On site we have two shops to volunteer in. The Showroom is Martlets primary furniture and home goods store and the Discount Shop is home to our £1 clothing rails. Both are hubs for our local community to share stories and bag a bargain! We work together with the warehouse to take in the majority of donations for the charity.

Volunteering in our shops offers a variety of exciting tasks. From sorting and pricing donations to spotting hidden gems, you'll roll up your sleeves in the backroom and assist on the shop floor. You will be vital to the work of your local Scope shop, as one of the first faces customers see.

You will receive training on serving our customers on the till, taking payments and making Gift Aid donations. This makes a real difference to our income and the number of disabled people we can support.

Your role may include:

• using the till and cash handling
• welcoming and supporting customers
• helping to display stock and window dressing
• preparing goods for sale
• tidying and cleaning the shop

When and where

You will be based at our Scope shop at 64 High Street, Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17 5EA. We are flexible on the times you would like to volunteer. We’d love your help for as little as 1 hour a week, but if you can give more time that would help us even more.

Our Broughty Ferry Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Join FARA, a charity with over 30 years of experience and 39 charity shops across London. Our Streatham shop is looking for friendly and reliable Customer Service Volunteers to support the day-to-day running of the store and help create a welcoming experience for our customers.

By volunteering with us, you’ll not only support our charitable work but also contribute to creating a positive experience for our community of customers. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring that items FARA cannot sell are responsibly redirected, helping us further our commitment to a sustainable economy.

The Role:

• As a volunteer, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Assisting with stock placement and replenishment on the shop floor
• Creating and maintaining engaging product displays
• Greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Using the till as part of day-to-day shop operations

Are you interested in fashion, weddings or proms? Then this could be a fantastic volunteer role for you. The role includes helping brides pick out a dress for their big special day, chatting to the relatives and making the experience one to remember! The St Barnabas Shop in Worthing town Centre offer a wide range of beautiful affordable outfits, including wedding dresses, suits and prom dresses.

You’ll get the chance to meet new people and make friends, plus you’ll be part of a fantastic team of volunteers. We are ideally looking for assistance on a Saturday and one day during the week, however please do get in touch to discuss availability.

We are Tŷ Hafan.

We provide comfort, care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their loved ones.

Too many families in Wales are struggling through the fear, exhaustion and uncertainty that comes with caring for a child whose life will be short.

At the moment we only have enough money and resources to support 10% of the families who need us.

Through volunteering, you can help us to reach every family who needs us.

As a Till & Customer Service Volunteer at our Cowbridge shop, you will assist our shop managers by serving and greeting customers and keeping the shop organised.

Our Cowbridge shop is in a prime location in the middle of the town's high street, immediately next to an all too tempting deli and about a two minute walk from the town car park.

The shop boasts a large window in which deputy manager Gemma creates themed and highly creative window for which they shop has won many an award.

Tom and Gemma have been utilising eBay to sell highest quality donations with great success and have recently launched a shop Instagram page (search tyhafancowbridge).

Tom and Gemma are always on the lookout for quirky, rare, vintage and high-value donations, and our jewellery, bric-a-brac and antiques specialists are more than happy to appraise any stock that comes our way. Further to this, books and vinyl also sell very well at Cowbridge.

The shop is open 9am-4:45pm Monday-Sunday and we appreciate any time you can spare.

Our shops generate funds that directly support the whole family, from therapeutic services for children, to emotional and practical care for families, to sibling support activities & experiences.

Considerations:

Age requirement: 18+

Location: 29 High Street, Cowbridge CF71 7AE

Commitment: Ideally, we would be looking for your support for at least 2 hours a week.

Current available shifts: Monday PM, Thursday PM

As a volunteer, you could be involved in various activities, depending on your preferences, skills and experience, these include:

•Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all customers entering the shop;

•Delivering excellent customer service to ensure a pleasant shopping experience;

•Handling cash transactions and operating the till with accuracy;

• Encouraging customers to sign up for Gift Aid, which increases the value of their donations;

• Selling and processing our raffle/lottery tickets;

• Acting as an ambassador for Tŷ Hafan, promoting our Big Ambition within your local community.

 At Tŷ Hafan our people values are working together, demonstrating compassion, providing excellent service and taking ownership.
We ask that all colleagues and volunteers of Tŷ Hafan behave with high levels of integrity and to represent our values as a core part of their role.
