London is facing a loneliness crisis, and we have the antidote: SUNSHINE. We are a grassroots startup charity on a mission to reduce isolation through joyful community projects and connection. We have the vision; now we need the Income Architect to generate the seed funding and strategic partnerships required to get us off the ground and into every London borough.

The Growth Catalyst
This is a strategic leadership role for a proactive closer. You won’t just be filling out forms; you will be the CEO’s partner in building the financial foundation of our movement. You will own the search for seed funding, from navigating the London grant landscape to pitching corporate partners who share our values.

Your Impact:

• Seed Funding Specialist: Identify and secure the vital first grants and "Founding Partner" investments to launch our pilot programmes.
• Partnership Architect: Build high-value, strategic alliances with London-based businesses and community stakeholders that go beyond simple "logo swaps".
• Grant Storyteller: Craft compelling, evidence-based cases for support that win over trusts and foundations.
• Strategic Pipeline: Design and manage a robust donor and partner pipeline, ensuring we have the resources to scale from our first pilot to city-wide impact.

Who You Are:

• Experience Required: You have a proven track record in fundraising, business development, or corporate partnerships.
• A Natural Connector: You have the warmth and confidence to pitch "SUNSHINE" to anyone, from local business owners to major grant-making trustees.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit: You love the challenge of "the first raise" and are comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment.
• London Focused: You have a deep understanding of (or a desire to learn) the unique funding ecosystem of the capital.

The Logistics:

• Location: Remote (flexible), with occasional strategy meetings or partnership pitches in London.
• Commitment: Approx. 6–8 hours per week (flexible around your existing professional commitments).
• Reporting: Reporting directly to the CEO/Founder as a key member of the leadership team.

A bit about this role... 

Please note - Due to the nature of fundraising roles, our volunteers must be over the age of 18. 

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you! 

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

Support, guidance and keeping you safe 

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

As we approach our 30th anniversary in 2028, we are looking for committed new trustees with energy, passion and time who will continue to drive us forward.

Musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn't: family finances and other obstacles too often get in the way. Young Sounds is here to change this.

For nearly 30 years we've supported talented young people from low-income families, helping them to overcome financial and social barriers. Whether they're making or creating music our programmes help young musicians from across the UK to fulfil their musical potential.

Trustees are expected to engage with and support all aspects of the charity, helping to foster stakeholder relationships, representing the organisation regionally and nationally and ensuring compliance and safeguarding. 

Principal responsibilities are:

• Strategy - contributing actively to the formation of strategy, the Young Sounds business plan, and evaluating the performance of the organisation against the plan.
• Oversight - ensuring that the charity is well run, efficient and compliant with the charity's Articles of Association, its policies, including safeguarding and EDI, governance codes of practice, legal responsibilities and upholding the organisation's reputation and values.
• Advocacy - advocating for the charity at all times, supporting fundraising efforts and promoting the work of the charity in the trustee's daily life.

Requirements:

Previous trustee experience is not necessary, and we welcome trustees who can bring a diversity of life experiences, cultural knowledge and expertise.

As a national charity we are keen to attract trustees from all parts of the UK, and particularly those who are based outside London and the South East.

For this round, we particularly welcome expertise in the following areas:

• EDI and CSR programmes in the creative industries
• Youth culture and content creation
• Music Hub and/or National Curriculum expertise
• Fundraising
• Contemporary music performance and production

Above all we are looking for trustees who are passionate about, and willing to advocate strongly for, giving all young people the opportunity to have a musical life, particularly those facing the most barriers. We also expect trustees to have an overarching commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

LUX is looking for new Board members to support our work and bring new skills, expertise and ideas for the future of our organisation. About The Girls’ Network

At The Girls’ Network, we believe that no girl should have her future limited by her gender, ethnicity, background or parental income.

Young people from lower-income families are significantly less likely to go on to higher education than their wealthier peers, which can have a lifelong impact on opportunity and earning potential. Recent years have also seen inequalities deepen and young people’s wellbeing adversely affected, particularly following the Covid-19 pandemic. These structural and social barriers disproportionately affect girls and young women from communities of least advantage.

We exist to challenge this inequality. Our mission is to inspire and empower girls and young women from underrepresented backgrounds to realise their ambitions, discover their self-worth, and develop the confidence and capacity to shape their own futures.

About the Opportunities

The Girls’ Network is seeking a new Chair of Trustees to lead and support The Girls’ Network through their exciting next phase of growth, supporting an exceptional, values-driven team and ensuring they remain ambitious, accountable and true to their founding mission.

We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with:

• Experience of strategic leadership and governance within a complex organisation.
• Experience or understanding of the education / schools landscape.
• Good understanding of voluntary sector governance, funding and finance management.
• Thorough understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship.
• Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen, including experience in financial planning, oversight, risk management, and the establishment and monitoring of systems of control and accountability.
• A track record of driving innovation and organisational change, with the ability to apply insight to support the charity’s achievement of its strategic objectives.
• Experience of working across sectoral boundaries, leveraging partnerships and opportunities.

The Girls’ Networks is also seeking two talented and committed Trustees to join their Board. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Fundraising
• IT and digital

We are also seeking Trustees from the North East, Merseyside, West Midlands who can bring their lived experience to add value to the Board. We also encourage applications from young Trustees and will support first-time Trustees to bring their valuable perspectives to the Board.

Customer Service / Receptionist Volunteer

We’re looking for a friendly volunteer in our Guildford office on Wednesdays to be the first point of contact for our clients coming in seeking advice.

 What will you do?

• Complete an introduction to Citizens Advice South West Surrey (CASWS)
• Complete required training for your role
• Provide a customer facing reception service to clients who drop in to see us in our Guildford office, including:
  • Ensuring relevant forms are completed
  • Assigning clients to Advisers for more detailed support
  • Booking appointments
  • Monitoring the flow of clients in the drop in
  • Assist clients with form filling
  • Complete day sheets
  • Scan and upload documents to case recording system
  • Write up notes on case recording system
  • When the drop-in service is at full capacity, ensuring that you understand the clients’ issue and support them by providing information, signposting them to another more appropriate organisation or asking them to attend another CASWS drop in.
• Complete administrative duties including:
  • Monitoring emails
  • Processing client enquiries both by email and phone
  • Sending out appointment information
  • Provide Advisers with admin support, where required
  • Other ad hoc tasks to support the day to day running of our service

• be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection
• be willing to undertake training in your role

How much time do you need to give?

We're looking for someone who can volunteer on Wednesdays, ideally between 9am and 4pm, though we are happy to discuss volunteering between 9.30am and 3.30pm as well.

Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and we particularly welcome applications from racially minoritised people/people of colour, disabled people, people with physical or mental health conditions, LGBTQ+ and non-binary people.
