Our Vision is to be the leading provider of therapeutic care, education and treatment for children and young people who have experienced early childhood trauma.  ​

​​Our Mission is to transform the lives of children and young people who suffer severe emotional and psychological difficulties, so they can relate well to others and fulfil their potential. ​

​​Our Approach is a form of psychotherapeutic group living and learning modelled on healthy relationships, adapted to the developmental needs of children and young people suffering early childhood trauma. We call this Integrated Systemic Therapy (iST). ​

Role descriptions and person specification

Role description attached provides more information on the role and responsibilities.   For this Trustee role we are particularly seeking individuals with demonstrable Social Care practice experience in an organization of comparable size and scale, in particular with insights into safeguarding.

Commitment

• Each year, our Trustees are expected to attend four regular board meetings, from 5 to 7 pm in Central London. In addition, Trustees would attend potentially four meetings of any sub-committee of which they are a member. Further time is required for reading of papers before meetings.
• You would also receive invitations to various Childhood First events in the communities, which are optional but strongly encouraged to help better understand the work and feel a connection to the charity.
• We are particularly cognisant of the need to be flexible in the demands we make of Trustee colleagues. Each year there is an opportunity to meet with the Chair for mutual feedback and to discuss ways in which Trustees might wish to develop their roles.

Successful candidates will be invited to attend a board meeting will be on 15 September 2026 in Central London.

Children With Voices runs transformative programmes for children and young people across Hackney — from alternative education and SEN support to holiday hunger programmes and youth activities.

As a Volunteer Junior Youth Worker, you'll be hands-on in those sessions — supporting our team to deliver safe, fun, and empowering experiences for children and young people.

If you care about children and want to build a career in youth work, education, or social care, this is the place to start.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Support programme leads in delivering youth sessions, activities, and workshops

• Build positive, trusted relationships with children and young people

• Assist with session preparation, set-up, and clear-down

• Support children with additional needs under the guidance of experienced staff

• Help ensure all activities are safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for every child

• Contribute to a welcoming and positive session atmosphere

• Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the named lead

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

ESSENTIAL

• Genuine passion for working with children and young people

The Lucy Faithfull Foundation is looking for three exceptional Trustees to help realise our vision: a world where children live free from the threat of sexual abuse.

For over 30 years, we’ve led the way in child protection — preventing abuse before it happens, supporting families, influencing policy, and running the world‑leading Stop It Now helpline. Our work is challenging, essential, and life‑changing.

Our charity has recently grown with remarkable pace and purpose. We are proud of the progress we have made and the strong financial footing we now stand on. As several of our long‑serving trustees prepare to retire, we are seeking three exceptional individuals to join our Board and help guide the next stage of our development.

We are now recruiting:

• Research Trustee who brings enhanced research expertise to strengthen the Board’s oversight of research strategy, quality, ethics and impact.
• Finance Trustee who brings enhanced financial expertise to strengthen the Board’s oversight of financial governance.
• Scotland Representative Trustee who is based in Scotland who can strengthen our strategic presence, partnerships and governance within the Scottish context.

At Cede Foundation, we create safe, welcoming spaces where children can learn, play, build confidence and enjoy positive experiences during the school holidays.

We are looking for friendly, caring and reliable volunteers to support our holiday club activities. Volunteering with us is a great way to help children take part in fun activities, make friends and enjoy a supportive space during their school break.

As a volunteer, you will work alongside staff and other volunteers to help the day run smoothly and make sure every child feels welcome, included and encouraged.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys spending time with children, likes hands-on volunteering and wants to make a positive difference in their community.

What you will be doing

You will help make our holiday club a safe, positive and fun place for children.

Your tasks may include:

• Helping to prepare activity spaces before children arrive
• Welcoming children and families and helping with registration
• Assisting with games, creative activities, sports and group sessions
• Encouraging children to join in and feel confident taking part
• Supporting children during transitions between activities
• Helping with snacks, resources and general session coordination
• Assisting staff with attendance, feedback or simple record-keeping tasks where needed
• Helping to tidy activity spaces at the end of the day
• Promoting a friendly, inclusive and respectful atmosphere throughout the session

You will not be expected to lead sessions alone or take on staff responsibilities. A staff member or an activity leader will be there to support you throughout.

