2 Head of educational mentoring volunteer roles

The Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun. Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to 9–18-year-olds in the local community.

You'll assit or deliver deliver lessons, support events or run competitions with young people, desirably on a Monday or Thursday evening.

Your experience and skills can help young people flourish – catering, archery, meteorology, navigation, orienteering, first aid, engineering, photography, marketing, football coaching, IT, social media, driving - there is no limit. Whatever your interest, you could bring it to Ross-On-Wye & Monmouth Unit.

You could also share your skills out on the water with the next generation, through the opportunity to teach watersports such as kayaking, sailing, powerboating, canoeing, rowing and windsurfing. If you don’t have any watersport qualifications, we’ll provide you with all the equipment, training and the opportunity to gain national qualifications with the Royal Yachting Association, British Rowing and UK Paddle.

What difference will you make? Providing a friendly and educational environment, you will help our young people reach their potential and push themselves to learn more. Our volunteers help our cadets through the Cadet Training Programme (CTP) which puts them on a pathway to promotion and opens new life changing opportunities.
