Our mission is simple: smash social isolation and loneliness through pure positivity, vibrant events, and bubbly, high-energy human connection.

While our front-line team is hitting the streets with bubble machines and sunshine benches, we need an invisible crew of creative superheroes to build our vibe behind the scenes.

Roles We Are Looking For:

• Graphic Designers: Help us design vibrant social media templates, quote cards, and merch that pop!
• Social Media Storytellers: Help us turn our real-life event photos into joyful, engaging TikToks, Reels, or grid posts.
• Copywriters/Editors: Help us polish our newsletters, volunteer shout-outs, or community stories.

The Commitment:

• Completely Remote: Work from anywhere, anytime.
• Micro-Volunteering: Just 1 to 2 hours a week (or even per month!). We fit entirely around your job, studies, or freelance life.
• Pure Freedom: No rigid corporate guidelines. We want your boldest, brightest, and most creative ideas.

About Roots Academy

Roots Academy's Vision.
A generation of young Muslims who embody and promote a God-centred way of life. At Roots Academy, we've built a learning experience that's changing the lives of the ummah's future leaders, change-makers, and visionaries. Our mission is to deliver a structured and transformative education in the Essentials of Islam in a way that lowers barriers to access, develops deep certainty, and inspires action.

Why does Roots Academy exist?
 

Crisis of Faith: 1 in 4 young Muslims are leaving the religion due to various factors, primarily the pervasive anti-religious content and temptations they encounter online and oine.

Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that provokes thought and action.

Role Summary

To bring our vision to life, you will play a key role in shaping how Roots Academy tells its story visually. As a Videographer, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality video content that supports our educational programs, strengthens our online presence, and helps our message resonate deeply with audiences across digital platforms.

Key Tasks

• Plan, film, and capture high-quality video content for social media, campaigns, events, interviews, and educational content.
• Work collaboratively with content leads, marketers, and editors to deliver video assets aligned with campaign goals.
• Set up and manage camera, audio, and lighting equipment as needed for shoots.
• Ensure all footage is captured in line with Roots Academy's visual style and brand guidelines.
• Organise, label, and maintain video files and footage libraries in shared drives.
• Support with basic shot planning, scene composition, and creative direction where needed.

What we're looking for:

• Passion for Islamic education and contributing to the development of young Muslims.
• Strong videography skills with experience using cameras, audio equipment, and lighting setups.
• A good eye for composition, storytelling, and visual detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage shoots efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and openness to feedback.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once.
• Be able to bring their own equipment.
