What we need from you

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork
• Championing our work – helping to develop new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• Photography – capturing images of cats in care, cats we’re helping, fundraising events, and all things Cats Protection

Providing a confidential non-judgemental listening ear to Residents and Staff. Supporting those wishing to develop their spiritual journey from a Christian perspective. The role will be based across one of our hostels in Watford, Borehamwood, Bishop's Stortford, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield or High Wycombe, 

Activities include:

• Proactively engaging with Residents and staff to build safe relationships and trust
• Offering a ‘listening ear’ to all and giving emotional support
• Sensitively discerning when to offer prayer and support from a Christian perspective, and when to use faith based language
• Be inclusive and welcoming to people of all religious faiths and none, referring people to other faith communities as appropriate
• Working alongside support staff, volunteers & local agencies
• Maintaining records of support and feeding back concerns about Resident welfare to Staff/Line Manager.
• Attend regular volunteer team meetings
• Being proactive in seeking spiritual and emotional support for your own benefit as this is a challenging role.

Additional activities could include:

• Facilitating group work for example: Retreat Programme, Bible Study, prayer or Mental Health Support.

Skills/Qualities/Experience:

• Be a good and active listener who can support others

Training Support:

• A full induction to the service and specific site will be provided
• A one day ‘Chaplaincy Essentials’ training, plus a menu of additional training will be made available

• Ongoing support and regular 1:1 meetings with your line-manager

Front of House Volunteer

Information about the role

You’ll be the first point of contact for people coming to Shelter for housing, benefit or debt. This role supports the front-line service in the day-to-day operations of our housing, benefit and debt service in the hub and in our community settings.

Location: Shelter Lancashire Hub, Blackburn Central Library, Town Hall Street, Blackburn. Volunteering activity could be in the Hub or in our community settings.

Availability: Volunteering will take place within our Hub service hours of Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm

Axial Spondyloarthritis International Federation (ASIF) is looking for a passionate and experienced, voluntary, legal/governance Trustee to join our Board and help shape the future of our international membership charity supporting people living with axSpA worldwide.

This voluntary role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of UK charity law and/or governance and risk management.  If you are a confident communicator with extensive legal and/or governance experience and a desire to use those skills to support an international charity, we would love to hear from you.  Your expertise, insight and judgement could help ASIF to further its work to improve the quality of life for people living with Axial Spondyloarthritis across the world.

Role purpose
The Legal/Governance Trustee will contribute to the effective governance and strategic leadership of the charity.  They will provide strategic oversight, ensuring the organisation acts within legal frameworks, charity regulations, and its own governing documents.  They advise on compliance, manage risk and promote high standards of governance.  This voluntary, non-executive role requires legal expertise, knowledge of UK Charity Commission compliance and commitment to ASIF’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Actively participate in Board meetings and relevant Board committee meetings (F&GP), providing objective advice on legal, governance and risk issues.
• Work with the Chair, Director of Operations and other trustees to ensure the charity maintains the highest standards of governance, complies with all relevant laws and regulations and delivers on its mission.
• Contribute to the development and scrutiny of organisational strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure accountability
• Strategic advice: Provide legal expertise on strategic decision, risk management and safeguarding
• Assist in drafting or reviewing trustees’ reports, policies, and contracts (in particular grant contracts)
• Contribute to the identification of, and where appropriate, mitigate organisational risks, including reputation and financial, ensuring sustainability.

Time commitment:1-4 hours per month 

Person specification

• Qualified solicitor or barrister or charity governance expert with strong understanding of UK charity law, compliance and governance frameworks.
• Helpful to have an understanding of the governance of an international membership charity.
• Ability to think creatively and contribute to long-term planning.
• Dedication to ASIF’s mission and willingness to devote the necessary time.
• Ethical standards, integrity and sound, independent objective judgement.
• Because ASIF is registered in the UK, it is advisable for business purposes to have two UK-based trustees.  This Trustee should be UK-based.

Norfolk Tennis is the county governing body for tennis and padel in Norfolk and a volunteer-led Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity No. 1203480). We work in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association to support clubs, venues, coaches and players across the county, helping more people enjoy the physical, social and community benefits of tennis and padel. Our work aligns with the LTA’s “Tennis Opened Up” strategy, which aims to make the sport accessible, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. Norfolk Tennis is governed by a Board of Trustees supported by a volunteer Management Committee representing clubs, venues and key development areas across the county. As tennis and padel continue to grow, Norfolk Tennis is seeking individuals to join its Board of Trustees and contribute strategic leadership to the development of tennis and padel across the county.

About the Trustee Role
Trustees play a vital role in ensuring Norfolk Tennis is well governed, financially sustainable and strategically focused. Working collaboratively with fellow Trustees and the Management Committee, Trustees help ensure the organisation operates effectively as a charity while delivering meaningful impact for tennis and padel across the county.

Trustees are responsible for:

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising events organisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events to raise the vital funds needed to help cats. Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cake sales, barn dances, quiz nights and everything in between.

What we need from you

You'll be:

• planning fundraising events and activities like cake sales, quiz nights and barn dances
• providing the treasurer with information on funds raised from fundraising events
• encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 
• following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

A bit more information about this role and the team

This is a key support role that helps keep the fundraising function organised and running smoothly.

• Booking events and completing relevant forms.
• Maintain a current contact list of volunteers.
• Manage and prepare equipment ahead of events (some heavy lifting required, can be shared by more than one person).
• Manage and update volunteer availability rotas.
• Update the “cat book” and event information pack ahead of each event.

Time expectation

Our fundraising events organisers usually spend two to three hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer.

We’re looking for dedicated Volunteer college governors to help shape and champion the future of Sense Colleges.

About the role: 

As a College Governor, you’ll play a vital non-executive role in ensuring our colleges continue to deliver excellent, inclusive education. You’ll help set the strategic direction, monitor performance, and provide independent oversight and support to senior leaders.

Key responsibilities: 

• Help guide the college’s long-term vision, mission, and strategic goals.
• Monitor progress against key priorities and quality improvement plans.
• Hold leaders to account for performance and outcomes that meet the needs of learners.
• Ensure the college complies with statutory and safeguarding duties.
• Oversee financial health and value for money.
• Review students’ progress through visits, reports, and case studies.
• Join one of our sub-committees — either Quality and Curriculum or Safeguarding and Health & Safety — depending on your skills and interests.

This is a meaningful opportunity to influence the education and support of young disabled people, while developing your own governance experience and leadership skills.

About you

This role would be a great fit if you:

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers

· allocating tasks before and during fundraising events

· keeping financial records from fundraising events

· encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 

· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
