About The Stray Cat Charity (TSCC)

The Stray Cat Charity is a newly established UK-registered CIO working to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome stray cats in Greece, starting in Patras. Our current priority campaign is to raise £35,000 to build a dedicated stray cat shelter in Patras, Greece, which will provide safe housing, veterinary care, and a pathway to adoption for vulnerable cats. As a growing new charity, we are building our fundraising and outreach network across the UK.

Role Purpose

We are looking for a motivated volunteer to support the growth of our charity by helping identify and connect with potential supporters in their local area. This includes community groups, schools, corporates, and potential major donors who may be interested in supporting or fundraising for stray cats in Greece. The aim of this role is to help generate awareness, build relationships, and support fundraising activity for our current and future campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

The volunteer may support with:

• Researching local community groups, schools, faith groups, and businesses
• Identifying potential corporate partners and supporters in their region
• Contacting organisations to introduce The Stray Cat Charity and its mission
• Encouraging groups to support the charity through donations or fundraising
• Promoting our current campaign to raise £35,000 for a stray cat shelter in Patras, Greece
• Supporting or initiating community fundraising activities where appropriate (e.g. sponsored events, school fundraisers, awareness campaigns)
• Helping to raise awareness of stray cat welfare issues in Greece through local outreach

Fundraising Options

Volunteers may either:

• Focus on outreach and relationship-building, or
• Actively support or lead local fundraising efforts for the charity’s campaigns

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms.

• Edit short-form and long-form videos highlighting OBI's programs, events, and impact stories.
• Design and schedule social media posts that increase engagement and visibility.

• Optimize content for each social media platform.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in digital marketing or social media management.
• Strong video editing skills using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
• Experience creating short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Basic graphic design skills using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Strong storytelling and content creation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Passion for nonprofit work and community development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with nonprofits or NGOs.
• Knowledge of social media analytics and content strategy.
• Experience with Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Hootsuite.

We are seeking committed individuals to join our Management Committee, supporting the strategic oversight and governance of Help4Homeless.

This is a voluntary leadership role responsible for ensuring the charity operates effectively, ethically, and in line with its mission to support people experiencing homelessness in Peterborough.

Management Committee members carry out trustee-style responsibilities, providing oversight, guidance, and accountability for the organisation, without being part of day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of Help4Homeless and its long-term direction
• Act in the best interests of the organisation and its beneficiaries at all times
• Attend committee meetings and contribute to decision-making and planning
• Support and challenge the leadership team to ensure effective delivery of services
• Monitor the organisation’s activities, impact, and overall performance
• Help ensure financial transparency and responsible use of funds
• Identify risks and help ensure appropriate safeguarding and compliance measures are in place
• Uphold the values, mission, and reputation of Help4Homeless
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation within the community
• Declare and manage any conflicts of interest appropriately

Please Note

Although this role is titled Management Committee Member, it carries responsibilities equivalent to a trustee position, including governance, oversight, and accountability. The committee collectively ensures the organisation is well-managed and acting in the public interest.

Why we want you

As a community engagement volunteer you and your fellow branch members will create a range of activities to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community to ensure that that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

This role is diverse and allows for you to focus on the areas that you have skills or interests in. The role has flexibility and can work around your other commitments.

Below are some examples of possible activities you can take on or be a part of as a SSAFA Community Engagement Volunteer.

What you will be doing

• Activity Organisers - Love planning? Help coordinate amazing events like charity dinners, carol concerts, and local fairs.
• Event Champions - Be the friendly face of SSAFA! Help at events, chat with visitors, sell merchandise, and spread the word about our work.
• Promoting SSAFA Services - Help provide a warm, welcoming presence at Veterans Breakfast clubs, cafes or hubs - offering information about SSAFA services and signposting as appropriate.
• SSAFA Storytellers -Deliver engaging talks to organisations and groups, sharing SSAFA’s incredible history and mission.
• Community Connectors - Collaborating with the Community Engagement Manager to establish a local network, promote SSAFA's services, and respond to community opportunities such as gardening projects.
• Fundraising Heroes - Whether it’s rallying local businesses, organising events, or getting creative with unique fundraising ideas, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping SSAFA’s support going strong.
• Administrators - Are you detail-oriented and love keeping things organised? Assist with branch and event administration, manage schedules and branch calendars, and ensure everything runs smoothly currently being undertaken.

The skills you need

• Be friendly and approachable.
• Confident to engage with the public, potential clients, volunteers and SSAFA colleagues face-to-face.
• Reliable attitude, staying connected with your Branch and/or Community Engagement Manager about your availability.
• Access to public transport or a car to get to events if necessary.
• Basic IT skills would be an advantage.

Role Overview As the Manager: Placements, you will lead the entire Placements Department. Your job is to make sure your team finds paid jobs for our participants at other companies. You will manage the Team Leaders and ensure the department hits its high performance targets. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and deep experience in the recruitment industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Department Leadership: Take full responsibility for the Placements Team and ensure all staff follow mandatory protocols.
   

• Strategy: Mana

• Performance Targets: Ensure the department reaches the 95% weekly completion target and follows the "ABC" method.
   

• External Relations: Build high-level partnerships with external companies to create more job opportunities for our participants.
   

• Commission Management: Oversee and approve the commission payments for each successful placement made by your team.

• Problem Solving: Identify gaps in the recruitment process and use AI or new strategies to fix them.
   

• Quality Control: Ensure every participant is correctly matched and that their First Day Training (FDT) is confirmed by the employer.
   

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in recruitment or placement services, with a history of managing teams.
   

• Education: A degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred.
   

• Leadership: Strong ability to lead and motivate a large remote team.
   

• Communication: Excellent skills in professional UK English to influence senior stakeholders.
   

• Decision Making: Ability to make quick decisions to move candidates forward within 48 hours.
   

• Technology: Highly skilled in using MS Office and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
   

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK is a 16-week unpaid Professional Development Programme. It requires a commitment of at least 12 hours per week, typically across two 6-hour workdays (Monday to Friday).
