Income generation is key to our continued success and the support of volunteers enables us to raise more funds to support former servicemen and women, so that when a veteran is having a tough time, we’re there to help tackle the past and to help them take on the future.

Could you be a star baker, master chef or perhaps you simply enjoy baking or cooking! We are recruiting for a volunteer to join our team supporting individuals to learn new recipes together as a group.

Baking and cooking helps to relax, get creative and indulge in our senses. Often, it can spark nostalgia and helps us to recreate positive experiences or memories. Inspire and motivate people in our services to do something that brings joy, an opportunity to learn new skills whilst connecting with others over sharing baked goods and delicious meals.

What you will be doing

• Research and plan new recipes for cooking/baking sessions in collaboration with the group each week
• Encourage individuals to participate in the sessions and delegate cooking tasks
• Support individuals to shop for ingredients needed for the session
• Support individuals each week in setting up for the sessions and tidying away afterwards
• Encourage individuals to participate in all aspects of the planning and attendance
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback and report any concerns to the staff team

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

This role will involve travelling to different locations within London, so we are looking for a volunteer who is happy to do so!

We are looking for volunteers who would like to play a role in building people’s confidence. Would you be interested in supporting people to improve their conversational English skills?

Improving someone’s understanding and spoken English language, will allow individuals to communicate and connect with people in their local community, widen their network of friendships and relationships and provide people opportunity to improve their employability skills.

What you will be doing

• To support people who are not confident with spoken English to develop these skills through conversational English sessions through 1:1 or in small groups.
• Agree a mutual agreeable time and frequency that works for both parties
• Engage in conversation, allowing the person to feel supported and comfortable to practice speaking English
• Preparing and delivering sessions independently including setting work and assessing
• To keep records of conversations and update the support worker on progress of sessions.

• Ideally have experience of teaching people English remotely.

Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing, providing supported living accommodation for young women aged 18-30 in recovery from drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors.

An enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate volunteer with good interpersonal skills and a desire to help others. The volunteer must be a fully qualified Dietitian or Nutritional Therapist and have training and/or experience working with individuals with eating disorders.

Activities

• Supporting the nutritional needs of young women with health issues on a limited budget.
• Providing support with meal planning, cooking skills, food safety, and day-to-day problem solving around food and eating.
• Providing wisdom and accurate nutrition education around healthy eating for the individual.

Qualifications/ Experience

• Must be a fully qualified Dietitian or Nutritional Therapist.
• As many of the residents have eating disorders it is essential for the volunteer to have training and/or clinical experience working with individuals with eating disorders.
• Must have professional liability insurance and be a member of a professional body ie. HCPC, BANT
• This role requires us to carry out a check through the Disclosure and Barring Service for the Enhanced DBS

Commitment 

This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on the volunteer’s availability and the needs of the residents. We recommend weekly one-to-one sessions for a minimum of 3 months.

We’re looking for patient, supportive people who’d like to spend a few hours each week helping others to learn and develop new skills.

As a Learning Support Volunteer, you’ll be part of a welcoming team that helps adults and young people take part in our learning, employability and personal development sessions. You’ll provide encouragement, guidance and reassurance to help participants build confidence and progress at their own pace.

Volunteer Role

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team at the IHF Indonesia Center in

Bali. Volunteers will gain invaluable experience in international team leadership,

coordination of center activities, and engagement with the local community.

As an Adult Carers Activities Volunteer, you support adults aged 25 and over who juggle demanding caring roles. You help them enjoy time for themselves through group sessions, meet ups, wellbeing activities, workshops, and social events across Solihull. Your support creates calm, safe spaces where carers can connect with others and focus on their own wellbeing.

What you do
• Help staff set up and run planned group activities.
• Welcome carers and support them through each session.
• Take on simple tasks that keep sessions running smoothly.
• Follow safety guidance and respond to rota requests.
• Join short online check ins every two months.
• Take part in training linked to the role.
• Report concerns or incidents to the Lead Worker.

Bring a Personal Touch to Supporting Our Legacy Community

Help us bulid personal connections with our leagagcy supporters, making them feel supported and valued.

The legacy marketing team steward supporters who have, or may, pledge a donation to the Fund in their will. Gifts in Wills are an essential source of income for the Fund and are due to bring in around £10 million in 2025 with a similar amount forecast for 2026 and are the largest income stream. These donations are vital to the Fund’s ability to provide support to the RAF Family at the scale we are able to – supporting 64,876 members of the RAF Family in 2024, offering timely, compassionate and tailored help. With In-Memory, these are supporters who have either donated in-memory of a loved one who has passed or are funds collected from a funeral collection.

Volunteers in this role will help the Fund to add a more personal touch to how we communicate with and steward our legacy supporters. This role will enhance the Fund’s relationships with these individuals and provide a more tailored approach to thanking them for the generous gifts that allow us to provide our services. 

Volunteers are asked to support the legacy and in-memory marketing team in a variety of ways that enhance the experience of our legacy and in-memory. Volunteers can choose to help in any or all of the below ways – for all of which you will be provided with a script by the team:

• Hand writing letters of thanks to supporters offering thanks for their support depending on their relationship with the Fund (e.g. considering leaving a gift, already pledged to leve a gift, received an in-memory donation etc).

• Phoning attendees of legacy events ahead of the event to check their attendance, any requirements and answer any questions.

• Assembling gift packs to be given out at legacy events.

• Assit with our online Much Loved pages by adding a thank you message and providing personal touches to dedication page such as lighting candles when they set the page up and again around significant anniversaries (training will be provided for this element inhouse).

Skills and attributes needed for this role include:

• Confident telephone manner 

• Able to handle sensitive or emotional conversations centred around death (if choosing to help with the telephone part of the role).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate volunteer with good interpersonal skills and a desire to teach guitar, who will support young women to develop their piano skills and positively encourage their creative expression.

Commitment

This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on your availability and the needs of service users.  It might be every week or fortnight, 3 to 4 hours, ideally for a minimum of 3 months.

DBS

This role requires us to carry out a check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Activities

• Providing Piano lessons to residents, as well as supporting their individual musical goals.
• Developing and delivering individual session plans and documented session outcomes in order to assist each resident’s personal growth.

Support

• Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training.
• Volunteers have a named supervisor providing day-to-day support and encouragement.

Medaille Trust is one of the leading providers of support to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK. We are working to provide refuge and freedom for survivors and fighting to see slavery in all its forms become a thing of the past. The need for this work has never been higher, there are more than 50 million estimated victims of modern slavery worldwide, and over 120,000 potential victims in the UK.

We operate ten safe houses and five outreach hubs, staffed round the clock by specialist staff, working with more than 600 men, women and dependent children each year.  We work to raise awareness in the UK and to provide preventive work in source countries. Our Pursue work helps survivors to engage with police and within the legal system to seek justice and to secure convictions against their perpetrators.

This role is based in the Hampshire area.

We are looking for Volunteers to help support us with coordinating and delivering activities, tasks will include:

•Organising and delivering activities for service user participation, which may include craft, arts, exercise/sport, education, wellbeing activities.

•Consulting service users to gain their feedback about what activities they would like to participate in.

•Helping to create a varied programme of activities.

•Offering a safe and comfortable experience for all service user, showing awareness of service users’ varying physical and mental well-being needs.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Storrington Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).