Who we are looking for

You do not need formal experience to apply, but you should be comfortable around children and willing to follow guidance.

This role could be a good match for you if:

• You enjoy working with children or would like to gain experience in this area
• You are friendly, patient and approachable
• You are reliable and able to attend the sessions you agree to support
• You work well as part of a team
• You are willing to follow guidance on safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality
• You can encourage children in a positive and respectful way
• You have an interest in community work, play, sports, arts, crafts or children’s activities

Previous experience with children, youth work, education, sports, arts or community activities is welcome but not required.

Time commitment

Our holiday club sessions run during the school holidays, usually from 10 am to 2 pm on selected programme days.

You can volunteer for one or more days, depending on your availability. You may be asked to arrive a little earlier to help with set-up and attend a short briefing before the session begins.

Reasonable out-of-pocket travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with our volunteer expenses policy.

Our next holiday club starts on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

Our St Andrews Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Our Wandsworth Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Garstang Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Skills and experiences we seek

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need any retail or shop experience as full training will be provided. What’s important to us is that you are a team player, open to learning and to follow our policies as well as be an excellent representative for Save the Children. 

We know that our shop teams are stronger when they are inclusive and representative of their communities. Everybody can make a real difference. People come to us for all sorts of reasons, from all backgrounds, and we will do what we can to find a role that works for you.

What happens next?

After you’ve filled in an application, we will invite you for an informal trial shift. It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

Come and make a difference to some young people who really need your input.

Go Beyond are a national UK charity giving children who have been bereaved, abused or bullied, who are living in poverty or caring for loved ones the chance to escape their worries and pressures through free breaks in the countryside. We need volunteers to help us deliver fun, creative and adventurous activities throughout the year.

Go Beyond’s centres in Essex, the Cornish coastline, and on the edge of the Peak District are where vulnerable young people facing various challenges in their life come for a week of freedom and fun. Running Monday-Friday throughout the year, our breaks give children and young people the chance for time away from the worries of their everyday life, to make friends, try new things, build confidence, and ultimately go home inspired by what the world can offer them and what they, in turn, can offer the world.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

As a breaks volunteer, you will be part of a team, including trained Break Leaders, and will support by being an extra pair of eyes and ears, and a helping hand where needed. You will spend time with the young people attending Go Beyond and help ensure they have a positive week full of experiences and memories that will last a lifetime!

Full training and support will be given throughout. We have a wide variety of volunteer roles available and key responsibilities can include:

• Helping the Break Leaders with day-to-day tasks, such as setting up activities and keeping the centre tidy
• Assisting at mealtimes with preparing, serving, and cleaning
• Leading planned activities based on your skills with support from Break Leaders (such as baking, sports games, gardening, arts and crafts etc.)
• Capturing photos of special moments for the young people (using Go Beyond cameras only)
• Accompanying our driver to collect or drop off groups and supervise behaviour on the buses
• To be a positive role model and lead by example at all times
• To be encouraging and supportive to the young people and take an interest in each child
• To take part in the activities alongside the young people
• To be aware of boundaries and know when it is important to enforce these
• To inform the Break Leaders of any issues or concerns you have relating to the young people or the break experience
• To contribute to personalised messages which the young people receive in their goody bags as a lasting memory of their Go Beyond break
• To read, sign and ensure Safeguarding and Health and Safety Policies and Reporting Procedures are followed, and contribute to Go Beyond Hazard Analysis Critical Control Principles, Risk Assessment and Quality Assurance processes.

Time commitment

A break will run Monday to Friday, various weeks throughout the year

• Two successful references will be required
• A successful DBS check would need to be completed (we pay, but you will need to prove your ID at the Post Office, which costs £12)
• A 30 minute online induction session
• Discussion of which break, where and when.
