London City Mission serves the church of London in sharing the love of God and the good news of Jesus Christ with the communities least likely to hear the Gospel.
One in three people don’t have a Christian friend to invite them to church, open a Bible with them, or tell them the good news of Jesus. We want to see that change. The poor areas of London are incredibly diverse, in fact London is the most ethnically diverse in the world, growing at over 100,000 people a year. The world has come to London – we long to see the Gospel taken to the world by working alongside churches to visit homes and go out into the streets of London with the good news of the Gospel.
Our monthly team gatherings are full of testimonies of how God is working amongst the communities least likely to hear the Gospel, and our deep conviction is that much more needs to be done – and can be done – at this urgent hour for London.
We are seeking to make up to five appointments; a mixture of Trustees (likely time commitment: 10-12 days a year) and Independent Sub-Committee Members (likely time commitment: 4 days a year). Individuals who bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Safeguarding – someone with safeguarding expertise who can provide strategic oversight, ensure robust policies and reporting procedures, and champion a culture of safety across the organisation.
HR - someone with HR expertise who can support organisational people practices, strengthen workforce policies, and provide strategic insight on recruitment, performance, and staff wellbeing.
Fundraising – someone with fundraising expertise who can guide income-generation strategy, strengthen donor relationships, and support LCM to diversify and grow its funding base.
Property – someone with professional property expertise who can advise on asset optimisation, and support strategic decisions regarding sales, leases, and maintenance.
Finance – most likely a qualified Accountant with strategic financial leadership skills and a passion to see resources deployed for Kingdom-purpose.
Through these roles the successful candidate will be able to make a difference in London for the salvation of souls and to the glory of God.

What’s involved
Being a trustee is a simple but highly impactful way to support your local squadron:
- Attend quarterly meetings (around two hours each)
- Discuss finances, fundraising, priorities, and squadron activities
- Take part in decisions, especially financial and strategic matters
- Support events, networking, or community initiatives
Typical commitment: 8-12 hours per year.
Who we’re looking for
Trustees come from all walks of life. No military, youth work, or charity experience is required. Trustees actively participate in meetings and decisions – there’s no obligation to take on an elected role.
Eligibility:
- Must be 20 years or older.
- Must have lived in the UK for 3 or more years.
Useful skills (optional but welcomed):
- Finance, budgeting, or business management
- Fundraising or grant writing
- Event planning or project management
- Governance, committee, or leadership experience
- Local networks or community connections
We particularly welcome:

Lead Bradford Hospitals Charity at a Transformative Moment
Bradford Hospitals Charity is on the brink of an extraordinary transformation. As we prepare to become a fully independent charity, we are seeking a bold, visionary, and inspiring Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and help shape the next chapter in our history.
Currently, the charity is governed through an NHS Corporate Trustee model, with Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT) acting as Corporate Trustee. While this arrangement has provided strong foundations and close alignment with the Trust, the move to independence represents a significant step forward in the charity’s maturity and ambition.
Becoming independent will enable Bradford Hospitals Charity to operate with greater agility, open up additional routes to funding, strengthen external partnerships, and further develop its own identity and governance- while continuing to work in close collaboration with BTHFT to support patients, staff, and communities.
As part of this journey, the incoming Chair will play a pivotal role in leading the charity through its transition to independence. This will include chairing a Shadow Board during the transition period, overseeing the establishment of independent governance arrangements, and leading the recruitment of a diverse, skilled, and high-performing Trustee Board to take the charity forward once independence is achieved.
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make a tangible difference to healthcare in Bradford and the surrounding communities.

CAFOD Advisor Recruitment - Strategy Performance Committee (SPC)
Role
Committee member, providing expert fundraising expertise to this Committee of the Board, alongside Trustees and other expert advisors. The SPC exercises governance activities on behalf of the Board and provides recommendations to the Board. The remit of the SPC covers CAFOD’s strategy to recruit and engage donors and supporters, and its global programmatic work, so covers both CAFOD’s international activities as well as the work within the Catholic Community in England and Wales.
Essential Criteria
- Professional fundraising expert with experience in the Charity sector
- Experience of multiple income portfolio management and strategy - particularly fundraising from the public (individual giving, legacy fundraising, community fundraising, major donor engagement etc.)
- Respect for the goals, ethos and culture of CAFOD
Advantageous
- An understanding of fundraising in a faith context
- Familiarity with Fundraising Regulator best practice & or a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising
- Knowledge of fundraising for international causes
Time commitment
- Four half-day meetings a year, currently two at CAFOD HQ, Romero House, London and two online.
- Some preparatory reading time is required before meetings
- No specific minimum term but a commitment to give approximately 2-3 years would be preferable.

