Administrator support officer volunteer roles

We are looking for up to three talented people to bring wider expertise to our board and complement the skills of our elected pharmacists and the Chair, Joe Irvin OBE. Our Trustees will help steer our strategic direction and ensure the good governance and financial wellbeing of the College.

With a proud history of more than a century, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society is now transforming itself into the Royal College of Pharmacy, a registered charity providing public benefit, to sit alongside the other medical royal colleges. This change is due in Spring 2026.

As we already have expertise in pharmacy, this is not a requirement however one of the new trustees must have specialist expertise in charity finance.  This is a voluntary role, and you would be expected to attend formal board meetings (in person and online) four times a year – and annually for a full-day strategic review and planning session. Trustees serve for a term of up to three years with an option for appointment for a further two terms.

Principal Duties as a Board Member:

• Contribute actively to the Board, in giving firm strategic direction to the charity, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets

• Ensure that the charity complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations

• Ensure that the charity pursues its mission, as defined by the objects in its governing document and uses its resources exclusively for the delivery of that mission

• Ensure effective and efficient administration of the charity

 Person Specification:

• Demonstrable strategic leadership – with ability to focus on long-term direction and outcomes rather than operational detail

• Experience leading or advising organisations through growth, change, or uncertainty

• Experience within or exposure to sectors with particular sensitivities or complexities, e.g. healthcare, membership, safeguarding or equality-focused work.

• It would be desirable to bring expertise in any of the following areas: change management, marketing and communication, commercial success of a trading subsidiary, safeguarding, education, professional accreditation

• Knowledge of the wider healthcare environment and in particular patient voice would also be an advantage.

Role Description

The Press/Media Manager will work closely with the Communication Officer to lead on the Pagan Federation's media strategy. You will act as a primary point of contact for journalists, broadcasters, and media outlets working to promote positive coverage of Paganism and to respond appropriately to media interest, engaging in both proactive and reactive.

You will develop and oversee press strategies, prepare statements and press releases, brief spokespersons, and assist the organisation in sensitive communications where required. As this is a council-level role within the Pagan Federation you will be expected to provide regular reports to the Communications Officer and the Council of the Pagan Federation.

This is a voluntary role, and volunteers are expected to work remotely. We have volunteers working across England and Wales. Some travel may be necessary, reasonable expenses will be covered in line with our expenses policy.

Qualifications

• At least two years experience in the field of Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or similar. (Essential)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in media engagement. (Essential)

Could you help to raise vital funds for SSAFA in your local area? You don’t need a military background, just the ability to get on with all kinds of people, some basic I.T skills and good written and spoken English. If you already have some fundraising experience that would be great too but it’s not essential.

What is a Fundraising Coordinator?

As Fundraising Coordinator, you would work with your local SSAFA branch to develop a Fundraising Plan. You would be central to delivering this local plan to raise funds through a range of local sources including grants, trusts, appeals, collections, and events.

Why do we need you?

We’ve been supporting the Armed Forces community since 1885. Our clients come from all backgrounds and age groups and may have served in WW2 or in a more recent conflict like the Falklands or Afghanistan.

There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.

SSAFA branches rely on a regular charitable income to fund all the necessities behind our support for clients. This includes volunteer travel expenses, phone bills, publicity, and grants for clients in urgent needs. A varied programme of fundraising also keeps the SSAFA profile high in the local community. We’d love to hear from you if you could help by coordinating this vital aspect of your local SSAFA branch.

When would you be needed and where would you be based?

As part of your local branch, you might have access to an office, but many volunteers are based at home. You would also be out and about at events and meetings. This role would suit someone looking to give a regular time commitment to SSAFA although when and where would be flexible to suit you.

What would you be doing?

