We are looking for a Volunteer Personal Assistant to our CEO to provide practical administrative and organisational support to Michelle and help keep the day-to-day running of the organisation organised and on track.
The right volunteer will be someone who is organised, reliable, proactive and has good communication skills. You may already have experience in administration, personal assistance, office support or coordination, or you may be looking to build practical experience in these areas. You do not need previous PA experience as we will provide support and guidance.
Duties and responsibilities:
Supporting the CEO with day-to-day administrative and organisational tasks
Managing appointments, meetings and the CEO's calendar
Supporting with emails, correspondence and follow-ups
Organising documents, information and records
Keeping track of tasks, deadlines and actions
Supporting meeting preparation, including agendas, notes and follow-up actions
Carrying out basic research and gathering information when required
Supporting the coordination of events, meetings and organisational activities
Handling confidential information with appropriate discretion
Providing general administrative support to the CEO and wider organisation
We would ideally like the volunteer to give approximately 5–10 hours per week, with flexibility around their availability. The role is mainly based in Hackney, with some remote working possible depending on the tasks involved.
What you will need:
Strong organisation and time-management skills, good written and verbal communication, reliability and initiative. You should be comfortable managing information, keeping track of tasks and deadlines, and handling confidential information appropriately. Previous administration, PA or office experience would be helpful but is not essential.
What you will get from us:
Gain practical Personal Assistant and administrative experience while supporting the CEO of a community charity. You’ll develop transferable skills in organisation, communication, time management and coordination, gain insight into how a charity is managed, and build meaningful experience for your CV. You’ll also have the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership, develop your professional confidence and, subject to successful completion of the role, receive a personal reference from our Founder and CEO, Michelle. Most importantly, you’ll be making a genuine contribution to the work Children With Voices does for children, young people and families in Hackney.
