This includes volunteer travel expenses, phone bills, publicity, and grants for clients in urgent need. A varied programme of fundraising also keeps the SSAFA profile high in the local community, so everyone knows who we are and how we can help.

When would you be needed and where would you be based?

This role involves being out and about at public events and would suit someone looking to give the occasional day, half day or evening to support SSAFA; when and where would be flexible to suit you.

What would you be doing?

• Be part of a team with collection/buckets tins at events, supermarkets, shopping centres, etc.
• Acting as a marshal at a public event e.g., handing out water to runners, supervising parking etc.
• Being part of a team running a stall at an event, Armed Forces Day, fayre, county show etc.
• Helping with putting up posters, building gazebos, serving refreshments, packing/unpacking cars etc.
• Being a positive ambassador for SSAFA, engaging people of all backgrounds and interests
• Volunteering within the standards and values of SSAFA including observing our policies such as the Volunteering policy and data protection policy (these will be covered in your training and local induction.)

The remit of this role may change over the next 12-18 months depending on the outcome of a trial currently being undertaken.

Customer Service / Receptionist Volunteer

We’re looking for a friendly volunteer in our Guildford office on Wednesdays to be the first point of contact for our clients coming in seeking advice.

 What will you do?

• Complete an introduction to Citizens Advice South West Surrey (CASWS)
• Complete required training for your role
• Provide a customer facing reception service to clients who drop in to see us in our Guildford office, including:
  • Ensuring relevant forms are completed
  • Assigning clients to Advisers for more detailed support
  • Booking appointments
  • Monitoring the flow of clients in the drop in
  • Assist clients with form filling
  • Complete day sheets
  • Scan and upload documents to case recording system
  • Write up notes on case recording system
  • When the drop-in service is at full capacity, ensuring that you understand the clients’ issue and support them by providing information, signposting them to another more appropriate organisation or asking them to attend another CASWS drop in.
• Complete administrative duties including:
  • Monitoring emails
  • Processing client enquiries both by email and phone
  • Sending out appointment information
  • Provide Advisers with admin support, where required
  • Other ad hoc tasks to support the day to day running of our service

We're looking for someone who can volunteer on Wednesdays, ideally between 9am and 4pm, though we are happy to discuss volunteering between 9.30am and 3.30pm as well.

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C. is seeking a Founding Volunteer Analytics & Performance Officer to design and oversee the ethical performance framework that will guide our digital decision-making.

This is not a corporate analytics role.
It is an impact and accountability role.

Our C.I.C. exists to confront and expose the realities of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), centre survivor truth and accountability, support young people into economic empowerment, and build community-owned, open-source systems that serve people rather than capital.

About the Role

As our Founding Analytics & Performance Officer, you will design, coordinate, and maintain the C.I.C.’s digital performance and reporting systems during the build and early growth phase.

Would you like the opportunity to volunteer with a national charity raising awareness and funds for the thousands of people affected by dual sensory loss in the UK?

We are looking for friendly, outgoing people with good communication skills to join our Community Fundraising Team.

What we'd like you to do.....

You will use your enthusiasm, great interpersonal skills and independent working abilities to support our team and to raise money for Deafblind UK in your community. This could involve running a fundraising event like a pub quiz, manning a stall at an event, taking collections or putting up posters. Whatever your background, if you want to make a difference then we want to hear from you!

This is a flexible role that allows you to do as much or as little as you want to do and an opportunity to make good use of your own skills, have a go at new activities and gain knowledge of fundraising in the charity sector.

By sharing your skills and time, you will help us to reach and help more people living with sight and hearing loss.

We ensure all volunteers who join our team are well equipped to undertake any tasks and will provide training and supervision throughout your journey with us. Any specific training will be outlined within your onboarding and induction stages and then discussed at your reviews with your named lead contact.

All materials to support your role will be supplied by Deafblind UK, including a fundraising pack with ideas for raising money and all the information you might need. The Fundraising Team will also be on hand to provide ongoing support, advice, and guidance.

Deafblindness affects everyone in different ways. Some people might have mild sight and hearing loss whereas others can’t see or hear anything. It can be isolating and lonely and can lead to mental health issues - but it’s far more common than many people realise. Around 450,000 people are affected by sight and hearing loss in the UK.