Each squadron is supported by a committee of trustees who oversee governance, fundraising, and community engagement, helping ensure incredible opportunities for young people.
What’s involved
Being a trustee is a simple but highly impactful way to support your local squadron:
- Attend quarterly meetings (around two hours each)
- Discuss finances, fundraising, priorities, and squadron activities
- Take part in decisions, especially financial and strategic matters
- Support events, networking, or community initiatives
Typical commitment: 8-12 hours per year.
Who we’re looking for
Trustees come from all walks of life. No military, youth work, or charity experience is required. Trustees actively participate in meetings and decisions – there’s no obligation to take on an elected role.
Eligibility:
- Must be 20 years or older.
- Must have lived in the UK for 3 or more years.
Useful skills (optional but welcomed):
- Finance, budgeting, or business management
- Fundraising or grant writing
- Event planning or project management
- Governance, committee, or leadership experience
- Local networks or community connections
We particularly welcome:
- Applicants from under-represented communities.
- Younger adults. Only 1% of trustees in the UK are under 30 (Charity Commission and Pro Bono Economics 2025), and we particularly encourage applications from people wanting to grow their skills while making a real impact.

- Nationally, RAF Air Cadets trustees are part of a broader governance community with access to resources and information.

At Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C., every story, every update, and every donor communication is a chance to build trust, mobilise communities, and fuel systemic change. The Content and Donor Communication Specialist ensures that our messaging is consistent, compelling, and aligned with our values, translating the C.I.C’s mission, impact, and vision into content that engages donors, volunteers, and wider audiences. This role is not about casual posting or generic marketing. It is about strategically shaping how the CIC’s story is heard and acted upon.
Purpose of the Role
This role exists to:
- Craft and manage communications for donors, stakeholders, and the wider community
- Translate survivor-led stories and CIC activities into impactful messaging
- Develop content for emails, newsletters, social media, and fundraising campaigns
- Support the Fundraising Director in building donor relationships through clear, engaging, and ethical communication
- Ensure all content aligns with CIC values, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding policies

Experience Qualification and Requirements
Essential / Highly Valued Experience
- Professional or voluntary experience in copywriting, communications, or journalism.
- Experience creating email newsletters, donor updates, or fundraising communications.
- Strong understanding of donor engagement strategies and how content impacts retention.
- Experience creating content for social media with organisational or campaign objectives in mind.
- Editing, proofreading, and content planning skills.
- Ability to maintain a consistent organisational voice across platforms.
- Familiarity with GDPR, data protection, and safeguarding requirements for communications.
- Skills in tracking and interpreting engagement metrics and refining communications accordingly.
- Collaborative skills to work effectively with multiple teams, volunteers, and directors.
- Ability to adapt content for different audiences and ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
- Strong organisational and project management skills for content planning and scheduling.
- Experience in creating templates, guides, or standardised communication processes.
Desirable / Can Be Developed
- Experience using email marketing or newsletter platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, CiviCRM).
- Knowledge of digital content analytics tools to monitor performance.
- Experience mentoring or supporting volunteers in communications roles.
- Ability to integrate donor communications with wider fundraising campaigns and events.
- Familiarity with multi-channel campaign planning and content strategy.

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties
- Develop clear, engaging, and accurate copy for all donor and community communications, including:
- Emails and newsletters
- Fundraising campaign materials
- Donor updates and acknowledgements
- Event promotions and volunteer communications
- Maintain a consistent organisational voice and messaging across all communication channels.
- Collaborate with the Fundraising Director to ensure content aligns with campaign goals, donor engagement strategies, and organisational priorities.
- Work with the Social Media Team to ensure content supports multi-channel campaigns and wider communications objectives.
- Track donor engagement, feedback, and responses to communications to identify patterns and refine messaging for maximum impact.
- Support segmentation, personalisation, and targeting of communications to ensure relevance and donor retention.
- Ensure compliance with data protection (GDPR), safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all communications.
- Collaborate with volunteers and other teams to adapt content for different audiences, ensuring inclusivity, accessibility, and cultural sensitivity.
- Proofread, edit, and quality-check all content before publication to ensure accuracy and professional presentation.
- Contribute to content planning, calendars, and scheduling to maintain regular, timely, and coordinated communications.
- Assist in developing templates, guides, or SOPs for donor and community communications.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other volunteers involved in content creation or communications.
- Monitor performance metrics for communications and produce reports to inform strategy and campaign planning.
- Ensure all communications reflect and uphold the C.I.C’s values, culture, and brand identity.
