About Us
Adanna Women’s Support Group is a small but impactful non-profit support group dedicated to supporting and empowering women in our community who have experienced some of life’s challenges and lost their confidence and have no local network. Through our programmes, advocacy, and partnerships, we aim to create opportunities, provide support, build confidence and amplify the voices of women facing social and economic challenges.
We are looking for a creative and passionate Marketing & PR Officer to help raise awareness of our work, strengthen our public profile, and engage supporters, partners, and donors.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys storytelling, digital marketing, and community engagement. As a key member of a small team, you will lead our marketing and PR activity, helping us share our impact, promote our programmes, and grow our supporter base.
You will create engaging content, manage social media platforms, coordinate media outreach, and support the promotion of events and campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver marketing campaigns to promote the charity’s services, events, and impact.
- Manage and grow the charity’s social media presence through engaging and regular content.
- Write press releases, stories, and communications that highlight the charity’s work.
- Build relationships with media outlets, partners, and community organisations.
- Support the promotion of fundraising campaigns and community events.
- Update website content and assist with digital marketing initiatives.
- Ensure consistent branding across all communications and materials.
- Create engaging flyers and publicity materials for our services and events that is consistent with our branding and ensuring our funders logos are prominently displayed
About You
We’re looking for someone who is creative, organised, and passionate about making a difference.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in marketing, communications, or PR.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital content.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- A genuine interest in supporting women and promoting equality.
Experience in the non-profit/charity sector is helpful but not essential.

PUBLICITY & MARKETING VOLUNTEER
Across the UK, our 65 local branches work with disabled people to help them live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.
Our Publicity & Marketing volunteers play an essential role in publicising and raising awareness of their local branch’s activities.
What the role involves
This is a varied role that each branch tends to do a bit differently, but it will involve:
• Collecting case studies from the clients we help
• Writing stories for the local press
• Distributing literature
• Arranging talks
• Working with the Central Team to promote panel activities
We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, and there’s an induction that covers all the areas above. You’ll also have chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.
What you’ll need for this role
• Confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email
• Confident using social media platforms
• Warm, approachable and confident to engage with clients to gather their story
• Able to follow REMAP policies and procedures
• Able to apply disability, equality, and inclusion practices
• Able to keep people’s personal details safe
• A commitment to our values
You’ll also need to complete the induction checklist and some online training.

Join the RCGP Scottish Patient Forum
The Royal College of General Practitioners Scotland is recruiting new members to the RCGP Scottish Patient Forum.
From feeding into policy consultations, to assisting with the development of College communications and campaigns, members of the RCGP Scottish Patient Forum play a key role in helping to shape the work of the College in Scotland.
This is a voluntary role for a term of up to three years.
You do not need experience of being on a committee or advisory group.
What You’ll Do
· Take part in up to three online Forum meetings per year, offering your insights and lived experience.
· Provide feedback on RCGP Scotland policy papers, consultation responses and strategic documents.
· Act as a sounding board for press and communications activity to help ensure the patient perspective is reflected.
· Represent the Forum at relevant conferences, workshops, seminars or clinical groups (subject to your availability).
· Contribute to wider College activities where capacity and interest allow.
What We’re Looking For

· Understand or are interested in current health and social care issues in Scotland.
· Have an interest in the work and aims of RCGP Scotland.
· Can work collaboratively, respect diverse perspectives and contribute constructively to group discussions.
