We’re looking for a Senior Developer / Tech Lead (Volunteer) to guide the build, unblock the team, and help us ship a solid, scalable product. This is a light commitment (2–5 hours per week), but a high-leverage role: you’ll be working closely alongside the founders and our Product Manager.
What you’ll do (2–5 hrs/week)

Lead engineering direction: keep the build clean, pragmatic, and shippable.

Review PRs and raise code quality (architecture, security, performance, maintainability).

Help prioritise technical work with the founders + Product Manager.

Support and mentor a small volunteer/dev team (light-touch guidance, not heavy management).

Set up or improve engineering foundations (CI/CD, environments, observability, release process).

Identify risk early (security, data handling, scalability) and propose solutions.

What we’re looking for

Senior-level software engineering experience (ideally with leading small teams or acting as tech lead).

Solid judgement around security, data handling, and best practices.

A collaborative communicator who can keep things calm and moving.

Voluntary Sales Administrator. This role is designed for individuals looking to gain foundational
experience and an understanding of the sales lifecycle in a professional environment.
The administrator will provide essential support to the Sales Team, ensuring smooth operation
of all outreach campaigns and accurate performance reporting. This is a learning role focused
on developing business-critical administrative, research, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Areas
The Administrator will support the sales function by focusing on administrative efficiency and
target identification:
● Email Creation and Dissemination:
○ Drafting, preparing, and proofreading sales outreach emails and follow-up templates
(using tools like Mailchimp).
○ Assisting with the dissemination of campaigns to target audiences under the guidance
of the Sales Director.
● Target Audience Research:
○ Researching and identifying suitable target audiences, groups, and individuals for our
core service offerings (e.g., ePDP, iPDP, Workshops).
○ Collecting and verifying contact data (Email, Name, Phone) for the sales pipeline and
CRM systems.
● Sales Reporting and Metrics:
○ Assisting with the collection of sales data, including open rates, conversion tracking,
and campaign performance metrics.
○ Preparing basic sales reports to highlight outreach efficiency and campaign success.
● Administrative Support:
○ Managing and updating the sales contacts database and CRM (Customer Relationship
Management) system.
○ Organizing and maintaining sales documents and collateral.
Requirements & Skills
● Essential: A strong interest in pursuing a career in sales, marketing, or business

● Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft

CONTEXT
The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in
Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children.
We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to
identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions. We
offer a baby bank, a charity shop & various community support services to help
women facing crises or challenging situations.
Wolverhampton Baby Bank is a flagship project run by The Women & Families
Resource Centre, a registered charity supporting families with children aged 0-3.
Through donated essentials and community engagement, we provide much-needed
items such as:
• Essential supplies for babies and toddlers, including nappies, wipes, clothing, toys,
and bedding.
• Support services for new parents, including drop-in groups and befriending for
pregnant women and new mothers.
• Referrals and resources to connect families with additional community services.
Scope and Span
The Sorting Team Lead oversees the day-to-day coordination of the sorting function within WFRC, directly supervising volunteers during scheduled shifts and ensuring all donated items are processed efficiently, safely, and in line with organisational standards. The role is responsible for maintaining quality control, organisation of stock, volunteer task allocation, and adherence to the structured volunteer framework. While not responsible for overall strategic decisions, the Sorting Team Lead plays a key operational role in ensuring continuity, consistency, and readiness of essential supplies for families, escalating concerns where necessary to senior leadership.

Our work supports and empowers women and families facing challenging circumstances, and your role is essential in helping us provide consistent, reliable, and respectful services. To ensure fairness, sustainability, and high-quality support for the community, all volunteers are expected to follow the structured framework and guidelines below.

Minimum of 12hrs per week and 4hrs per day

Attend agreed shifts consistently and provide notice if unable to attend.

Roles and Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate volunteers within the sorting team during scheduled shifts.

Allocate tasks clearly and fairly based on volunteer skills, experience, and capacity.

Ensure all donated items are sorted according to WFRC quality, safety, and dignity standards.

Inspect items to ensure they are clean, safe, age-appropriate, and fit for distribution.

Oversee categorisation of items (e.g., clothing by size/age, equipment, toiletries, toys, bedding).

Maintain an organised, safe, and efficient sorting area at all times.

Monitor stock levels and report shortages or surplus items to the appropriate lead.

Support the induction and guidance of new volunteers within the sorting team.

Ensure volunteers follow agreed schedules and the structured volunteer framework.

Promote a positive, respectful, and supportive team environment.

Escalate safeguarding, health and safety, or operational concerns promptly.

Maintain accurate records where required (stock tracking, donation logs, volunteer attendance).
