We will be opening with a beautiful new look and are now seeking an amazing volunteer team to support us as we prepare for our grand opening.

We’re passionate about what we do, and love giving second-hand clothing a chance of going to a good home. Our shop teams are key to raising vital funds for our work and act as incredible advocates for the rights of children both in the UK and around the world.

Please note that this is a voluntary, unpaid role, based in the UK. We are unfortunately not able to provide support with visa requests. Candidates must be over 18 to apply.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Lymington Shop Volunteers will be in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

The Volunteer Opportunity: Volunteer Trainer (Volunteer)

As one of our first-ever Volunteer Trainers, you won’t just be "delivering information"—you will be the catalyst for growth. You will be responsible for training, growing, and developing our close-knit team of amazing, inspiring, and dedicated volunteers, ensuring they have the skills and the mindset to support men on their journey to better mental health.

The Volunteer Role

Working alongside the Founder and the leadership team, you will design and lead our volunteer development programmes. From onboarding new members of the tribe to providing ongoing personal growth workshops, you will ensure our volunteers are the most capable, compassionate, and resilient team in the sector.

Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) are at the heart of the cadet experience. As a CFAV, you will guide and support young people, lead or assist in training sessions, and help create a safe, supportive and rewarding environment. You can volunteer as a uniformed or non-uniformed instructor - no military experience is required, all training will be provided.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support, mentor and encourage cadets, helping them build confidence and life skills
• Assist with planning and delivering training sessions, including subjects such as; first aid, map reading and navigation, fieldcraft, drill and turnout, expedition and adventure training, leadership tasks and teamwork
• Participate in community events, remembrance parades, competitions and weekend activities and residential camps.
• Help with cadet development, assessments and progression as set out in the Army Cadet Syllabus.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to deliver a varied and engaging programme

Skills & Experience (Not Essential):

• Experience of working with young people (youth work, teaching, coaching or similar)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Leadership, organisation or teamwork abilities
• Enthusiasm, patience and willingness to learn

If you have none of the above - don’t worry. We provide full training, support and mentoring.

About the Army Cadets

The Army Cadet Force is a national, community-based youth organisation that provides young people aged 12–18 with opportunities to challenge themselves, learn new skills and grow in confidence. Through a variety of activities, both military-themed and non-military-themed adventurous activities, teamwork, leadership training and community engagement, cadets develop resilience and skills that last a lifetime. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our amazing adult volunteers.

British Liver Trust | Central Winchester

In the UK there are more than 11,000 deaths due to liver disease each year. British Liver Trust is determined to achieve real change in liver health and during our busiest period ever, we’re looking for volunteers to support our small, friendly Admin Team within the Operations Department. 

You might be looking for a meaningful way to use your skills, stay professionally active, or gain hands-on experience in an office environment.  Whether you're looking to build your CV, you're between roles, or you're looking to contribute your time to a cause that really matters, we’d love to hear from you.

The role

This is a varied, practical role supporting a busy office. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day administrative work that keeps things running smoothly, particularly when workloads are high. Examples of tasks include:

• Order fulfilment; picking, packing patient booklets and materials, preparing to be posted

• Supporting the team preparing for upcoming events; travel arrangements, accommodation, venues, catering

• General admin; filing, stock taking, shredding, scanning

While this is a volunteer role, the work is meaningful, active, and very much part of the core team.   You don’t need to have worked in a charity before - you just need a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to get involved.

You’ll be based in our welcoming office in central Winchester, just a 5–10 minute walk from the train station. Please note there is no free on-site parking.

Our Admin Team is small, friendly and collaborative. You’ll be joining us at a critical and exciting time, when extra hands genuinely make a difference.

