Job description

Help us spread sunshine by sharing stories, creating simple content, and raising awareness of our mission.

If you enjoy creativity, social media, or telling meaningful stories, this role is a lovely fit.

About the Role

As our Marketing & Social Media Volunteer, you’ll help SUNSHINE reach more people by creating friendly, engaging content for our social media channels and community platforms. You don’t need professional experience — just enthusiasm, creativity and a willingness to help.

This is a flexible, low‑pressure role where small contributions make a big difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Creating simple posts for Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn.

  • Sharing stories about our volunteers, activities and impact.

  • Helping raise awareness of loneliness and how SUNSHINE supports people.

  • Designing simple graphics using Canva or via our Graphic Design Volunteers.

  • Supporting campaigns and events with promotional posts.

  • Helping keep our online presence warm, positive and active.

You won’t be responsible for managing staff, running paid ads, or handling complex marketing strategy.

What You Don’t Need

  • Marketing qualifications.

  • Professional design skills.

  • Charity experience.

  • A big time commitment.

We welcome anyone who enjoys creativity and wants to help a good cause.

Time Commitment

1–3 hours per week, fully flexible. Can be done entirely remotely.

What You’ll Gain

  • Experience in charity marketing and communications.

  • Social media and content‑creation skills.

  • Confidence using simple design tools.

  • A friendly team and ongoing support.

  • The chance to help reduce loneliness by raising awareness.

Ideal For

  • Creative people who enjoy social media.

  • Students, career‑changers, retirees.

  • Anyone wanting experience in marketing or communications.

  • Someone who loves sharing positive stories.

How to Apply

If you’d like to use your creativity to help SUNSHINE grow and reach more people, we’d love to hear from you.
