What we need from you

Support the work of St John Ambulance in your community by volunteering as a Community Volunteer, an exciting new role which is designed to revamp how volunteering looks in the modern world; flexible, innovative and is open for all.

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient. Community Volunteers can choose from a wide selection of activities – including fundraising, talks and demonstrations, supporting at events, volunteer welfare, social media and administration support.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.

Give as much (or little) time as you can afford. With this new role, you simply volunteer when it works for you. Once we have completed your selection and screening for this role, we will provide you with an induction, as well as invite you to any necessary training sessions. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions. This vacancy is for volunteers in Ashford, Folkestone and Hythe Area.

To help attend community engagement and community education events and activities within the local network. Also help with fundraising activities and increase funds for the organisation. Weekly training opportunity meetings are held every Tuesday 19:30-21:00, weekend and evening activities will also be available.

London Plus is looking for two new trustees who are passionate about strengthening London’s civil society. We play a unique role -  championing the role of charities and community groups in helping London and Londoners thrive.

CAFOD Advisor Recruitment  - Strategy Performance Committee (SPC)

Role

Committee member, providing expert fundraising expertise to this Committee of the Board, alongside Trustees and other expert advisors. The SPC exercises governance activities on behalf of the Board and provides recommendations to the Board. The remit of the SPC covers CAFOD’s strategy to recruit and engage donors and supporters, and its global programmatic work, so covers both CAFOD’s international activities as well as the work within the Catholic Community in England and Wales.

Essential Criteria

• Professional fundraising expert with experience in the Charity sector
• Experience of multiple income portfolio management and strategy - particularly fundraising from the public (individual giving, legacy fundraising, community fundraising, major donor engagement etc.)
• Respect for the goals, ethos and culture of CAFOD

Advantageous

• An understanding of fundraising in a faith context
• Familiarity with Fundraising Regulator best practice & or a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising
• Knowledge of fundraising for international causes

Time commitment

• Four half-day meetings a year, currently two at CAFOD HQ, Romero House, London and two online.
• Some preparatory reading time is required before meetings
• No specific minimum term but a commitment to give approximately 2-3 years would be preferable.

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.

Do you live in Merseyside? Do you want to be the difference between a life saved and a life lost? We're now recruiting for Community First Aiders across Merseyside (including Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley and St Helens)

The succesful candidate would be expected to attend their Network's meeting on a regular basis, as well as attend all training required for the role (typically a weekend plus additional e-learning). In addition, due to the nature of the role, Community First Aiders must commit to a minimum of 80 hours per year delivering first aid at events and community engagement.

Once shortlisted, candidates will be invited to attend a selection centre at our Liverpool HQ, which is likely to take place in early February.
Successful candidates will be invited to an induction day upon completion of their screening for role. This is expected to be in late March, but is dependent on completion of screening checks.

Training for role will consist of a weekend of face to face training, which is likely to be run in late March or early April (again dependent on completion of screening checks).

· Representing and championing Women in Sport by being an advocate and ambassador

· Being the guardian of our reputation seeking to ensure Women in Sport maintains its leading position in advocacy for women and girls in sport

· In partnership with other Trustees, providing guidance, support and challenge to the CEO and executive team

Key experience, skills and attributes required:

· Experience operating at Board in a non-executive or executive capacity

· Demonstrable ability of being a trusted advisor to a wide range of stakeholders, including executive management

· Detailed understanding of the boundaries which exist between the Executive and the Non-Executive

· Proven ability to provide strategic oversight of organisational performance and long-term planning

· Strong personal commitment to Women in Sport’s vision and purpose

· A demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

Terms of Appointment:

· The equivalent of circa 8-12 days per year are required. This will include four Board meetings, as well as additional committee meetings and one strategy day per year and representing the organisation in an ambassadorial capacity

· All Women in Sport Trustee appointments are non-remunerated. Expenses are available for all WiS related work

· It is expected that new Trustees will commit for at least one term of three years

As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you! 

You can expect us to

• Provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!