• Developing an ethical fundraising plan based on the needs of the branch and choosing a mix of sources.
• Working with the branch secretary and Regional Fundraising Manager, recruit a team of fundraising volunteers to support events, appeals and collections.
• Working with the Regional Fundraising Manager, support national fundraising campaigns.
• Working with the Branch Publicity Officer, develop opportunities to combine awareness and fundraising.
• Planning and running local appeals, collections, and events
• Identifying and submitting applications to appropriate trusts and grant funding organisations
• Working with Marketing staff at central office check that all fundraising materials meet SSAFA branding style and current key messages.
• Liaise with Regional Fundraising Manager when pursuing opportunities beyond local sources e.g., corporates.
• Evaluate fundraising activities and provide reports and information for the branch.
• Being a positive ambassador for SSAFA including all sections of the community in awareness raising
• Volunteering within the standards and values of SSAFA including observing our policies such as the Volunteering policy and data protection policy (these will be covered in your training and local induction.)

The remit of this role may change over the next 12-18 months depending on the outcome of a trial currently being undertaken.

What are we looking for?

• Friendly and approachable people with good communication skills including written and spoken English.
• Confident to deal with the public, potential clients, volunteers, other agencies and SSAFA colleagues – face-to-face, by phone, email or via social media.
• Experience of running events and or submitting funding applications would be welcome but not essential.
• Ability to send and receive emails – you will receive your own SSAFA email address.
• Ability to make enquires about fundraising opportunities by phone, email, letter or by filling in forms
• Reliable attitude, keep appointments, update the branch regarding your availability.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and keep information safely.
• Access to public transport or a car to get to meetings and events.

Transform is looking for a new Treasurer to join our board of Trustees!

We are looking for a qualified accountant, preferably with experience in the charity sector; knowledge and experience of the drug sector an advantage.

As we are a small organisation this is quite a hands-on role. You will need:

 To work collaboratively with the CEO, our book-keepers and the auditors to produce annual accounts
and regular financial statements
 Proven accountancy qualifications, budgeting and understanding the finance of small
charities including a working knowledge of xero 
 Ability to translate finances in an easy-to-understand manner for different
stakeholders with less financial knowledge
 Good knowledge of charity governance rules and procedures
 To be passionate about the values and mission of the charity

You will also work closely with the Chair and the Board to ensure we are meeting our
financial objectives
You will be willing to bring experience, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and be

That level of scale requires rigorous systems to ensure nothing is lost, duplicated, misused, or unsafe. The Content Librarian / Digital Asset Manager is the role that turns volume into value. This is not a passive admin role. This is infrastructure-building.

Experience Qualification and Requirements

Essential:

• Experience in digital asset management, content operations, knowledge management, archiving, or media library administration.
• Experience creating and maintaining structured systems (folders, naming rules, tags, metadata) at scale.
• Experience logging and tracking assets accurately, with strong attention to detail and consistency.
• Experience working across teams (creative, campaigns, operations, safeguarding) to coordinate content flow and accountability.
• Highly organised approach with strong file hygiene, documentation discipline, and ability to maintain standards consistently.
• Strong attention to detail, including version control, permissions, approval status tracking, and prevention of misuse.
• Ability to think in systems: designing processes that make content searchable, reusable, and scalable.
• Strong communication skills for clarifying requirements, flagging risks, and keeping stakeholders aligned.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain reliability in a high-volume environment.

Desirable experience 

• Experience supporting creative teams with admin/ops or project coordination.

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties

• Build and maintain a central digital content library that supports scale, reuse, and consistent access across the CIC.
• Create and manage structured systems for content organisation, including naming conventions, folder structures, tagging rules, and metadata standards.
• Log and catalogue all incoming content from content creators, podcast teams, campaign teams, and ambassadors, ensuring every asset is captured and traceable.
• Track key content status fields, including approval status, usage rights/permissions, platform suitability, and safeguarding clearance.
• Ensure content is easy to find and easy to reuse by maintaining accurate tags, searchable metadata, clear versions, and consistent file hygiene.
• Manage version control and “single source of truth” practices, preventing confusion, loss of quality, duplicated assets, or incorrect public release.
• Coordinate with the Social Media Director, Safeguarding Officer, Campaign Managers, and Automation & Systems teams to align library structure with workflows and publishing needs.
• Flag risks, gaps, duplication, or misuse (e.g., missing consent, unclear rights, unapproved assets, outdated versions, incorrect tagging) and route issues to the right owners.
• Support content distribution readiness by ensuring assets are stored in the correct location, correctly named, correctly tagged, and marked for approved use.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by refining systems, templates, and guidance as volume increases and the C.I.C scales.

