South Asian Arts-UK (SAA-uk) is a Leeds-based charity and recognised centre of excellence dedicated to celebrating, teaching, and evolving South Asian classical music and dance. The organisation delivers weekly academies, concerts, festivals, and community engagement and education programmes that nurture talent, foster cultural pride, and ensure high-quality artistic experiences are accessible to all. By preserving tradition while inspiring creativity, SAA-uk enriches communities and champions South Asian arts across the UK and beyond.

SAA-uk welcomes applications from both emerging professionals and experienced leaders. The organisation is particularly interested in individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Fundraising (particularly individual giving)

These sessions offer a friendly conversation with a Board member, facilitated by the Senior Administration Officer, including an overview of Board responsibilities and time for questions. Interest can be indicated within the application form.

• In-person sessions at the office, available on request during the week commencing 26 January 2026. These sessions will be scheduled only if requested, to ensure they remain manageable for Trustees.

About Maa Shanti

We offer practical support, advocacy, emotional support, and activities tailored to the needs of South Asian mothers. Services are available in person, online, or in a blended format, and the team speaks Bengali, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi to ensure culturally sensitive engagement.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities: 

· Ensure the charity fulfills its purposes as outlined in its governing document.

· Ensure compliance with the governing document, charity law, and other applicable laws.

· Act in the charity’s best interests, making balanced and informed decisions. Contribute to the Board’s strategic direction, policy-setting, and goal definition, including performance evaluation.

· Provide guidance based on experience, supporting new initiatives.

· Ensure effective and efficient administration of the organisation.

· Monitor Maa Shanti’s financial, strategic, and operational performance. 

In addition to general trustee responsibilities, we're particularly interested with in candidates who have the following skills:

· HR

· Charity Governance

· Legal expertise (family law/immigration)

Time Commitment:

· Quarterly Board meetings.

· 2 away days a year.

· In addition to Board meetings, there may be some ad hoc work support required in between meetings.

· Remote/hybrid working offered if needed.

You do not need previous governance experience to join the board. We will provide an induction an ongoing support.

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Once we have completed your selection and screening for this role, we will provide you with an induction, as well as invite you to any necessary training sessions. All volunteers to take part in the delivery of the session they would be expected to assist in the delivery. For example attending a BLS with AED session before supporting this in the community.

About the role

Ubuntu Pathways is seeking a proactive, organised, and mission-driven intern to join our close-knit London office to assist in organising and facilitating our upcoming office move. This role will report to the Fundraising & Operations Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to contribute meaningfully to Ubuntu’s impact in Gqeberha, South Africa, while gaining valuable experience in global fundraising and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting digitisation and organisation of donor files

• Preparing the office for relocation (clearing, packing, labelling)

• Conducting donor and grant prospect research

• Supporting marketing and social media activities

The Role:

We are currently seeking a Finance Trustee to join our Board as Treasurer. It’s a voluntary role that requires a committed individual with financial expertise to take a collaborative approach, supporting our Trustees, our Head of Finance and Governance, and our management team to oversee the financial affairs of our charity and ensure that they are legal, constitutional, and within accepted accounting practice.

Treasurer Role:

The primary role is to ensure alongside other Trustees that they accept ultimate responsibility for the affairs of G&C and ensure that it is solvent, well run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for which it has been set up. As well as fulfilling the duties of a Trustee, the Treasurer ensures that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls, and procedures are put in place and reports to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.

• Overseeing the presentation of budgets, internal management accounts, and annual financial statements, as produced by the finance team or others where appropriate, to the Board of Trustees
• Ensuring that proper accounting records are kept, and that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place. 
• Liaising with any paid staff about financial matters, as appropriate.
• Ensuring that robust and comprehensive financial policies are in place and being implemented, and supporting the development of policies covering financial reserves, and cost management. 
• Overseeing financial controls and adherence to systems. 
• Drawing any major financial concerns to the attention of the trustee and the management team.
• Ensuring that the charity has appropriate reserves in line with its reserves policy, and monitoring and advising on the financial viability of the charity. 
• Advising on the financial implications of the charity’s strategic plan, including overseeing the charity’s financial risk-management process.
• Ensuring that the charity has an appropriate investment policy and that investments and assets are maximised.
• Leading on the appointment of and liaison with external auditors. 
• Overseeing the development and implementation of systems for appraising, mitigating, and reporting corporate risk. 
• Ensuring that the accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by relevant statutory bodies – for example, the Charity Commission and/or the Registrar of Companies.
• Keeping the board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities.
• Supporting other Trustees in understanding the charity’s financial position and decision making.
• Contributing to the fundraising strategy of the charity and its ethical fundraising policy.
• Making a formal presentation of the accounts at the Annual General Meeting and drawing attention to important points in a coherent and easily understandable way.

The Person We’re Looking For:

• A finance professional with a firm understanding of charity finance and some experience of fundraising and pension schemes.
• Knowledge of charity fundraising, bid writing, and/or other income generation and/or securing funding through creation or leveraging of partnerships and networks (at a national or local level).
• A strategic thinker with an ability to balance risk and opportunity and the skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences.
• Clear communicator with the ability to explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders.
• Willing to play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets, and liaising with auditors.

In addition, the Treasurer will also have the responsibilities and qualities of all Trustees.

Responsibilities of All Trustees:

• Demonstrating a commitment to G&C’s objectives
• Contributing to setting the strategic goals and monitoring performance by active participation in Board discussions and decision-making
• Actively assisting the charity to build their connections and partnerships for the purposes of most effectively delivering their goals and fundraising
• Ensuring that G&C complies with its governing documents, the law, and all other relevant documentation
• Helping to identify risks and ensuring appropriate controls are in place
• Helping the Board to make sound decisions by making available their own personal knowledge and experience
• Assisting the Chair to appoint and appraise the performance of the Senior Leadership Team members
• Sharing relevant skills and expertise with the Senior Leadership Team members
• Making all reasonable efforts to attend Board meetings, away days, development meetings, publicity events, and other such public functions as requested by the Chair
• Ensuring the charity’s focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion remains at the heart of its strategy and delivery

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

How much time is expected of me? 

Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

Support, guidance and keeping you safe 

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

We are looking for new charity trustees to join our board and provide strong governance for Energise Me. Contribute to a great cause, develop your skills, build your professional network and gain strategic experience.

As a trustee, you will help lead Energise Me and keep us on track with our purpose. You might ask questions which help us think differently, make suggestions to move things forward, or act as a sounding board for ideas.

We are looking for trustees with skills, knowledge or experience in at least one of the following:

• HR and employment
• Accountancy and finance
• The justice system
• Planning for place and/or transport

The role of an Energise Me Trustee

• Support Energise Me to pursue its charitable objective as defined in its governing document
• Support the Chair of the Board in the management of the Chief Executive, including monitoring their performance and remuneration
• Act as an advocate for the organisation and assist in building relationships with stakeholders and potential partners
• Contribute actively to the Board’s role in giving strong strategic direction, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting and evaluating targets
• Ensure the management and administration of the organisation is delivered effectively and efficiently, making best use of the charity’s resources
• Ensure the financial stability of the organisation and oversee management of risk
• Sit on, Chair or facilitate Action Groups and their goals as appropriate

Energise Me trustees meet four times a year in central Winchester, or virtually, for board meetings. Those with a particular interest or skill may also be invited to join committees or action groups that support particular areas of work, such as Finance, Audit and Risk.
