What is an Inventory volunteer?

The RAF Museum has many items in its collection which are not currently on display. Our inventory volunteers will ensure that we have an up-to-date record of all the items in our reserve collection, their purpose and condition, to help us prepare to move from our current store outside Stafford to a new storage facility in Cosford. This is a weekday only opportunity.

This role sits within the RAF Museum’s Midlands Development Programme which will transform our museum and our impact on the local community through a series of phased projects – engaging audiences who may not obviously identify with the RAF story by finding common interests and histories which link them. As part of this project, we are planning a new learning centre, outdoor spaces, collections hub and major exhibition.

What will I be doing?

The Inventory Volunteer role could encompass various tasks, which might include:

· Assessing objects’ condition

· Measuring and weighing items

· Undertaking cleaning as required

· Object photography

This role is perfect for you if you…

· Are curious and eager to learn

· Are organised and able to keep accurate records

How much time would I need to commit?

Ideally a half day (09:00 to 12:00 or 13:00 to 16:00) once a week, although other arrangements can be considered on a case-by-case basis. We would ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 20 volunteering sessions. This is a weekdays only opportunity.

· Assist in delivering sessions on:

o Menstrual hygiene .

· Support local team in simplifying health messages for communities

School Health Programs

· Organize interactive sessions in schools on:

o Hygiene practices for children

o Importance of cleanliness and health

· Conduct activities such as:

o Games and quizzes

o Awareness discussions

o Health-focused storytelling

Women’s Health & Menstrual Hygiene Awareness

· Support workshops on:

o Menstrual hygiene management

o Breaking myths and stigma

o Importance of hygiene and health for women

· Assist in distributing educational materials

Research & Data Collection

· Conduct basic surveys and collect community feedback

· Observe and document hygiene practices and health awareness levels

· Assist in preparing reports and case studies

About Obuyisi bw'Omu Initiative (OBI)

Obuyisi bw'Omu Initiative (OBI) is a youth-led nonprofit organization committed to creating lasting change in Uganda through mental health awareness, quality education, climate action, clean water and sanitation (WASH), and youth empowerment. We believe powerful stories inspire action, and we are looking for a creative volunteer to help amplify our impact through digital media.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Digital Marketing & Video Content Volunteer to strengthen OBI's online presence by creating engaging digital campaigns and compelling video content. The ideal candidate is creative, self-motivated, and experienced in both digital marketing and video editing, with a passion for using storytelling to drive social impact.
This is a fully remote volunteer position offering the opportunity to contribute to meaningful community development while building an international nonprofit portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms.
• Create engaging social media content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Edit short-form and long-form videos highlighting OBI's programs, events, and impact stories.
• Design and schedule social media posts that increase engagement and visibility.
• Transform photos, interviews, and field footage into compelling stories.
• Produce promotional videos for fundraising campaigns and volunteer recruitment.
• Optimize content for each social media platform.
• Assist in growing OBI's online community and supporter engagement.
• Monitor digital marketing performance and recommend improvements.
• Stay updated with current digital marketing and social media trends.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in digital marketing or social media management.
• Strong video editing skills using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
• Experience creating short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Basic graphic design skills using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Strong storytelling and content creation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Passion for nonprofit work and community development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with nonprofits or NGOs.
• Knowledge of social media analytics and content strategy.
• Experience with Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Hootsuite.
• Photography or motion graphics skills are an added advantage.
• Familiarity with fundraising or advocacy campaigns.

Why we want you
Please note: This role is only suitable for applicants aged
18 and over.
We’re seeking friendly, reliable individuals aged 18 or over to create clear,
accurate, and appealing online listings that convert into sales.
By volunteering with us in one of our amazing retail spaces you will be
raising essential funds for Oxfam – all whilst learning new skills and
meeting some incredible people.
