What we need from you

Fundraising Events Organiser Volunteer

Would you like to be part of a dedicated and friendly team of volunteers and make a real difference to the lives of cats and kittens in our care?  Do you enjoy planning and organising for events?  Maybe you have a particular skill that you would like to put to use?
 
Then this could be the role for you! 
 
Our Fundraising Events Team are at the heart of what we do, raising essential funds for the cats. 

Our Fundraising Events Organisers share ideas, tasks and inspiration, planning and delivering local events, with the support of the Fundraising events helpers, such as Open Days (usually 2 per year) at the centre and our annual Christmas Bazaar. 

Time Expectation:  This role can be varied and time commitment can be flexible. 

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Berkshire.

Please note:  Although we do welcome everyone, unfortunately our centre is not set up to accommodate young volunteers under the age of 18, including those on the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

Community and Fundraising Volunteers play a vital role in raising funds and awareness to support mums experiencing perinatal mental health challenges. This is a friendly, hands-on role where you’ll help plan, prepare, and deliver fundraising and community engagement activities. From supporting events and running stalls to chatting with supporters and sharing information about MumsAid’s services, you’ll be an important part of a welcoming and supportive team. 

No previous experience is required — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine desire to support mums and their families. 

What will you be doing? 

• Supporting the planning and delivery of fundraising and community events, such as charity stalls, coffee mornings, sponsored activities, and awareness days. 

• Helping to create a lively, positive, and welcoming atmosphere at MumsAid events. 

• Engaging with members of the public, supporters, and participants, celebrating their involvement and encouraging donations. 

• Talking to people about MumsAid’s work and signposting to support where appropriate. 

• Assisting with event set-up and pack-down to ensure everything runs smoothly. 

• Handling cash and card donations responsibly, in line with MumsAid procedures.

Fundraising Manager (Team Leader)

Time commitment: 4 hours per week (flexible)

Manages: Fundraising volunteer team (approx. 5 people)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, friendly, and highly organised Volunteer Fundraising Manager to lead our fundraising function and help us deliver a clear, consistent, and timely pipeline of income opportunities.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will work closely with the Director to shape and manage our fundraising strategy, prioritise opportunities, and coordinate a small team of fundraising volunteers.

Please note: This role is not responsible for writing full applications. Instead, you will focus on strategy, coordination, quality assurance, and momentum. You will support the team by reviewing drafts, giving clear feedback, and ensuring applications are aligned with our charity’s mission and submitted on time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and maintain an effective fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Director
• Guide and support a team of around five fundraising volunteers, setting priorities and keeping everyone on track
• Manage the fundraising pipeline (opportunities, deadlines, progress tracking, and follow-ups)
• Provide timely responses to team questions and unblock issues quickly
• Review and improve fundraising drafts (structure, clarity, alignment, tone, completeness, and fit with funder criteria)
• Ensure applications and supporting documents are consistent, accurate, and submitted within deadlines
• Coordinate light-touch check-ins, task allocation, and updates (weekly or fortnightly, as agreed)
• Help improve systems and templates so the team can work efficiently (for example trackers, folder structure, and standard wording)

Who we’re looking for

Essential

• Proven experience in fundraising (charity, community interest, education, health, environment, or similar)
• Strong understanding of what makes a successful grant or fundraising case, and how to align it to funder criteria
• Confident leading and supporting a small team, with a collaborative and encouraging style
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to give clear, constructive feedback
• Highly organised, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
• Able to commit around 4 hours per week on an ongoing basis

Desirable

• Experience managing a fundraising pipeline or CRM, or maintaining trackers and workflows
• Experience developing fundraising strategy and prioritisation
• Familiarity with UK trusts and foundations, corporate giving, or community fundraising

Key responsibilities

· To work with the organisation on a remote flexi-time monthly basis to complete tasks (with assistance from our Head of Fundraising & Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinics with task delegation and organising) which could include the following:

(i) Training: Attend Online training events on Neurodiversity during April, May and September

(ii) Training Delivery: Deliver a 30-minute online training session which would be delivered to the team of Neurodiversity Awareness Event Interns in August. (NOTE: Slides provided but can be adapted as one feels appropriate)

(iii) Event- Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinic Planning Meeting: Online meet with Neurodiversity Awareness Event Interns and Head of Neurodiversity Awareness Fundraising & Events to plan for London University Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinics during September and October

(iv) Crowdfunding Planning Meeting: Online meet with Charity Administrators (helping with crowdfunding) and Head of Neurodiversity Awareness Fundraising and Events to plan for remote approaches to crowdfund for the charity during April

(v) Leafletting Planning Meeting: Lead an Online meet with Neurodiversity Awareness Event Interns to plan strategy for their leafletting task during October

(vi) Event- Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinic: Co-deliver and lead a 1-hour-30-minute In-Person Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinic in a London University informing attenders of neurodiversity in higher education and signposting to appropriate sources and sectors. This event is also a fundraising event to generate extra funds to the charity. Street clinics will be run in October and November

(vii) Event Debrief Admin: Type up the debrief review of the delivered Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinic to send to Head of Neurodiversity Awareness Events & Fundraising in March, October and November

(viii) Marketing Team Liaison: Have an online meeting with one of the Marketing Interns to give key highlights and photos from the Street Clinic in October

(ix) Crowdfunding Month: Reach remotely out to friends, family, and/or work colleagues to encourage donations to the charity in May

(x) Neurodiversity Awareness Events & Fundraising Strategy Review Meeting: Work with our Head of Neurodiversity Awareness Events & Fundraising to review our yearly fundraising events & Crowdfunding Strategy Plan in May.

(xi) Grant/Bid Writing Planning and Application: Meet Online with the Head of Neurodiversity Awareness Events & Fundraising to plan proposed foundations/trusts to apply for a grant and With “On-Call” support from the Head of Neurodiversity Awareness Events and Fundraising, submit at least 1 Grant/Bid application for the charity in June

Join the fun as a Fundraising Group Member with Canine Partners! Team up with fellow volunteers in our North Northumberland and Scottish Borders Fundraising Group to help plan and deliver exciting local events that help raise vital funds for amazing assistance dogs. You’ll meet monthly, share ideas, plan activities, and be the friendly face of Canine Partners in your community.

About the opportunity

This role involves being an active member of the North Northumberland and Scottish Borders Fundraising Group, working alongside fellow volunteers to arrange fundraising events in the local community. You would attend regular group meetings in Milfield to discuss upcoming activities and ensure plans are in place for events throughout the year.

What’s involved

• Work with your fellow group volunteers to organise fundraising events and activities to raise money for Canine Partners
• Taking on tasks to assist with the organisation of fundraising events
• Liaising with the Fundraising Group Leader to organise events and keep Canine Partners updated

Role Requirements

• Age 18 or over
• Happy to contribute to event planning and on the day tasks
•  Access to transport with flexibility to visit different locations
• Polite, confident and personable manner
• Excellent customer service skills
• Some elements of this role could require standing for the duration of the session and/or being in a busy environment. Please advise us if you have any concerns about this, and we will do our best to support you

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers

· planning fundraising events and activities with your team

· allocating tasks before and during fundraising events

· keeping financial records from fundraising events

· encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 

· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
