Taunton Brewhouse is looking for trustees from all backgrounds. Key is sharing our vision for a bold, brilliant cultural venue in Taunton, adding to our existing skills and expedrience and prepared to to play an active role in meeting the challenges ahead.

As a trustee, you'll share responsibility for:
- agreeing strategy and goals for Taunton Brewhouse
- appointing and setting salaries for senior management
- giving oversight and support to management
- paying attention to financial management
- ensuring due diligence in all regulatory matters including safe-guarding
- ensuring a robust approach to management of risk.
You'll attend Board meeting although much work is carried out in projects or committees. You'll be an ambassador for Taunton Brewhouse and support our wider endeavours through attending press and community events.
There are 5 formal meetings pa held in evenings at Taunton Brewhouse. Other meetings are generally in the day and are organised around the diaries of those involved. We also aim for an annual 'away-day' to enable trustees time to reflect, plan and develop the organisation and themselves.
Please note that exceptional expenses are paid by prior agreement.

CAFOD Advisor Recruitment - Strategy Performance Committee (SPC)
Role
Committee member, providing expert fundraising expertise to this Committee of the Board, alongside Trustees and other expert advisors. The SPC exercises governance activities on behalf of the Board and provides recommendations to the Board. The remit of the SPC covers CAFOD’s strategy to recruit and engage donors and supporters, and its global programmatic work, so covers both CAFOD’s international activities as well as the work within the Catholic Community in England and Wales.
Essential Criteria
- Professional fundraising expert with experience in the Charity sector
- Experience of multiple income portfolio management and strategy - particularly fundraising from the public (individual giving, legacy fundraising, community fundraising, major donor engagement etc.)
- Respect for the goals, ethos and culture of CAFOD
Advantageous
- An understanding of fundraising in a faith context
- Familiarity with Fundraising Regulator best practice & or a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising
- Knowledge of fundraising for international causes
Time commitment
- Four half-day meetings a year, currently two at CAFOD HQ, Romero House, London and two online.
- Some preparatory reading time is required before meetings
- No specific minimum term but a commitment to give approximately 2-3 years would be preferable.

We are seeking a new Treasurer with experience as a qualified accountant, to drive the financial sustainability our charity supporting unpaid carers.
What will you be doing?
Our Board of Trustees is made up of 11 trustees from a range of backgrounds including, health, social care, education and the private sector.
Demand for our services is higher than it has ever been. Cases are increasingly complex and resources stretched. Changes to the funding landscape, including the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and North East Combined Authority (NECA) present both challenges and opportunities for the organisation. As the ICB looks to make savings, new regional opportunities are arising with NECA, which require collaboration across a number of carer organisations.
We are one year into our 5 year strategic cycle, which sets out clear priorities and goals. To help us grow and thrive, and, deliver our Corporate Strategy, we need a Treasurer who can:
- Oversee our finances and keep us sustainable
- Ensure we meet charity requirements
- Support the management team with budgets, reporting, and good financial practice.
The Treasurer will play a vital role in guiding our Trustees in overseeing our finances and helping us succeed. We’re looking for someone who is a qualified accountant and is willing to give a few hours a month to support the work we do.

Trustee Treasurer: We are seeking a committed individual with a proven, professional track record of financial management and leadership at the highest level, and a sound understanding and experience of the voluntary sector. Lay Directors of the Governing Board (x2)
£200 - £250 per day, plus expenses

The British Acupuncture Council is seeking to recruit two Lay Directors to join our Governing Board to replace the directors who stood down in 2025.
The ideal candidates will have previous experience as a non-executive director or trustee of a charity, company or community interest company, an understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and the experience of working with a strategic risk management structure.
The successful applicants will also have a keen interest in acupuncture and a passion for promoting it as a valid healthcare choice.
Person specification and skills:
· Clear, strategic thinker.
· Ability to think creatively.
· Strong diplomacy and listening skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality under the GDPR and data protection legislation.
· Ability to demonstrate integrity, objectivity, accountability, and openness.

· Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to the BAcC, with a focus on your area of expertise.
Additionally, we are seeking individuals with specific skills and expertise in one or both of the following areas:
Business development and fundraising
· Experience in business development and income diversification especially within the health and well being sector.
· Experience of identifying and critically assessing strategic opportunities and threats and developing effective organisational strategies.
· Oversight to drive income generation strategy and apply objective scrutiny to complex funding initiatives within a highly regulated healthcare sector.
Healthcare management
· In-depth experience and understanding of the wider UK health and wellbeing sector.
· Senior level management experience in a complex organisation (ideally NHS).
· Extensive network and connections with stakeholders within the healthcare sector, including policy-makers.
· Experience in membership services and public relations.
Commitment
Four Governing Board meetings per year.
One additional away day and attendance at annual conference.
Ad-hoc interim meetings by agreement.
Committee participation by agreement.
