Vauxhall City Farm is one of the oldest and most centrally located city farms in London, but we offer far more than a traditional farm experience. We are a sanctuary in the heart of the city - providing life-changing opportunities for individuals and communities across some of London’s most disadvantaged boroughs, while also offering a safe, welcoming and inclusive green space for all.

Each year, we welcome around 60,000 visitors, including 7,000 children and young people from local schools and colleges who participate in workshops and educational activities, alongside over 50,000 members of the wider community who engage with our mobile farm, volunteering, training, development programmes and outreach initiatives.

We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our Board of Trustees, helping to shape the future direction, governance and long-term sustainability of the charity.

As a Trustee, you will work collaboratively with fellow Board members and the leadership team, providing strategic guidance, constructive challenge and support across key areas of the organisation’s work.

We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring skills and experience in the following areas: fundraising, marketing and communications, safeguarding, volunteering, community engagement, and health and safety.

Joining our Board offers diverse and challenging opportunities for those passionate about shaping the charity’s future. As a Trustee, you’ll have the chance to contribute your ideas and influence at Board meetings and stakeholder events.

You do not need to have previous Trustee experience to apply.

We are looking for our next Chair of Trustees – someone who will work closely with our Executive Team and Board to guide the organisation through what is both a challenging and genuinely exciting time. The funding environment is tough. The political context is difficult. And yet the need for what we do has never been greater.

This is an unpaid voluntary role. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with our Volunteer Expenses Policy.

The successful candidate will lead a vibrant, well-established, national charity as it navigates the next chapter of its story.

Main tasks

• Developing and setting our future strategy, alongside the Executive Team and other Trustees
• Helping shape and deliver our future, identifying opportunities in an evolving landscape
• Leading the Board of Trustees, including regular 1:1s and providing space for reflection
• Acting as a 'critical friend' to our Executive Team, as well as formal line management to the CEO (and COO in their absence)
• Acting as an ambassador for the charity – raising awareness of what we do and engaging potential supporters and other key stakeholders
• Responsibility, along with the other trustees, for the governance of the charity
• Contributing to the ongoing strategy of the charity, in line with our charitable objectives
• Participating in board meetings and sub-committees in an inclusive and thoughtful way

Role: Finance & Investment Committee Member

Location: London/remote

The Royal College of Pharmacy’s Finance & Investment Committee (FIC) is a key advisory body established by the College’s Board of Trustees to provide independent oversight of financial performance, investment strategy, and long-term financial sustainability.

While the day-to-day financial management of the College is delegated to the Chief Executive and Director of Finance, the FIC plays a critical role in supporting the Board of Trustees in fulfilling its governance responsibilities. The Committee ensures that the College’s financial resources are managed prudently, investments are strategically aligned, and financial risks are appropriately mitigated.

This is a voluntary role with an estimated time commitment of one day per quarter. This includes attendance in person or by Teams at four meetings annually, plus reading and preparation time. Trustees serve for a term of up to three years with an option for appointment for a further two terms.

Principal duties as a committee member:

• Review the proposed Budget and its alignment with approved business plans in advance of each financial year and report its opinion to the Board of Trustees prior to the budget being agreed.

• Assess and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees on any significant variances against approved budgets.

• Assess the effectiveness and adequacy of accounting, financial and operating controls and satisfy itself that the annual financial statements represent fairly the financial position of the College.

• Review significant accounting policies and procedures and recommend changes to the Board of Trustees.

• To oversee short and long-term investments in line with Investment Strategy & make recommendations to Board of Trustees for change where appropriate.

We are seeking applicants with the following skill, knowledge and experience:

• Senior management or director-level experience, ideally in finance and/or investment management

• Experience of strategic oversight of financial performance and budgets

• Understanding the distinct role of trustees and operational/executive functions

• An understanding of charity or not-for-profit governance

• Strong Financial oversight & Performance monitoring

Talkthru is a specialist counselling charity based in Huddersfield, offering free, confidential support to individuals and families affected by pregnancy loss, baby loss and other birth-related trauma.

Our Board of Trustees oversees Talkthru’s strategic direction, governance, and financial health, ensuring that we remain sustainable, ethical, and effective. This is where you come in.

Role Purpose

As a Trustee, you will share collective responsibility for the governance and strategic leadership of Talkthru. Trustees ensure that the charity fulfils its mission, operates lawfully and ethically, and maintains the trust of clients, donors, and the wider community.

We are particularly keen to welcome a Trustee with a legal background to strengthen the Board’s expertise in governance, compliance, and risk management. Bright Futures UK is looking for passionate and knowledgeable Key Stage 3 English tutors to provide educational support and a fun, safe learning environment for young people living with serious illnesses.

Offer subject area knowledge and expertise related to KS3 English

Help to combat social isolation through fun and engaging tutoring sessions.

Dance Professionals Fund is an award-winning registered CIO providing financial and wellbeing support to dancers, dance teachers and choreographers. Our dedicated services bring together a range of effective ways of supporting dance professionals, including financial grants, signposting to support services, injury rehabilitation, career upskilling support and access to professional counselling. Dance professionals will receive holistic support from us whatever their situation. 

Role Description 

We are seeking trustees to join us from January 2027 for an initial term of three years.We are looking for a range of skills and experience, including: 

• Experience and/or specialism in commercial dance or street dance

• A recreational dance teacher and/or owner of a dance school 

• Background/experience in finance in a senior role or on a charity Board 

• Experience within a benevolent fund as either as staff or trustee

• Background in legal expertise, in a senior role or on a charity Board 

• Strong communication skills, comprehensive networking experience

Coventry Citizens Advice is recruiting new trustees to join its Board of Directors.

We are one of the largest local Citizens Advice charities in England, helping more than 14,000 people each year with issues including debt, housing, welfare benefits and fuel poverty. For over 80 years we have been a trusted source of free, independent advice for the people of Coventry — and demand for our services has never been higher.

This is a genuine governance role. You will help set our strategic direction, oversee our finances, ensure we meet our legal duties as a charity, and hold the organisation accountable to the communities it serves. We want trustees who engage with the detail and bring their professional judgement to decisions that matter.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

No previous trustee or board experience is required — just sound independent judgement, strong communication skills, and a commitment to public service.

The successful candidate will chair six Board meetings per year (primarily London-based), participate in events, visits, and stakeholder engagement, and commit approximately 1–2 days per month. This is an unpaid role, but reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. The initial appointment is for three years, with the possibility of reappointment for an additional term of three years.
