We are seeking a Receptionist for our Yate office.
This is an important role which involves greeting clients and adding their details to our database.
The rewarding position will be of great help to our charity – which provides free, independent and confidential advice to anyone who needs it in South Gloucestershire.
The charity is particularly keen to encourage applications from people with a diverse range of backgrounds. This is especially the case for people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds who are currently under-represented.
The service aims to provide high-quality advice to members of the public. It also aims to influence Governments and other organisations by informing them of the effect of their actions on the lives of clients.
The role involves:
- supporting our team of Advisers
- greeting clients and adding their details to our database for use by our Advisers
- adhering to Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire’s vision, mission and values which includes offering a free and confidential advice service
You will have:
- strong attention to detail
- IT competence (essential)
- a friendly, approachable manner
- respect for views, values and cultures which are different to your own

Applicants should be able to commit to a three-hour session each week for at least six months. Full training will be provided.

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £13 million a year to run our care services.
Join us as a Reception Volunteer at our Black Country Hospice in Walsall!
As an Reception Volunteer you'll be:
- Greeting all visitors, ensuring they sign in securely, feel welcomed and are passed over to the appropriate staff member
- Taking phone call messages to pass on to staff
- Signing post enquiries to the correct department
- Assisting general administration duties such as filing, scanning or checking stock deliveries
- With additional training taking donations and completing appropriate paperwork
How much time will it take?
We are looking for volunteers who are available to cover Thursdays at 2:30 pm till 5.00pm
We are also seeking volunteers who can work weekends only, with flexible hours. Please specify your preferred weekend shift on the application form.

As a reception/admin volunteer, you'll be the welcoming face of Tŷ Hafan, tackling a variety of exciting admin tasks and projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable office experience or to share your existing skills, all whilst supporting an important cause.
Considerations:
Location: Ty Hafan Children's Hospice, Hayes Road, Sully, CF64 5XX
Hours: Monday AM/PM, Thursday AM/Pm, Friday AM/PM
Age requirement: 18+
Background checks: we will ask you to provide us with 2 references and a basic DBS check is required for this role.
This role is perfect for someone who is friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and works well as part of a team.
Confidence speaking on the phone and using the pc/laptop are required for this role.
Activities include:
• Support the Facilities Team with essential admin tasks
• Organise and update files – both paper and digital
• Data entry to keep our records accurate
• Assist with audits and inventories at Head Office and the Hospice
• Help with project research and computer filing
• Welcome visitors by covering reception and greeting staff and visitors
• Answer calls and manage the entry barrier

Our inpatient ward at Martlets helps us care for our patients and their families. The ward, comprising of two wings, has 14 bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and access to outside spaces. The rooms are designed to be calming and comfortable. The inpatient ward has a dedicated team of specialist doctors and nurses supported by health care assistants. Some people choose to spend their final weeks with us. However, most patients can go home once we have their symptoms under control.
Our reception desk is the first point of call for all visitors, and we are looking for volunteers to help carry out a range of reception duties ensuring everyone is greeted with a warm welcome. This role is weekend cover only, doing a half day Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon.
