We offer short term home visits, counselling sessions, practical & emotional One to One support, Domestic violence groups, Awareness raising workshops and drop in or chat groups to help women facing crises or challenging situations.

Purpose of Volunteer Role

The Women & Families Resource Centre has always relied on the dedication and skills of volunteers to offer practical & emotional support to women & families. As the charity grows, we require volunteers to participate in fundraising roles to help us generate much-needed income to continue to help the numerous families we support every year. We are increasing our community fundraising goals and this is an exciting time to help us grow.

Task Description

Fundraising volunteers will take part in a variety of activities to raise money for WFRC - some planned at the start of the year, and some arising during the year. Activities may include volunteering at our fundraising sales or car boot sales; helping at our fundraising events; doing bucket collections; helping at corporate fundraising events; or working with the grants team to seek material donations.

Our charity shop helps us raise funds so we can provide our services to the people who need us. The shop heavily relies on a team of volunteers to help run it and support our staff. By helping out in our shop, you can make a difference to vulnerable & disadvantaged women and their families in Wolverhampton.

We are looking for a volunteer delivery driver who will work as part of our friendly team to collect & deliver essential items such as clothing, food and toiletries to local families in need.

Task Description

his is an opportunity to undertake a satisfying and rewarding role. As part of our team of volunteers, you will collect and transfer donations for the charity, providing an extremely useful and appreciated service to the Charity. You should have the use of your own car and hold a full driving licence. 

Principal Responsibilities: 

• To pick up / collect donated stock from donors.

• To deliver stock to the charity or to clients.

• To transfer donations between our donors and the shop or clients.

• To contribute to a non-judgemental and safe space.

• Pick up supplies for charities. 

• To ensure you have an understanding (appropriate to your role) of, and comply with WFRC’s procedures.

• To comply with WFRC’s Health and Safety Policy, Data Protection Policy and to protect your own and others’ health, safety and welfare.

• To manage the effective monitoring and evaluation of the service.

To manage and grow our social media presence through creative content, audience engagement, and analysing audience engagement to help amplify WFRC’s mission.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Help create, implement, and maintain a social media strategy and content plan
• Use social media platforms to promote the activities, impact, and achievements of WFRC
• Keep social media channels regularly updated with engaging and relevant content
• Encourage audience interaction by increasing comments, shares, and engagement across platforms
• Ensure communications reach a wide range of local stakeholders and diverse audiences
• Develop and manage content for our website and social media platforms, including Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
• Identify and select the most effective channels to engage our diverse audiences
• Stay up to date with WFRC events, projects, and news, identifying key opportunities for promotion across social media channels
• Develop publicity materials and communication approaches to better engage underrepresented communities
• Visit projects and attend events to gather content and write articles or stories for our blog and online platforms
• Manage the organisation, filing, and archiving of photographs, videos, and other digital media content

Qualifications:

• Experience managing social media accounts for a charity, organisation, business, personal project, or student initiative is preferred.
• Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, and YouTube.
• Experience using content creation and design tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Creative thinking skills with the ability to develop new ideas, campaigns, and promotional content.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, and community members.
• Interest or experience in community work, charities, or social impact initiatives is desirable.

Overall responsibility involves developing links within the community, especially with socially isolated or disadvantaged women & families & other stakeholders. Attending community events and activities, engaging with and enabling women to access activities at the centre, developing links within the communities, co-ordinating the service delivery and measuring impact of WFRC activities to maximize community impact.

Task Description
