Are you a big football fan who enjoys playing football as well as watching it?

We are looking for volunteer football enthusiasts to both play football and enjoy talking all things football with someone with learning disabilities and or autism.  As a volunteer you will need to be able to volunteer for a couple of hours each week.

What does the role involve?

Our football volunteers will enjoy spending time having a kick about, perhaps watching a game on TV and perhaps having a post-match discussion. Trips to watch the odd live game would also be an enjoyable experience for the people we support.

UK Feminista is looking for people committed to feminism and women’s equality to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

Founded in 2010, UK Feminista is a charitable organisation working for a society free from sexism and violence against women and girls. We campaign for systemic change so that women can enjoy their rights as enshrined in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. We exist to tackle the root causes of sex inequality. The role of the Board of Directors is to:  

• Take legal and financial responsibility in order to safeguard the assets and the continuity of UK Feminista.  

• Be satisfied that financial information is accurate and that financial management systems and controls are robust and defensible.

Level of commitment 

UK Feminista is a small organisation, so this is a hands-on Board Member role. As well as four 90-minute online board meetings a year and attending an annual in-person Away Day in London, Board Members attend additional adhoc meetings, events and provide organisational support as needed.

About the Roles

Independent/Specialist Members: Professionals who do not live on the estate but bring specific expertise to strengthen our governance.

Community Impact: Support 10 year objectives i.e. the implementation of NHS/Public Health initiatives such as neighbourhood health and wellbeing, capacity building for the local Voluntary and Community sector, employment and skills and strategic expertise in housing and welfare changes.

Governance: Attend Board meetings (at least 4–5 times per year) and contribute constructively to decision-making.

Meetings: Held at the Harford Street Multicentre, E1 or online (hybrid) 

Duration: Meetings typically last 1–2 hours and preparatory reading.

· Familiarity with open-source or low-cost digital platforms.

· Experience building membership portals or learning platform integrations.

· Basic understanding of hosting environments or server configuration.

· Experience supporting volunteer-led or safeguarding-focused digital environments.
