Role Overview
Europia is looking for a Romanian-speaking volunteer to support community sessions for the Salford Central and Eastern European Health Navigators Project.
The project supports Central and Eastern European residents in Salford who may face language, digital or other barriers when accessing health and community services.
The volunteer will help welcome people, provide Romanian language support and help residents use digital services. They will work alongside Europia staff to make sessions welcoming and accessible.
What the Role Will Involve
Interpret between Romanian-speaking residents and Europia staff during community sessions.
Help Romanian-speaking residents communicate with Europia staff.
Clearly interpret information provided by Europia staff.
Translate short written information, messages and instructions between Romanian and English.
Help check that translated information is clear and easy to understand.
Welcome residents when they arrive at community sessions.
Explain how the session works and who service users need to speak to.
Help service users use mobile phones, websites, online forms and digital services.
Help prepare the room before sessions and tidy the space afterwards.
Support the general running of community sessions.

Role Description:
This role sits within our Men’s Minds project, based in Feltham, Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

Prison-based volunteers are the backbone of Fine Cell Work (FCW). Supported by the Fine Cell Work programmes team and by other staff at the FCW office, they teach and administer FCW stitching groups in prisons.
Prison volunteers work in teams to organise classes and teach our stitchers, as well as providing information about the group to the prison and to the FCW office. The precise mix of skills will vary from prison to prison.

About the Role
Join our team as a Volunteer HR & Recruitment Assistant and play a key role in supporting our non-profit mission. Sitting within our Human Resources function, you will assist with the end-to-end volunteer recruitment process—helping us attract passionate individuals to support our core projects.
This volunteer opportunity is ideal for HR students, career changers, or experienced professionals looking to contribute their expertise to a meaningful cause while building practical recruitment experience in the social impact sector.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Outreach: Assist hiring leads with identifying volunteer staffing needs and posting role descriptions across relevant platforms.
Candidate Engagement: Conduct initial screening discussions to evaluate candidate interest, alignment with our core values, and overall fit.
Pipeline Management: Help build and maintain candidate records, keeping applicants informed and supported throughout the recruitment journey.
Onboarding & Administration: Support the HR team in scheduling interviews, maintaining up-to-date volunteer records, and ensuring recruitment processes remain inclusive and compliant with equal opportunity standards.
What We Are Looking For
An interest in or prior exposure to HR, recruitment, or talent acquisition.
Good written and verbal communication skills, with a welcoming, professional manner.
Basic familiarity with standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle confidential information respectfully.
A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Programme Details
This role is offered as an unpaid volunteer placement within the Quilombo UK Professional Development Programme. The is commitment 12 hours per week (flexible across Monday to Friday) over a 16-week period to get the most out of the experience.

Would you like to join our Board of Trustees of Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust?
This year we are looking for three people to join our Board of Trustees at our AGM in October 26.
Trustees of the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust (SRWT) are volunteers who together lead the organisation in the planning, resourcing and delivery of its activities, so that it can achieve its charitable objectives. An enthusiastic, committed and active Board of Trustees, with a good range of knowledge, skills, experience and personal qualities is vital to the healthy and effective running of the organisation.
The Board of Trustees:
lead the strategic development and planning of the Trust
develop and adopt appropriate policies
aim to ensure that the Trust is legally compliant and works to best practice wherever possible
supports, guides and advises the Trust’s staff and volunteers, especially the CEO and the Executive Team
This year, we are especially keen to hear from people who:
Have expertise, knowledge and experience in one or more of the of the following areas:
Marketing
Commercial management, business acumen, profit for purpose experience (with reference to our consultancy)
Green finance.
Enterprise development
Income generation
Legal experience
Health, Safety and safeguarding policy and compliance
Have a good knowledge of communities and/or natural environment in Rotherham
Can represent more of our diverse community in Sheffield & Rotherham
We are also recruiting for a Trustee to be our Treasurer who will have:
Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT)
Ability to analyse proposals and understand financial consequences
Understanding of financial risk
Skills & Experience
Trustees should demonstrate some or all of the following:
Passion for nature
Interest in and enthusiasm for the work of the Wildlife Trust
Experience of working as part of a decision-making group, board or committee either in a business or voluntary environment
Experience or knowledge of the legal requirements of a charity
Local knowledge of the places in which the Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust operates
Experience of financial management and budgeting in a business or voluntary environment
