As a food bank warehouse team leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the food bank warehouse, supporting volunteers, coordinating activities and being the main point of contact for handling queries for the duration of the session. • Supervise and motivate a team of volunteers.

Alfriston Outreach Service is dedicated to helping older and vulnerable people in Kingston. We provide services such as Hot Lunch delivery, Shopping, and Laundry delivered into people’s homes, with our aim to support older people to remain independent in their own homes.

Mind in Kingston supports people with mental health issues and raises awareness within Kingston and surrounding areas. We provide training, supervision, and opportunities for career development.

What does the Risk & Assurance Trustee role involve? 

As our Risk & Assurance Trustee, you will provide expert risk and assurance oversight and strategic counsel to the Board of Trustees. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Head of Integrated Assurance & Internal Audit, External and Internal Auditors, you will oversee the scrutinisation of SJA policies, processes, structures and actions, ensuring the organisation is mitigating risk but also building a sustainable future. You’ll seek assurance that high standards are being upheld across all areas of the organisation and seek assurance that the organisation is compliant with its governing document, charity law, company law and maintaining high governance standards.

You will also chair the Risk & Assurance Committee.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

First Aid Services Operations deploy hundreds of volunteers and employees every week on community and
commercial events, to make sure first aid is available in our local communities, as and when it is needed.
Operational Support is a flexible role which will work with, and proactively provide support to, various teams
to ensure volunteers always have a positive experience. This could range from carrying out practical tasks
which positively impact our people’s welfare on events, to be a friendly face welcoming new volunteers to
selection events, or existing volunteers to their Clinical Competency Assessments, or even helping Units to
increase their presence in the community.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE INVOLVED IN (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)

• On first aid events, work with Event Managers, Treatment Centre Managers, Event Communications teams and Logistics teams, to support the welfare of adult volunteers and employees by taking proactive action. This can include making sure people are taking sufficient breaks, drinking plenty of water, eating appropriately and supporting one another. Other tasks could include helping make and serve refreshments, regularly checking to see if everyone is ok and signposting to support available through MyWellbeing, where necessary.
• Support Training and Recruitment teams on selection events, welcome events, training events and Clinical Competency Assessments, to ensure they run smoothly and are a positive experience. Thiscan include welcoming and signing in attendees, collating and processing relevant paperwork, inputting outcomes on computer programmes, providing refreshments and invigilating written assessments.
• Assist Unit Managers to increase their Unit’s presence in the local community by promoting recruitment opportunities, supporting the fundraising lead and building relationships with local organisations to raise awareness of first aid.
• Perform any other administrative and support duties commensurate with these responsibilities to keep the organisation running smoothly.

The West Sussex Falls Prevention Exercise Service is funded by West Sussex County Council and delivered by Everyone Health LTD. Everyone Health are a national commissioned provider of health and lifestyle services, with a highly skilled expert team that has extensive experience in strategic and operational management of health business at a national and European level. The West Sussex Falls Prevention Exercise Service is open to adults of ALL ages who are worried about or at risk of falls. Our specialist trained Postural Stability Instructors support participants with falls prevention strategies as part of the 24 week FAME programme that are up to date and evidence-based to ensure maximum effectiveness so people can feel more confident on their feet.

We have different venues across West Sussex in community-based classes consisting of a variety of strength and balance exercises, all delivered by our friendly Postural Stability Instructors.

The Role:

We are looking for engaging and caring volunteers to support at our sessions across West Sussex. 

This would involve supporting the Postural Stability Instructors in setting up the class e.g. setting up chairs as well as making teas, chatting to the participants and assisting in exercises where needed.

What skills do I need?

Ideally, we would like someone who is Emergency First Aid Trained and who has a passion or experience in a physical activity field. Alternatively, someone who has been through a similar falls prevention programme who would like to support with the successful service. 

However, we are open to anyone who would like to support!

Do you love music and dance? Would you like to join us and have fun with the people we support?  

We are looking for a friendly volunteer who can lead a session of dance, aerobics or exercise, and enjoy moving to music together!  

  
Activities will include:    

• Sharing your time with people we support and leading a group session of movement to music.  This can be dancing, aerobics or other ideas you would like to bring along!  

• Demonstrating dance moves and encouraging people to join in  

• Chatting away and building friendships
