Key tasks

• Assist in the planning and logistics of events (e.g., seminars, workshops, fundraising dinners, and youth programs).

We are hosting a Christmas extravaganza for disabled families in Windsor and Woking this November and December. We aim to bring the magic and sensory aspects of the festive period but in a relaxed environment, where everyone understands. These event will be for disabled children, young people and their families to come along and and enjoy a fun filled sensory extravaganza. And we need extra peopel to support our team to make it all work. We will be running at least 3 Merry Moments events 2 in Windsor and 1 in Wokingham.

The Role - Volunteer Content and Donor Communication Specialists

JOB PURPOSE

This role exists to:

•        Craft and manage communications for donors, stakeholders, and the wider community

•        Translate survivor-led stories and CIC activities into impactful messaging

•        Develop content for emails, newsletters, social media, and fundraising campaigns

•        Support the Fundraising Director in building donor relationships through clear, engaging, and ethical communication

Community Liaison Officer

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. We are looking for an individual who embodies the spirit of CAG and continually keeps the integrity and goals of the organisation at the forefront of every decision that they make as part of their role.  To ensure we meet our goal of improving the well-being of young people and being a part of our local community we need to increase our reach. We’re looking for a volunteer Community Ambassador to play a vital role in helping us reach new audiences, form new partnerships and maintain current arrangements, raise awareness and generate income.

You will seek out opportunities to speak to and build relationships with community groups, organisations and businesses, raising awareness of our work and encouraging action through giving, campaigning and volunteering.

In addition to public speaking opportunities, you may attend events on our behalf, such as business networking meetings, fundraising events, community fetes, galas and more.

You will work closely with the CAG Management Committee for support and help mapping out opportunities within the local community and beyond.

  • Identify event opportunities, including conferences, product launches, fundraisers, and internal engagements, to achieve strategic objectives.

• Event Design & Execution:

  • Lead the planning and execution of all events, ensuring seamless logistics, creative concepts, and high-quality delivery.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure event themes, messaging, and objectives are aligned with organizational priorities.

• Budget Management:

  • Manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Track expenses, negotiate vendor contracts, and identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, venues, and partners to ensure successful event execution.

  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to meet quality standards and timelines.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the event planning team to achieve excellence in execution.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, ensuring clear communication and accountability.

• Event Marketing & Promotion:

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events, including developing promotional materials, social media campaigns, and press outreach.

  • Ensure a strong event presence across digital and physical platforms to maximize attendance and engagement.

• Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Measure event success through post-event reporting, feedback collection, and KPIs.

  • Use insights to refine event planning processes and improve future events.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Community-Oriented: A deep understanding of the Muslim community in Ontario, especially in relation to university students and local mosques.

• Relationship Building: Proven experience in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, from students to community leaders.

Love being out in the community and meeting new dogs? We are looking for friendly and organised volunteers to run fun dog shows at local events, helping to raise funds for our animals. 

This is a flexible role, great if you’re not able to volunteer regularly. Most events are on weekends or bank holidays over the spring and summer.

What you’ll be doing

• Working in a small team to run a fun dog show. Preparing for the event and driving to the venue in our van.
• Setting up the ring, registering dogs, judging classes and chatting to people about our work.

What you’ll need

• Comfortable being around all kinds of dogs and reading their behaviour
• Confident and engaging, able to announce to groups and talk to people individually
• Good level of fitness and mobility, happy being on your feet for long periods

Why we want you

As branch secretary you help coordinate a range of activities and a calendar of events to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community. To ensure that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

What you will be doing

• Communication with branch volunteers
• Providing timely reports and information to SSAFA’s central office
• Co-ordinating a programme of meetings including an AGM, branch meetings, committee meetings, training etc..
