A bit about this role... 

Please note - Due to the nature of fundraising roles, our volunteers must be over the age of 18. 

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you! 

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser.  You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.

How much time is expected of me? 

Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

Support, guidance and keeping you safe 

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Role overview:

As the Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator, you will play a vital role in helping us raise the essential funds that keep our cat rescue work going. This position is key to ensuring we can continue to provide care, veterinary treatment, food, and a safe haven to cats in need. You will take the lead on planning and delivering fundraising activities and work closely with the wider team to help grow support for our charity.

Key responsibilities:

• Fundraising campaigns: Plan, lead and deliver creative fundraising initiatives (both online and in-person).

• Event coordination: Organise and promote fundraising events such as raffles, auctions, online events, and local community events.

• Donor engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, thanking them and keeping them informed about how their contributions are used.

• Grant applications: Identify grant and funding opportunities.

• Collaboration: Work closely with trustees, the social media team, and other volunteers to align fundraising with our campaigns and goals.

• Tracking and reporting: Keep accurate records of donations, event outcomes, and supporter engagement to help inform future planning.

• Fundraising experience: Previous experience in fundraising is essential – whether in a charity, community group or similar role.

Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Wild We Stand is a fully volunteer-led collective and this is a volunteer opportunity. We are a flat collective where everyone belongs, a co-creation space where we get excited about your work, support your ideas, and want you to thrive with genuine freedom. While this is currently a volunteer role, as a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), our shared goal is to build a sustainable pathway to paid roles as the collective grows. What is the role?

As our Movement & Strategy Director, you will be the first new addition to our leadership team, and directly work alongside our co-founders to create narrative strategy and translate concepts into clear movement direction.

You will help us design strategy and structure to help grow the collective. We are just starting our journey or assessing membership models, grants, and creating project timelines to host more & bigger events and build a sustainable pathway to pay our collective members and founder.

This is a volunteer position. Your work in our purpose-driven collective will have a direct role in shaping the visual language of a justice-centred environmental movement.

What will you be responsible for?

1. Partner directly with our co-founders to finalise and launch our Manifesto, create our Narrative Strategy, co-design campaign concepts and strategic hooks

2. Help to build and launch a community membership model to generate revenue for bigger events, project budgets, and collective pay

3. Map out project timelines and strategic roadmaps to turn ideas into structured, executable campaign timelines

4. Identify and help to submit applications for grassroots micro-grants, council climate funds, and community pots

5. Commitment to a decolonised imagination that connects conservation to the intersections of wildlife and oppression

6. An unwavering drive to confront the consequences of capitalism and systems of power with the urgency required for genuine change and justice

What are we looking for?

1. Proven experience growing or co-leading a collective, non-profit, grassroots movement, or community initiative

2. Background or experience in narrative strategy, movement communications, campaign messaging, in related spaces (conservation, environment, culture, social justice, community)

3. A strategic mindset, excited to ideate, build and create

4. Ability to bring strategic timelines and structure while preserving our grassroots ethos

5. Self-directed initiative to take big concepts and turn them into clear, structured project plans

6. A collaborative, non-hierarchical mindset that thrives in a flat collective structure

Social Media Volunteer - London 

Do you want to use your social media skills to tackle the housing emergency? 

Information about the role 

You’ll be identifying topics to share, helping develop the communications and then using a range of social media platforms to promote our local services and increase engagement with local and national campaigns.

Location: Shelter Office, 88 Old Street, London

Suggested contribution: 5 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months

Availability: Volunteering will take place at a time that suits you, within Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm

Main activities may include: 

• Establishing and/or maintaining active social media accounts for the Shelter London hub. 

• Helping to develop social media communication plans. 

• Creating and sharing content on social media platforms that raises awareness of Shelter’s campaigns and services and helps the local community. 

• Identifying topics to share through communicating with hub teams as well as researching housing related news and issues affecting people locally. 

• Being up to date with social media trends and using them to attract target audiences. 

• Attending events organised by the London hub to gather content to share on social media and/or live posting throughout.

• Monitoring reactions to our posts, including flagging any responses that do not align with our inclusion and Anti-Racism work.

This role fights the housing emergency by promoting awareness of Shelter’s campaigns and services. This means people who need help with housing or homelessness know where to go for support.

• The role, including learning and communications, are flexible, so can be tailored so they best suit your needs and preferences.

• You will be able to claim reasonable volunteering expenses in line with Shelter’s volunteer expenses policy. Where financial circumstances would be a barrier to volunteering, we may be able to offer these funds in advance.

• You will be able to access our volunteer support package, including our colleague assistance programme and Shelter’s network of mental health first aiders.

SarcoidosisUK is looking for a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support the next stage
of our development. We are seeking someone with ambition and strategic experience to continue
the amazing support for those affected by sarcoidosis and drive forward progress to future proof
the Charity. This is a significant voluntary role for someone with strong board or senior governance
experience who can lead the charity and act as ambassador.

