From community led campaigns to support for individuals and families facing life limiting illness, everything we do is rooted in compassion, transparency and real impact.

We are now looking for a Senior Social Media Manager to join us. This is a remote voluntary role, open to full time or part time applicants.

The Role

You will take senior ownership of Influential Stars’ social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn, helping shape how we show up across communities in the UK.

This is a hands on role for someone confident in planning, creating and scheduling content with purpose.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Managing and growing our social media presence across multiple platforms
• Planning, creating and scheduling consistent daily content, typically two to three posts per day
• Ensuring all content aligns with our branding, tone of voice and mission
• Sharing stories and campaigns that inspire awareness, connection and action
• Managing content calendars and scheduling tools confidently

• Proven experience managing social media across multiple platforms
• Strong understanding of engagement and awareness driven content
• Confidence working independently and taking ownership of output
• A proactive, organised approach
• A genuine connection to our mission and values

While this is a fully remote role, we would ideally love to hear from candidates based in London, Hertfordshire or the surrounding areas. This allows for occasional in person meet ups and helps us maintain a natural, family like team culture. That said, we warmly welcome applications from anywhere across the UK.

Northumberland Domestic Abuse Services (NDAS) has been supporting people affected by domestic abuse since 2003. We provide free, confidential emotional, practical and therapeutic support to women, men, children and young people, helping survivors to cope, recover and move forward. Alongside this, we deliver prevention education to reduce the number of people who go on to experience or cause domestic abuse.

Who we’re looking for

We’re keen to hear from people from a range of backgrounds and lived experiences. In particular, we would welcome Trustees with experience in:

• Finance / financial management

• Human Resources

• Legal expertise

You don’t need previous trustee experience, what matters most is a commitment to our values, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help NDAS grow and thrive.

What being a Trustee involves

As a Trustee, you’ll help guide the strategic direction of NDAS, ensure good governance, and support the charity to continue delivering high-quality services across Northumberland.

• Board meetings take place quarterly and usually last around 2 hours, held at our Hexham office

• Additional commitments include:

  • An Annual General Meeting

  • Occasional sub-committee meetings

  • A Board development day

  • Occasional NDAS events

• The average time commitment is around 4 hours per month, with some periods requiring a little more time

Trustee roles are voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you! 

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser.  You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.

How much time is expected of me? 

Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

Purpose of the role

The Chair and Board will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the CIC, ensuring it operates effectively, legally, and in line with its community benefit purpose.

Statutory duties (as the Board)

• Promote and ensure good governance

• Review and support the strategic direction of the CIC, setting ambitious targets, evaluating performance and measuring achievements

• Ensure activities continue to meet the community interest test (by demonstrating that Northern Rascal’s activities are carried on for the benefit of the community and do not result in private profit)

• Make sure the CIC’s finances and property are protected and used only for community benefit

• Oversee financial management, budgets, and risk

• Ensure compliance with Company law; CIC regulations; Companies House filing requirements

• Approve and sign off the annual CIC report

• Appoint, support, and oversee senior staff 

• Act in the best interests of the CIC at all times

• Declare and manage conflicts of interest

Further responsibilities 

• Ensure the organisation adheres to the funding criteria for the grants received from Arts Council and other funders

• Promote a progressive understanding of and commitment to diversity in all forms

• Extend the company’s networks of contacts and open doors

• Support and contribute to the development of fundraising

• Review and approve internal policies, such as Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, Finance.

• Support the Co-Directors with insights from your own experience and knowledge

We are recruiting for Volunteers to to join our team in the National Domestic Abuse Helpline Team.

Job Title: National Domestic Abuse Helpline Volunteers

Location: Homeworking

Hours: 3-4 hours per week. (We are currently looking for candidates who can support us for shifts between 10am-10pm. Any day, Monday – Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday & Sunday)

We want kind and empathic people to work at Refuge, who believe in equality, diversity, and inclusion, are experts in their area of knowledge, want to make a positive difference and improve the lives of the women and children we support.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Helpline Volunteer to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and their children living in our refuges.

We are looking for volunteers to ensure those who contact us are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming service as well as providing trauma-informed emotional support to women who are experiencing domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG). You will also aid survivors in their understanding the dynamics of domestic abuse and the different forms it takes.