Our Community Volunteers are vital in enabling us to continue to feed the 3 million children we feed every day and to help us reach the next child. They use their talents in their communities to spread the story of Mary’s Meals.

What is the role of a Community Volunteer?

Some of the things you can do as a community volunteer:

• Help us to share our story – arrange and give Mary’s Meals talks to local community organisations, schools, churches and faith groups to raise vital awareness and funds
• Use your networks and contacts to book talks, stalls and events and help us share our story
• Organise fundraising events in your local area such as coffee mornings, quizzes, supermarket bag packs and bucket collections
• Organise film screenings in your community to show Mary’s Meals films
• Volunteer at local fundraising and awareness events such as film screenings, bucket collections or concerts
• Promote Mary’s Meals’ fundraising campaigns and events in your community and across their networks and contacts
• Distribute and display promotional materials
• Place collection tins in local community areas
• Host community engagement events about Mary’s Meals’ work
• Come together as a group with other local volunteers to support each other with this work
• Lead a group in your community to fundraise for Mary’s Meals

About Norwich Arts Students' Union 

Norwich Arts Students' Union (NASU) is the representative body for students at Norwich University of the Arts, dedicated to enriching the student experience by helping students find their voice, their people, and their fun. 

Having become an incorporated charity in 2025, NASU is navigating an incredibly exciting period of growth and transformation with ambitions become the best Small and Specialist Students' Union in the UK. Since 2023, their team has expanded from one staff member to 4 full-time and 7 part-time colleagues alongside two sabbatical officers, and they have undergone a complete financial and structural transformation.

About the Role 

This is a defining leadership opportunity to chair the Board of Trustees at a critical and exciting moment in NASU's journey. As Chair, you will provide strategic guidance and governance leadership to an organisation that is rapidly maturing whilst centring its creative, student-led values. 

Working in close partnership with the Managing Director and elected student officers, you will ensure the Board operates effectively, holds the organisation accountable to its charitable objectives, and champions a culture of empowerment, inclusion and innovation. You will guide the Board in balancing ambitious growth with financial sustainability, ensuring that students remain at the heart of everything they do.

About You 

NASU are seeking an experienced and empathetic leader with a strong understanding of membership organisations and the unique dynamics of supporting student-led bodies to grow sustainably. You will have demonstrable experience of working at a senior level in Students' Unions or similar charitable organisations, ideally with governance or Board experience. 

You will be someone who values creativity, champions inclusive leadership and approaches governance with both rigour and humanity. Your leadership style will be collaborative and empowering, combining strategic thinking with emotional intelligence and a genuine passion for the student experience.

We are recruiting a digital communications volunteer to support us in protecting privacy and civil liberties issues in the UK. The role is based in our London office near Westminster (SE1 7SJ).

Time commitment: 1 day per week, 6 months minimum

In this role, you'll be volunteering under the guidance of our Digital Communications Officer to assist the organisation with high-impact communications and administrative work including supporter mailouts. Your responsibilities will include:

• Pitching ideas and creating content for our social media platforms with hundreds of thousands of followers
• Our supporter scheme, which includes sending out welcome packs
• Writing press summaries
• Executing exciting campaign actions

What we're looking for:

• The role is ideal for someone interested in growing their digital and social media communication skills. If you are passionate about privacy and civil liberties issues, want to support our high-impact communications team and want to learn about the ins and outs of our organisation, we want to hear from you!

What we can offer:

• We will reimburse your travel costs within London (zones 1-6) and a daily lunch allowance of up to £6
• Experience working as part of a dedicated, dynamic, positive team of campaigners on critical civil liberties issues
• Monthly supervisions and support

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, and our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

A bit about this role... 

Please note - Due to the nature of fundraising roles, our volunteers must be over the age of 18. 

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you! 

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser.  You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.

How much time is expected of me? 

Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams.
