Why does Roots Academy exist?
 

Crisis of Faith: 1 in 4 young Muslims are leaving the religion due to various factors, primarily the pervasive anti-religious content and temptations they encounter online and oine.

Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that provokes thought and action.

Role Summary

To bring our vision to life, you will play a key role in shaping how Roots Academy tells its story visually. As a Videographer, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality video content that supports our educational programs, strengthens our online presence, and helps our message resonate deeply with audiences across digital platforms.

Key Tasks

• Plan, film, and capture high-quality video content for social media, campaigns, events, interviews, and educational content.
• Work collaboratively with content leads, marketers, and editors to deliver video assets aligned with campaign goals.
• Set up and manage camera, audio, and lighting equipment as needed for shoots.
• Ensure all footage is captured in line with Roots Academy's visual style and brand guidelines.
• Organise, label, and maintain video files and footage libraries in shared drives.
• Support with basic shot planning, scene composition, and creative direction where needed.

What we're looking for:

• Passion for Islamic education and contributing to the development of young Muslims.
• Strong videography skills with experience using cameras, audio equipment, and lighting setups.
• A good eye for composition, storytelling, and visual detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage shoots efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and openness to feedback.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once.
• Be able to bring their own equipment.

Cystar

We empower people with PCOS through a personalized digital platform for education, care, and community.

We’re looking for an experienced and results-driven Digital Ad Campaign Manager to help grow the Cystar app through strategic digital advertising.

As an early-stage FemTech startup, we’re looking for someone with at least 2–3 years of hands-on experience managing digital advertising campaigns who can help us reach more people living with PMOS (Previously PCOS). You’ll work closely with the Founder to plan, launch, optimise, and measure advertising campaigns across Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Google Ads, TikTok, and other digital platforms.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating high-performing campaigns, analysing results, and helping a mission-driven startup scale its impact.

🚀 What You’ll Do

📢 Digital Advertising

• Plan, create, and manage advertising campaigns to promote the Cystar app across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, and other digital platforms
• Develop app install, awareness, lead generation, and conversion campaigns
• Research and define audience targeting strategies to maximise campaign performance
• Monitor campaign budgets and recommend how advertising spend should be allocated across platforms

🎯 Campaign Optimisation

• Monitor and optimise campaigns to improve performance and reduce acquisition costs
• Conduct A/B testing on creatives, audiences, messaging, and landing pages
• Identify opportunities to improve campaign efficiency and maximise return on investment
• Recommend new advertising strategies based on campaign insights and industry trends

🎨 Creative Collaboration

• Work closely with the Social Media Content Creator and Social Media Graphic Designer to develop engaging advertising creatives
• Help write compelling ad copy and calls to action
• Ensure advertising assets align with campaign objectives and the Cystar brand

📊 Analytics & Reporting

• Track and report on key campaign metrics, including:
  • App downloads
  • Click-through rate (CTR)
  • Cost per click (CPC)
  • Cost per install (CPI)
  • Cost per acquisition (CPA)
  • Conversion rate
  • Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), where applicable
• Produce regular reports with recommendations to improve future campaigns
• Work with the Product Analytics & Growth Assistant to understand the quality and retention of acquired users

🤝 Collaboration

• Work closely with the Founder to plan and execute advertising campaigns aligned with Cystar’s growth goals
• Collaborate with the Growth Funnel & Automation Assistant to optimise the customer journey after users click an advert
• Support app launches, awareness campaigns, and product initiatives through digital advertising

🌿 We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has 2–3 years of experience in digital marketing, digital advertising, app marketing, or performance marketing
• Has hands-on experience creating and managing advertising campaigns across Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and/or TikTok Ads
• Understands audience targeting, campaign optimisation, and A/B testing
• Is confident analysing campaign performance and making data-driven recommendations
• Has experience tracking metrics such as CTR, CPC, CPA, CPI, conversion rates, and ROAS
• Is organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple campaigns simultaneously
• Has excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Has an interest in digital health, startups, or women’s health

Project Yananai is entering an exciting phase of growth. We are now seeking an exceptional Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) to join our Global Executive Leadership Team and work in close partnership with the CEO.

This is a newly created role for a senior leader who can operate comfortably at both strategic and operational level — someone who can help turn ambition into execution, bring clarity across a growing organisation and provide confident leadership when the CEO is unavailable.

You will be much more than a traditional deputy. You will be a trusted partner to the CEO, a strategic integrator across the executive team and an ambassador for Project Yananai externally.

The opportunity

As DCEO, you will provide the leadership capacity and organisational resilience needed to support Project Yananai through its next stage of development.

You will partner with the CEO to translate our Strategic Growth and Impact Plan into clear priorities, ensure that those priorities are delivered across the organisation and help connect our executive functions around shared goals.

When required, you will step into the CEO's responsibilities, providing continuity of leadership and representing the organisation with confidence to donors, partners, government bodies, media and other key stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to have genuine organisational influence at a pivotal moment — helping shape how a growing international non-profit operates, leads and delivers impact.

What you will do

• Act as the CEO's senior deputy and assume executive responsibility during periods of absence, including strategic decision-making, external representation, oversight of programmes, finance and compliance, and leadership of the Global Executive Leadership Team.
• Turn strategy into execution
• Work alongside the CEO to translate organisational vision into practical priorities, milestones and actions — ensuring that strategic commitments become measurable results.
• Drive alignment across the executive leadership team, working across Advancement, People & Governance, Finance, Mission Operations and Communications to remove silos and ensure teams are working towards common objectives.
• Monitor organisational performance against KPIs and strategic objectives, identify bottlenecks and risks, and help ensure that plans are delivered effectively, on time and within budget.
• Represent Project Yananai with major donors, partners, government stakeholders and other external audiences. Build trusted relationships that strengthen our mission, reputation and fundraising potential.
• Work alongside the Chief People & Governance Officer and Global General Counsel to support strong governance, risk management and compliance across our international operations.
• Help create a culture of collaboration, accountability and innovation. Mentor senior leaders, support succession planning and champion diversity, equity and inclusion across the organisation.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a seasoned executive, rather than simply an experienced functional leader.

You will ideally bring 10–15+ years of senior leadership experience within the non-profit, international development or humanitarian sector, together with a track record of leading organisations through growth, transformation or complexity.

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience operating at executive or enterprise leadership level.
• A proven ability to deputise for a CEO or assume full executive responsibility when required.
• Experience leading across multiple countries and cultures, ideally with exposure to Africa and/or South Asia.
• Strong strategic and operational leadership, with the ability to move seamlessly between big-picture thinking and execution.
• A sophisticated understanding of governance, risk and compliance within an international non-profit environment.
• Strong fundraising and partnership instincts, with the credibility to engage senior donors and high-value partners.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience overseeing budgets of £5m+.
• Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
• The emotional intelligence and resilience to lead through uncertainty, change and organisational growth.
• Experience with French, Portuguese or relevant local languages would be advantageous.

We provide counselling, wellbeing programmes, advocacy, and specialist training for professionals, schools, and organisations across London and the Essex borders. Our mission is to empower LGBTQ+ communities, improve mental health, amplify our voices, and promote equality through education, awareness, and support.

The Role

We are seeking new trustees to help guide our work and shape our future. As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our charity remains sustainable, inclusive, and impactful for the communities we serve.

You’ll Be Involved In:

· Setting strategy, policies, and goals
