Vauxhall City Farm is one of the oldest and most centrally located city farms in London, but we offer far more than a traditional farm experience. We are a sanctuary in the heart of the city - providing life-changing opportunities for individuals and communities across some of London’s most disadvantaged boroughs, while also offering a safe, welcoming and inclusive green space for all.
Each year, we welcome around 60,000 visitors, including 7,000 children and young people from local schools and colleges who participate in workshops and educational activities, alongside over 50,000 members of the wider community who engage with our mobile farm, volunteering, training, development programmes and outreach initiatives.
We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our Board of Trustees, helping to shape the future direction, governance and long-term sustainability of the charity.
As a Trustee, you will work collaboratively with fellow Board members and the leadership team, providing strategic guidance, constructive challenge and support across key areas of the organisation’s work.
We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring skills and experience in the following areas: fundraising, marketing and communications, safeguarding, volunteering, community engagement, and health and safety.
Joining our Board offers diverse and challenging opportunities for those passionate about shaping the charity’s future. As a Trustee, you’ll have the chance to contribute your ideas and influence at Board meetings and stakeholder events.

LAH is a community-led charity driven by and for Latin Americans in the UK. For decades, we have been supporting Latin American and other Spanish and Portuguese-speaking migrants, championing their rights, wellbeing, and inclusion. We are a small, close-knit team with big ambitions, and everything we do is rooted in the lived experiences of the communities we serve. Our work takes place across London and at our community centre in Kilburn, North West London.
About the role
This is a voluntary, non-executive governance role with a time commitment of just 2 to 3 hours per month. As Finance Trustee, you will Chair our Finance and Fundraising Sub-Committee, providing board-level oversight of LAH's financial health: reviewing management accounts, scrutinising budgets and forecasts, ensuring our financial controls are robust, and supporting the wider Board of Trustees at Latin American House to understand financial risk and sustainability.
You will work closely with LAH Director and finance team, contributing to the approval of annual accounts and budgets, and ensuring we meet our Charity Commission and Companies House obligations.
This is strategic oversight, not day-to-day operations - the hands-on finance work stays with our staff.

What we are looking for
You will have a direct Latin American background, this is a requirement of LAH's governing documents, alongside experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, or financial management. You will be able to translate financial concepts clearly for non-finance trustees, bring sound judgement and analytical thinking, and be comfortable in an organisation where systems are still growing and developing.
You do not need prior trustee or charity experience. What matters is integrity, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine commitment to the communities LAH serves.

Time commitment
Trustees are expected to read all Board papers in advance of meetings and come prepared to contribute. In addition, trustees may receive requests for information or decisions between meetings and are expected to respond in a timely manner: we anticipate that in addition to the meetings outlined above, trustees will need to spend between 2-4 hours per month contributing to CVSCE governance.

About the Role
Baobab Foundation operates through two closely connected Community Benefit Societies: the By and For Community Fund, which is the registered charitable entity, and the By and For Foundation, which is the non-charitable entity. Together, these two legal entities provide the structural flexibility needed to advance Baobab’s mission for radical racial justice.
Baobab is governed by a Board of Trustees, who are responsible for ensuring that the organisation operates in a way that advances racial justice, centres Black and Global Majority communities, and remains rooted in Baobab’s values of Unity, Justice and Freedom.
Trustees work in partnership with the PT (Project Team) and Baobab’s members. The PT Team leads the day-to-day coordination and delivery of Baobab’s operational activities, while trustees focus on governance and collective accountability. Together, trustees, PT team and members each play distinct but complementary roles in ensuring that Baobab remains values-led, member-centred and effective in advancing its mission for radical racial justice.

Remuneration
In line with its status as a charitable BenCom, By and For Community Fund trustees serve in a voluntary, unpaid capacity. Who We Are Looking For:
It Takes A Village Crystal Palace CIC is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in fundraising strategy, income generation, and donor engagement. The ideal person will have experience identifying diverse funding streams, developing long-term sustainability plans, and advising grassroots or community-led organisations.
Project Brief:
It Takes A Village has grown organically over the last four years, supporting hundreds of families in the Crystal Palace area. Until now, the organisation has relied on small donations from service users and one-off grants. To secure its future, the team is now looking to design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that will sustain and grow its core services.
This project will include:
- Identifying and evaluating new funding opportunities, including grants but particularly partnerships, corporate sponsorships, and community-based fundraising
- Designing a strategic fundraising plan that creates a clear roadmap towards financial resilience and long-term sustainability
- Mentoring and guiding senior leadership team and their advisory panel of community volunteers, empowering them to take ownership of future fundraising

It Takes A Village is an inclusive postnatal peer support community run by local mother and Breastfeeding Peer Supporter Emily Harper, and supported by expert practitioners. Their mission is to nurture the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of families from birth and beyond. The organisation provides restorative mum and baby meet-ups, provides community infant feeding support, workshops, and inclusive family events across South East London.
Your impact:
This role is vital in helping It Takes A Village strengthen its financial foundations, safeguard its services, and continue providing free, inclusive support to families feeling anxious, exhausted or isolated due to parenting. By building a reliable and strategic fundraising model, It Takes A Village can continue to empower parents, reduce isolation, and create a supportive local network that boosts community wellbeing.

The difference you will make to cats and people
Every penny counts when it comes to improving the lives of the thousands of cats and kittens across the UK that need our help each year. Our collection box fundraising volunteers help our volunteer groups raise vital funds by collecting and distributing collection boxes in their local area. Making a difference can mean as little as raising 20p, which is enough to feed one cat in our care for a day, to £150 which is the average cost of a cat in our care.

The Opportunity

Guided directly by the CEO, you will work together to ensure our diverse services run smoothly, remain on time, and stay within budget. This rewarding role offers high-level operations management experience within the charity sector, allowing you to act as a central pillar across our entire organisation.
What You Will Do
As part of a dual-lead operational team, your role will span a range of business and project administration duties:
- Programme Delivery: Jointly manage and deliver community hub programmes (90% of which are free), ranging from our Homeschooling Hub to After-School and Holiday Clubs.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Support staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders, ensuring the team remains timely, professional, and kind during service delivery.
- CEO Support: Coordinate directly with the CEO to manage workflows, schedule essential meetings, and align project timelines.
- Human Resources: Assist with tracking volunteer onboarding records and training schedules.
- Fundraising Support: Help track grant applications and coordinate local fundraising events.
- Communications & Social Media: Create engaging content using Canva and manage our active social media profiles to promote hub activities.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Skills:
- Tech Literacy: Mastery of the full Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in Canva to create engaging social media and marketing graphics.
- Communication: Warm, professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Organisation: Strong time management, budget awareness, and the ability to manage diverse administrative tasks
Desirable Criteria:
- Driving License: A clean, valid UK driving license is highly preferred.
- Background Checks: A current Enhanced DBS check is ideal, though we can arrange this for you.
Commitment & Flexibility
We require a combined commitment across our core office days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with online remote workflows on Tuesday and Friday.