The Army Cadet Force is a national, community-based youth organisation that provides young people aged 12–18 with opportunities to challenge themselves, learn new skills and grow in confidence. Through a variety of activities, both military-themed and non-military-themed adventurous activities, teamwork, leadership training and community engagement, cadets develop resilience and skills that last a lifetime. Volunteer Researcher – Yellow Wood Project

Location: Remote (UK-based preferred)

About Us

We are a mission-driven Community Interest Company dedicated to early intervention against online harms and the prevention of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSEA) and violence against women and girls (VAWG). Rooted in a behavioural science approach combined with systems thinking, we work to understand the contemporary online context for children and young people and pathways to engaging with harmful content, develop evidence-based interventions which support healthier sexual and social development, and create safer communities through primary and secondary prevention.

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Volunteer Researcher to help us on our Insight and Understanding workstream; conducting primary and secondary research as well as providing guidance on commissioned research. This is a key voluntary role for someone with a background in social research who wants to use their skills to make a measurable difference in a sensitive but vital area of public benefit, increasingly recognised as an urgent issue and one in receipt of growing governmental attention.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on experience and availability, responsibilities may include:

• Conducting desk-based research and literature reviews (academic, policy, and grey literature)
• Contributing to the establishment of the organisation’s Research Ethics Policy
• Supporting the design of research projects, including research questions, methods, and tools
• Assisting with data collection (e.g. surveys, interviews, focus groups), where appropriate
• Supporting data analysis (qualitative and/or quantitative)
• Summarising findings into clear written outputs (briefings, reports, blogs, or presentations)
• Supporting evidence gathering for funding applications, policy submissions, or advocacy work
• Contributing to the maintenance of research logs, references, and documentation
• Adhering to the organisation’s research ethics and data protection policies at all times

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Experience in social research, public policy, or social impact
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Willingness to follow ethical research standards
• Alignment with the organisation’s mission and values
• Ability to work on highly sensitive topics related to issues including: pornography, violence, sexual offending, and misogyny.

Desirable

• Undergraduate or postgraduate study (completed or ongoing) in a relevant field (e.g. social sciences, psychology, criminology, education, public health, data science)
• Familiarity with research methods such as surveys, interviews, and digital ethnography
• Experience conducting literature reviews or academic research
• Thematic data analysis skills
• Understanding of issues relating to online harms, child safety, or digital wellbeing and familiarity with safeguarding  
• Familiarity with behaviour change frameworks (e.g. COM-B, Behaviour Change Wheel)

Time Commitment

• Approximately 10-20 hours per month
• Flexible schedule, with occasional online meetings
• Project-based with ability to work on discrete project or ongoing basis, as preferred

Volunteer Board Member (Director)
ArtClusiv is seeking an experienced and committed board member to help guide our mission and shape our long term impact. This role is ideal for someone with leadership experience in the arts, community development, creative industries, nonprofit governance, or cultural equity work.

Role Overview
As a board member, you will provide strategic oversight and help ensure that ArtClusiv continues to grow in a focused, values driven direction. Your guidance will support our goals of increasing visibility, strengthening partnerships, and securing funding to expand our programmes and opportunities for BIPOC creatives.
You will work closely with the founder and fellow directors to advise on organisational development, sustainability, grant applications, stakeholder engagement, and ethical governance.

Key Responsibilities
• Offer strategic advice to help shape the long term direction of ArtClusiv
• Support funding strategy and help identify grant opportunities and partnership prospects
• Provide oversight on governance, risk management, and community accountability
• Champion the mission and act as an ambassador for ArtClusiv in your networks
• Attend quarterly board meetings and contribute actively to decision making
• Share expertise that strengthens our impact in visibility, outreach, and equity
• Support the founder in navigating nonprofit challenges and building organisational resilience

What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience in a board, director, or governance role (nonprofit or creative sector preferred)
• Knowledge of arts, culture, community development, or social impact
• Strong understanding of BIPOC representation in the arts and the systemic challenges creatives face
• Strategic thinking, leadership ability, and a collaborative approach
• Commitment to anti discrimination, fairness, and inclusive creative spaces
