We’re seeking friendly, reliable individuals aged 18 or over who want to make a difference in their community. No prior experience is needed, as we provide full training. If you’re open to learning, enjoy working with others, and have a passion for helping people, you’ll fit right in!

You have the time to become a volunteer in your community; you might be looking for work experience, the opportunity to meet new people, or keep active.

By volunteering with us in one of our amazing retail spaces you will be raising essential funds for Oxfam – all whilst learning new skills and meeting some incredible people.

What you will be doing

• Undertaking shop related tasks agreed with the Manager, for example:
• Selecting, sorting, and pricing donated stock.
• Chatting to customers who drop off donations and other members of the team.
• Preparing stock to be put out on the shop floor, ready for sale.
• Researching valuable and vintage stock.
• Photographing and listing items for the online shop.
• This role may include occasionally lifting boxes. We prioritise a safe working environment and provide comprehensive health and safety training to all volunteers.

• Serve customers on the till in a warm and friendly way.
• Put sales through the till, packing them and thanking the customer for shopping with us.
• Talk to customers about Gift Aid and other fundraising initiatives.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

First Aid Services Operations deploy hundreds of volunteers and employees every week on community and
commercial events, to make sure first aid is available in our local communities, as and when it is needed.
Operational Support is a flexible role which will work with, and proactively provide support to, various teams
to ensure volunteers always have a positive experience. This could range from carrying out practical tasks
which positively impact our people’s welfare on events, to be a friendly face welcoming new volunteers to
selection events, or existing volunteers to their Clinical Competency Assessments, or even helping Units to
increase their presence in the community.

Line managed by: Unit Manager or Fellowship Branch Coordinator
Work with and support: Event Manager or District New Volunteer Lead or District Training Lead or
Unit Manager or Fellowship

WHAT YOU WOULD BE INVOLVED IN (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)

• On first aid events, work with Event Managers, Treatment Centre Managers, Event Communications teams and Logistics teams, to support the welfare of adult volunteers and employees by taking proactive action. This can include making sure people are taking sufficient breaks, drinking plenty of water, eating appropriately and supporting one another. Other tasks could include helping make and serve refreshments, regularly checking to see if everyone is ok and signposting to support available through MyWellbeing, where necessary.
• Support Training and Recruitment teams on selection events, welcome events, training events and Clinical Competency Assessments, to ensure they run smoothly and are a positive experience. Thiscan include welcoming and signing in attendees, collating and processing relevant paperwork, inputting outcomes on computer programmes, providing refreshments and invigilating written assessments.
• Assist Unit Managers to increase their Unit’s presence in the local community by promoting recruitment opportunities, supporting the fundraising lead and building relationships with local organisations to raise awareness of first aid.
• Perform any other administrative and support duties commensurate with these responsibilities to keep the organisation running smoothly.

Our amazing team of volunteers help us run over 100 shops across England and Wales.  Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. As branch chair you and your branch members will create a range of activities to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community. To ensure that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

What you will be doing

• Overseeing an appropriate programme of awareness raising activities so that potential beneficiaries, volunteers and supporters are aware of SSAFA as first in mind for support.
• Building relationships with the regional and national SSAFA team, local voluntary organisations and, if applicable, SSAFA serving community teams, local military establishments, etc.
• Attending events as a key SSAFA representative.
• Providing timely reports and information to SSAFA’s central office
• Overseeing a programme of meetings including an AGM, branch meetings, committee meetings, training etc.
• Working with other volunteers, regional and national team members to attract and recruit new volunteers as required.
• Work closely with the community engagement co-ordinator to recruit, welcome, induct, support, and manage volunteers in line with SSAFA policies, such as the Volunteering Policy, Volunteer Code of Conduct, Data Protection Policy, and Safeguarding Policy.

SLOW, an award-winning charity supporting bereaved families, is excited to welcome an experienced Chair to lead our Board of Trustees, when our current Chair retires in June 2026. The appointee will be tasked with moving the organisation to the next level in delivering the sustainable growth of its bereavement services. 

The Chair of SLOW is entrusted with the vital task of leading the Board of Trustees and its Director to ensure it fulfils its legal and governance responsibilities while remaining true to the mission and values of the charity.

Volunteering for Sense

Our amazing team of volunteers help us run over 100 shops across England and Wales.  Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.

What your role will involve

There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
• Receiving donated goods from members of the public
• Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
• Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
• Processing sales and serving on the till
• Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
• Following new health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone

We regenerate lead-acid batteries two to three times, restoring most capacity and avoiding energy-intensive recycling.

### **Role Summary**

As a Finance Volunteer, you will support the development of business and financial models that drive Revive Battery’s growth and impact. You will work closely with the founder and advisors to structure financial data, forecast performance, and analyze market potential. This role offers hands-on exposure to financial planning in a sustainability startup, where finance meets technology and impact.

### **Key Responsibilities**

• Assist in creating detailed financial models for new and ongoing projects.

• Support the development of business models, revenue projections, and cost analyses.

• Conduct financial forecasting, scenario modeling, and break-even analysis.

• Prepare budgeting and expense tracking frameworks for internal use.

• Research market data to support valuation, pricing strategies, and investor materials.

• Contribute to preparing pitch decks, funding proposals, and financial reports.

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or financial modeling tools.

• Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills.

• Understanding of financial statements, forecasting, and valuation concepts.

• Ability to translate data into actionable insights and visual reports.

• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

• Interest in sustainability, clean energy, and circular economy finance is a strong advantage.

Digital Trustee – Prospect Hospice Board

Help shape the future of hospice care through digital leadership

We are seeking a new Trustee with expertise in IT, digital and technology to join the Board of Prospect Hospice.

Our hospice provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illness and their families. As healthcare and society become increasingly digital, technology now plays a critical role in how people find support, access care, and stay connected with services when they need them most.

Hospices increasingly rely on digital systems for clinical records, referrals, fundraising, volunteer coordination, and partnerships with NHS services. Strong board-level digital insight helps ensure these systems are safe, inclusive, secure and aligned with the hospice’s mission.

The Role

As a Trustee you will help provide strategic leadership, governance and oversight of the hospice.

You will support the Board to:

• Provide oversight of digital strategy, systems and data
• Ensure technology supports safe, compassionate and accessible care
• Strengthen cyber security, resilience and business continuity
• Support effective use of data, digital services and emerging technologies such as AI
• Help ensure that the hospice is prepared for future technologies and is aligned with NHS Digital strategies

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals with experience in areas such as:

• Digital leadership or digital transformation
• IT strategy, infrastructure or enterprise systems
• Cyber security, data governance or information governance
• Digital product, data analysis and mining, AI or health technology
• Technology leadership within the NHS, healthcare, public services or the private sector

Previous Trustee experience is not required, however experience at a senior management or Board level is an advantage.

About this role 

The streets of London will come alive once again on Sunday 26th April for the London Marathon. We can’t wait to get out there and support our amazing runners! And we hope YOU will join us.

Your role will be to help keep our runners going and make them feel super proud of what an amazing thing they’re doing. Clap, yell, cheer - anything that lends our runners the energy they need to go the distance. We’ll have music, banners and flags! By registering to help, you’ll also get a free Scope t-shirt to help you look the part.