About us
SarcoidosisUK is a small charity with big ambitions! We want to make a difference to the lives of
those affected by sarcoidosis in the UK by providing information and support, raising awareness
and undertaking research into treatments and a cure. We currently support over 9,000 people
online and have strong relationships with both clinicians and patients.

The role
The Chair provides leadership to the Board of Trustees and works closely with the Senior Executive
to ensure the charity is well-governed, financially sound, and delivering on its charitable
objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
 Leading the Board and helping set the strategic direction of the charity.
 Maintaining a culture that directly reflects the charity’s values and mission.
 Ensuring the Board fulfils its legal, regulatory and compliance responsibilities.
 Setting the agenda for Board meetings and ensuring robust, inclusive decision-making.
 Acting as a critical friend and line manager to the Senior Executive.
 Ensuring performance, risks and finances are monitored effectively.
 Acting as ambassador for the charity.

About you:
We are looking for someone who:
 Has previous Board-level experience (Chair or senior Trustee experience desirable).
 Demonstrates strong leadership, facilitation, and influencing skills.
 Understands the responsibilities and legal duties of charity trustees.
 Is able to commit the time and energy required for the role.
 Shares a passion for our cause and values.
 Ideally has first hand or close family experience of sarcoidosis.

Time commitment
This is a voluntary role.
The Board meets online early evening 10 times a year for no more than 2 hours each time and
meetings are friendly and informal. Trustees have a variety of backgrounds and can contribute
time and expertise outside of meetings to supporting the development of the charity.
Regular contact with the Senior Executive and 2 staff as part of operational oversight. The office is
based in London and we have hybrid working.

Fundraising Volunteer

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. We are looking for an individual who embodies the spirit of CAG and continually keeps the integrity and goals of the organisation at the forefront of every decision that they make as part of their role.  Because we work in a self-funded way, we need new resources to keep our organisation alive and to be able to offer a wide range of outdoor activities to our members.

We are looking for a remote based or local volunteer who ideally has experience in grant / bid writing and / or experience of working with young people.  This is a very flexible role which can be carried out at home and in your free time.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Communicating and building relationships with current and potential donors.

• Organise established fundraising activities, such as our legendary CAG car wash. 

• Develop new and imaginative fundraising activities, many of which involve organising events to raise awareness of the charity and its activities e.g. giving talks to groups or seeking photo opportunities with the media. 

• Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising, online auctions and merchandise sales. 

• Manage all aspects of grant bids: research potential donors, establish requirements of the grant, create a bid (in conjunction with other CAG staff) that meets the terms and conditions of the grant, submit bid and implement successful bids, report progress where required back to grant givers.

• Oversee corporate fundraising, including employee giving and matched giving from employers. 

• Manage and update databases to record donor contact and preference information. 

• Write applications and mail-shots, using direct mailing to reach a range of potential and current donors. 

• Researching and contacting new sources of funding.

• Drafting proposals for projects, activities and equipment.

Where will the volunteer be working?

The volunteer will work from home will be required to attend meetings within the Solihull area.

Travel Limit

This role is partly remote but ideally the candidate should be available for face to face Committee and other meetings.

• You would need to be available to attend Committee meetings which normally take place in the evening.

• Occasional weekends to attend events.

• Community Engagement: Build and nurture a vibrant online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and respectful manner.

• Content Calendar: Maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent posting schedule and to plan for special events, holidays, and campaigns.

• Audience Growth: Implement strategies to increase our social media following and engagement, including the use of hashtags, collaborations, and promotions.

• Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media metrics, track campaign performance, and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.

• Brand Consistency: Ensure that all social media content adheres to Roots Academy’s branding guidelines and reflects our core values.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other teams to align social media efforts with broader organisational objectives.

What we’re looking for

• Strong understanding of Islamic values and the ability to communicate and promote them effectively.

• Proven experience in social media management, preferably in an educational or nonprofit context.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms.

• Creative thinking and the ability to develop engaging content.

• Strong analytical skills for tracking and evaluating social media performance.

• Understanding of social media advertising and paid promotion.

• Community management experience with the ability to maintain a positive and respectful online environment.

• Graphic Design Software - Basic knowledge of graphic design software like Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite for creating or editing marketing materials.

You will give talks in person or virtually, sharing your own story to improve understanding of sight loss to local service providers and community groups. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to improve accessibility and inclusivity, creating a world without barriers.

What you’ll be doing:
• Giving talks to groups of people to raise awareness of sight loss in your local community by sharing your story to audiences, for example, local businesses, community and voluntary groups.
• Delivering Talks to raise awareness of RNIB services as a trusted source of support for blind and partially sighted people

• Representing RNIB as an Ambassador for the Community Connection service
