Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK's leading charity dedicated to uniting for a life unlimited for everyone affected by cystic fibrosis (CF). CF is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting over 11,000 people across the UK. We fund vital research, campaign for access to life-changing treatments, and provide support to people living with CF and their families. 

About the Role

Every year, incredible supporters across the UK raise funds for people affected by cystic fibrosis. We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help us celebrate, support and encourage those fundraisers in their local communities, ensuring they feel valued and connected to Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

By volunteering with us, you'll help ensure fundraisers feel valued and supported, and we'll give you everything you need to feel confident in the role. Full training and support will be provided. 

• Community-based in your local area

As a Community Fundraising Volunteer, you'll play an important role in helping us build relationships with fundraisers and supporters in your local area. Whether you're attending events, thanking supporters, delivering fundraising resources or sharing local insight, you'll help ensure fundraisers feel appreciated and connected to the impact they're having.

• Flexible time commitment

This is a flexible, ongoing volunteer opportunity that can fit around your existing commitments. 

What You'll Be Doing

You could support us in a variety of ways, including:

• Attending fundraising events and representing Cystic Fibrosis Trust in your local area. 
• Thanking supporters and organisers, including giving a short speech if you're comfortable doing so. 
• Delivering and collecting fundraising materials and resources. 
• Collecting and returning collection tins and donation boxes securely.
• Sharing local knowledge and helping identify potential fundraising or partnership opportunities. 
• Providing occasional support to Community Fundraisers with local fundraising activities and events.

We recognise that every volunteer brings different strengths, experiences and interests, and aspects of the role can be tailored accordingly. 

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for people who:

• Are enthusiastic about supporting the work of Cystic Fibrosis Trust. 
• Enjoy meeting and communicating with a variety of people. 
• Have a friendly, positive and people-centred approach. 
• Feel comfortable working independently, while knowing support is available when needed. 
• Have basic IT skills and access to email and a phone. 
• Are willing and able to travel locally to support fundraising activities.

Experience in fundraising or volunteering is helpful but not essential. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of cystic fibrosis, either directly or through a family member, although this is not a requirement.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is looking for a Trustee with senior fundraising, supporter engagement and income generation experience to join our Board.

This voluntary role is an opportunity to use your expertise to help shape the future of a life-saving charity. As a Trustee, you'll provide strategic oversight, constructive challenge and specialist governance, helping to ensure we can continue delivering critical care to people across the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

You won't be involved in delivering fundraising activity day to day. Instead, you'll work alongside fellow Trustees to scrutinise strategy, monitor performance, oversee risk and ensure our fundraising remains ethical, effective and aligned with our mission.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people with senior experience in fundraising, development, external engagement or income generation within the charity, social enterprise, public benefit or purpose-led sectors.

You will bring experience in:

· Fundraising strategy and income diversification

· Donor stewardship, supporter journeys and campaign planning

· Fundraising governance, compliance and ethical practice

· Board-level thinking, constructive challenge and sound judgement

· Building relationships and acting as an ambassador for a mission-led organisation

Time commitment

The Board meets at least four times a year, plus a strategy day. Trustees are encouraged to sit on two Board Committees, with additional contact usually taking place by email, telephone or Microsoft Teams.

About The Stray Cat Charity (TSCC)

The Stray Cat Charity is a newly established UK-registered CIO working to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome stray cats in Greece, starting in Patras. Our current priority campaign is to raise £35,000 to build a dedicated stray cat shelter in Patras, Greece, which will provide safe housing, veterinary care, and a pathway to adoption for vulnerable cats. As a growing new charity, we are building our fundraising and outreach network across the UK.

Role Purpose

We are looking for a motivated volunteer to support the growth of our charity by helping identify and connect with potential supporters in their local area. This includes community groups, schools, corporates, and potential major donors who may be interested in supporting or fundraising for stray cats in Greece. The aim of this role is to help generate awareness, build relationships, and support fundraising activity for our current and future campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

The volunteer may support with:

• Researching local community groups, schools, faith groups, and businesses
• Identifying potential corporate partners and supporters in their region
• Contacting organisations to introduce The Stray Cat Charity and its mission
• Encouraging groups to support the charity through donations or fundraising
• Promoting our current campaign to raise £35,000 for a stray cat shelter in Patras, Greece
• Supporting or initiating community fundraising activities where appropriate (e.g. sponsored events, school fundraisers, awareness campaigns)
• Helping to raise awareness of stray cat welfare issues in Greece through local outreach

Fundraising Volunteer

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. We are looking for an individual who embodies the spirit of CAG and continually keeps the integrity and goals of the organisation at the forefront of every decision that they make as part of their role.  Because we work in a self-funded way, we need new resources to keep our organisation alive and to be able to offer a wide range of outdoor activities to our members.

We are looking for a remote based or local volunteer who ideally has experience in grant / bid writing and / or experience of working with young people.  This is a very flexible role which can be carried out at home and in your free time.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Communicating and building relationships with current and potential donors.

• Organise established fundraising activities, such as our legendary CAG car wash. 

• Develop new and imaginative fundraising activities, many of which involve organising events to raise awareness of the charity and its activities e.g. giving talks to groups or seeking photo opportunities with the media. 

• Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising, online auctions and merchandise sales. 

• Manage all aspects of grant bids: research potential donors, establish requirements of the grant, create a bid (in conjunction with other CAG staff) that meets the terms and conditions of the grant, submit bid and implement successful bids, report progress where required back to grant givers.

• Oversee corporate fundraising, including employee giving and matched giving from employers. 

• Manage and update databases to record donor contact and preference information. 

• Write applications and mail-shots, using direct mailing to reach a range of potential and current donors. 

• Researching and contacting new sources of funding.

• Drafting proposals for projects, activities and equipment.

About the location

Where will the volunteer be working?

The volunteer will work from home will be required to attend meetings within the Solihull area.

Travel Limit

This role is partly remote but ideally the candidate should be available for face to face Committee and other meetings.

When will the volunteer be working?

Volunteer availability

• Flexible to suit you.

• You would need to be available to attend Committee meetings which normally take place in the evening.

• Occasional weekends to attend events.

Estimate of time commitment

• 0 - 3 hours / week - the candidate will be able to offer further time as they wish.
