St John is one of the largest youth organisations in the country and many of our young volunteers go onto careers in health and/or social care. Being a youth volunteer helps young people develop skills and confidence that go on to help them with further education and university applications. To do this we need dedicated and enthusiastic youth helpers. We are seeking a proactive, confident, and highly organised Volunteer Housing & Asset Management Administrator to support our busy Housing and Asset Management teams.

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience within a housing association or supported housing environment while making a meaningful contribution to services supporting vulnerable residents.

Role Description

We are looking for motivated medical students to help validate clinical cases on our platform before publication. In this role, you will review case content for medical accuracy, clarity, realism, and educational value. You will check whether the history, physical examination findings, investigations, diagnosis, and management steps are logical, guideline-aligned, and appropriate for the learner level. Validators will also help identify unclear wording, duplicated questions, incorrect classifications, missing key steps, and any details that could confuse students. Your feedback will directly improve the quality of our medical simulations and help ensure that each case provides a safe, realistic, and high-value learning experience. This role is ideal for medical students who enjoy clinical reasoning, medical education, and reviewing cases in detail. It is also a great opportunity to contribute to an innovative educational platform, strengthen your academic profile, and potentially have validated cases published under your name after final review.

Helping in our shops is a great way to help CHAS and, as well as helping us raise money to fund our vital services, you'll be part of a really great team of volunteers. You'll be meeting new people, using your skills or learning something new, and making sure our customers get a great welcome and all the assistance they need.

It's always great to see our volunteers chatting to customers and telling them about CHAS - and there's so much more to this role too: you could be sorting donations, getting stock ready for the shop floor, wielding a steamer or a duster, processing Gift Aid, operating the till (we will show you how), merchandising and displaying stock - you'll never have a dull moment.

It would be ideal if you could volunteer one shift each week, which is about four hours (but we're also happy to chat about more flexible times). Administrative Support Volunteer - Lancashire

Information about the role

You’ll be completing a range of administrative tasks to help the local team assist people who are experiencing the housing emergency or need support with benefits and debt issues. 

Location: Shelter Lancashire Hub, Blackburn Central Library, Town Hall Street, Blackburn. Volunteering activity could be in the Hub or in our community settings.

Availability: Volunteering will take place within our Hub service hours of Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm

As an E-commerce volunteer, you’ll help bring our shop online by selecting, preparing and listing items for sale on our digital platform.You’ll play a key role in turning donated goods into vital funds while keeping our online shop running smoothly. 

Location: 37 Stockwell Street, Glasgow, G1 4RZ

Suggested contribution: It’s up to you! We have volunteers who support for one hour a week and others who volunteer more. Many people volunteer for a morning or an afternoon each week, but we’ll have a chat about your availability after you’ve applied.
