THE ROLE — VOLUNTEER IT & DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGER
We’re looking for a Volunteer IT & Digital Infrastructure Manager to help build the simple, safe, reliable digital systems that will support SUNSHINE as we grow.
This is a hands‑on, practical role for someone who loves making technology work smoothly for people — especially in a start‑up environment where everything is being built from scratch.
You’ll help create the digital foundations that keep our volunteers connected, our information secure, and our operations running with confidence.
As our Volunteer IT & Digital Infrastructure Manager, you will:
1. Build and Maintain Core Digital Systems

Citizens Advice Winchester District is a dynamic, values-led, and award-winning local charity which is passionate about creating a fairer society for all.
We do this by helping people to resolve a wide range of problems they’re facing, so that everyone can achieve a good quality of life.Every year, we provide free, confidential and impartial advice on issues such as debt, housing, benefits and employment advice to people across the Winchester district, many of whom are in desperate or challenging situations and have nowhere else to turn. Previous experience of Citizens Advice, or of being a Trustee (or equivalent), would be advantageous, but the commitment and enthusiasm to help us shape the work and strategic direction of our forward-thinking charity is essential.
We would be particularly interested to hear from people with experience in HR (especially those with current CIPD membership), Charitable Trust and Foundation fundraising, and change management.

The Online Fundraising and Campaign Manager ensures that all digital campaigns—from social media drives to crowdfunding initiatives—are strategically designed, executed, and optimised for impact. Purpose of the role
In this important role, you will be responsible for assessing the eligibility of applicants for our grants and services, in adherence with Variety’s structured grant management approach (guided interviews, weighted scoring and panel review) to maximise impact for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.
You will be required to handle grant applications and supporting information with the utmost confidentiality, following organisational policies to ensure the privacy and security of all sensitive and personal information.
Using our defined eligibility criteria and assessment tools, you will evaluate applications and conduct fair and consistent assessments, making award recommendations to support the decision-making process. You will bring an independent voice, playing a key role in ensuring that decisions are made fairly, equitably and transparently and will be required to support your recommendations with evidence of sound analysis and reasoning.
Key Responsibilities
• Review applications and supporting evidence prepared by the case management team.
• Clarify points with applicants when required (within agreed boundaries).

Communications Officer (Volunteer)
EQUAL AQUA is an award-winning NGO providing equal access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in Uganda. Equal Aqua is managed by an international team of 30+ volunteers, based mainly in the UK and Uganda, but spanning over 10 countries.
We are looking to expand and diversify our team of volunteers – seeking candidates with knowledge and skills in various fields, and a deep passion for our cause.

Role Profile
Join us as part of our Communications team to help deliver powerful content for our internal & external communications strategy. You will be working alongside the Communications Manager & Communications Officer to develop our digital content & increase our presence on social media platforms. Provide creative support for enhancing donor prospects, generating demand & increasing engagement through compelling narratives to support EAU projects & fundraising initiatives.

- Write engaging, accessible copy for social media posts, blogs, and newsletter updates.

Lead Volunteer Role Description
- To update the Volunteers’ Rota from the Court diary and ensure that each Volunteer in the team and the CCSS office has a copy. Wherever possible, the Rota should be kept on a computer for updating and emailed to the rest of the team and the office.
- Ensure sufficient numbers of Volunteers are on duty for effective and appropriate support for bereaved families and witnesses who attend the Inquests.
- To arrange and re-arrange the Rota between the Volunteers, noting any holiday or leave of absence dates.
- Ensure a finalised Rota is sent to the office at the end of each month in order for volunteer expenses to be checked and processed.
- To ensure that all the Volunteers have each other’s contact details and the Volunteer emergency contact details are included in the court file and updated when changes occur.
- To ensure monthly and yearly statistics are kept up to date and to send the Monthly Statistics to the Volunteer who collates the stats at the end of each month.
- To ensure there are sufficient Report Forms for the Volunteers’ use if collecting stats in paper format. If alternative methods of collecting stats are used, to ensure that the team are all using the same method.

The role of trustees and the Treasurer
Being a trustee is a rewarding role. The Treasurer takes a lead role in ensuring Rainbow Migration’s financial affairs are conducted within legal requirements, accounting conventions and good practice to ensure the financial viability and sustainable development of the organisation. Time commitment
We are looking for people who can commit to being a trustee for at least three years.
Trustees meet on a weekday evening five times per year. Meetings are usually held on Zoom except in December when we meet in person in London.
Preparation for the meetings involves a time commitment of two to four hours for detailed reading of papers, which are provided several days in advance.
The Treasurer also chairs the Finance Subcommittee, which meets on a weekday evening at the end of each quarter. The present Treasurer prepares the primary financial statements and notes, from the underlying accounting records at the year-end, for inclusion in the Annual Report and Accounts; the successful candidate will need to decide whether to continue with this approach or if there is a suitable alternative.
Key responsibilities
Financial oversight:
- Support the Trustee Board to maintain a clear and timely picture of the financial health of the organisation
- Ensure the Trustee Board and management team fulfil all required fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities
- Keep up to date on developments in charity finance regulations and best practice
- Chair the Finance Subcommittee to oversee Rainbow Migration’s financial management, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place
