and welcoming telephone manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Comfortable using online communication tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls to the PTS Advice Line from individuals seeking support and advice.
- Listen actively, empathise, and provide HR advice and guidance to support callers with their enquiries.
- Signpost to further information and other support organisations if necessary.
- Make referrals to our legal partner if required.
- Record all details of the call on our CRM system.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions, adhering to all Pregnant Then Screwed guidelines and policies.

What happens when you apply
We are currently accepting applications on a rolling basis so there is no deadline to apply, however we may have to close the application window temporarily if we receive a large number of applications.
Application stages:
1. Apply online using the link on this page.
2. Application review. The PTS staff team will review your application. If suitable, you will be invited to join us for an introduction call. If we can not proceed with your application we will let you know why. Please allow up to four weeks for us to respond to your application.
3. Introduction call. This will be a 15-30 minute call online (via Google Meet) with a Support Services staff member. We’ll ask you a few questions about your application to find out more about you, as well as answering any questions you have. We’ll also get your consent to contact your referee.
4. Online training and reference check. The team will get you set up on our Volunteer Training Hub so that you can complete your online induction training. This can be done at your own pace, and we’ll check in with you after a month if it’s still not completed. We’ll also request a reference from your referee.
5. Group Induction. Once you’ve completed your online training and we’ve received a satisfactory reference, you’ll be invited to join a group induction. Inductions are hosted online at least once a month and give you a chance to meet other volunteers (new and long-standing) and ask questions.
6. Ready to roll! You’ll now be ready to volunteer, so we’ll set you up on our calling system and book in your first shift.
7. One month check in. The team will always be available, but after your first month we’ll check in to make sure everything is going ok and that you’re happy in your new volunteer role.

Advisory Panel Members are appointed for one year, attending a minimum of 2 meetings (one in person and one virtual). Their role is to help steer the charity to ensure that no one should die of histiocytosis and to represent patients and professionals in the histiocytosis field. Role Summary.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Podcast Producer to support the planning and delivery of the Firmly Rooted Podcast. You will be responsible for planning and booking studio recording sessions, managing post production editing, and working closely with the host and other team members to make this the no #1 podcast for Muslim university students.

blink is a small volunteer-powered organisation with three trustees, around 150 volunteers, and no paid staff. We’re growing, both in reach and in ambition, and we’re looking to expand our Trustee board to help guide us through this next chapter.

Free, instant-access talking therapy with a fully-qualified therapist Up to 50-minutes with an experienced therapist who can support and guide people in the ways that feel most useful to them - like signposting, giving advice or simply offering an open, non-judgemental space to talk.
A calm, inclusive space to chill out and chat openly Whether festival-goers want a quiet space to switch off and nap, a place to connect with others, to explore the benefits of therapy or share the emotional weight they’re carrying, or just a safe-haven for a while – our bell tents are ready. Lined with comfortable bean bags and cosy blankets, we create the perfect environment to relax in.
Mindfulness activities facilitated by volunteers Puzzles and colouring books are available to unwind from the busy-ness outside. Our Wellbeing Support Volunteers are always available to have conversations, book therapy sessions, and signpost those who may be struggling or need some extra support.
Long term blink aims
Our work at festivals is hugely successful, and we are changing hundreds of lives a year. In the future, we hope to build on this experience and success by developing a programme of pop-up mental health workshops, events and free personalised therapy in other settings across the country.
Time Commitment

Lead Safeguarding Trustee Purpose of the Role
The Lead Safeguarding Trustee plays a pivotal role in ensuring that blink upholds the highest standards of safeguarding for everyone it works with, including volunteers and members of the public. This trustee leads the Board's oversight of safeguarding policies, practices, and culture, ensuring that safeguarding remains a priority for the charity.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Oversight: Champion safeguarding in all blink’s activities, ensuring the charity maintains a proactive and preventative approach to safeguarding risks. Advise the Board on safeguarding trends, risks, and implications for strategic decision making.
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure that blink complies with all relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice in safeguarding. Work closely with other trustees and key volunteers to ensure safeguarding governance arrangements are robust and effective.
• Culture & Accountability: Champion a positive culture of safety, wellbeing and inclusion, where transparency, learning, and continuous improvement in safeguarding practice is encouraged. Support the blink team to ensure safeguarding is embedded in service delivery, policy, recruitment, and training.
• Risk & Incident Management: Work closely with key volunteers to provide appropriate support, challenge and scrutiny regarding how safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported, escalated, and managed. Monitor safeguarding reports and trends, ensuring that systemic risks are identified and mitigated.
• Support & Collaboration: Act as a point of contact for other trustees on safeguarding matters. Engage with external stakeholders, regulators, or legal advisors when appropriate to ensure the charity is responding appropriately to safeguarding challenges. Experience:
