The role:

As Chief Advancement Officer, you will lead Project Yananai's global Advancement function, overseeing the three pillars that fuel our mission:

• Fundraising
• Partnerships
• Communications

You will be responsible for developing and delivering an integrated advancement strategy across institutional grants, foundations, corporate partnerships, major gifts, and innovative funding models, ensuring that fundraising, partnerships, and communications work together to support sustainable organisational growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Trustees, you will secure the resources, relationships, and visibility needed to expand our impact across multiple nations.

You will lead a global team comprising:

• Director of Fundraising
• Director of Partnerships
• Director of Communications
• Deputy Chief Advancement Officer – Resource Mobilisation

You will also provide strategic oversight to Advancement teams across India, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, ensuring alignment between global priorities and local delivery.

This is a leadership role that combines strategic vision with hands-on execution. You will personally cultivate and secure major funding opportunities while building a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and accountability across the Advancement function.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and deliver a global advancement strategy integrating fundraising, partnerships, and communications.
• Set ambitious income and engagement targets and monitor performance against agreed objectives.
• Ensure a cohesive and compelling external presence that strengthens Project Yananai's profile and impact.

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

• Personally manage and grow a portfolio of high-value donor relationships.
• Lead the development of complex funding proposals and major funding opportunities.
• Represent Project Yananai with donors, funders, partners, and sector stakeholders.

Partnerships & Communications

• Oversee the development of strategic corporate, philanthropic, and multi-sector partnerships.
• Ensure communications effectively support fundraising, partnership development, donor stewardship, and brand positioning.
• Champion compelling impact storytelling that articulates Project Yananai's Theory of Change.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop senior advancement leaders and their teams.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across countries and functions.
• Build organisational capability through coaching, professional development, and succession planning.

Growth, Innovation & Governance

• Develop new income streams and innovative partnership models.
• Ensure compliance with donor, regulatory, and organisational requirements.
• Provide regular reporting and strategic advice to the CEO and Board of Trustees.

About You

You are an accomplished advancement leader with a proven track record of securing significant funding and building strategic partnerships within the international development, humanitarian, or nonprofit sector.

You will bring:

• Extensive senior leadership experience in advancement, fundraising, or resource mobilisation.
• Demonstrated success securing six- and seven-figure funding from institutional donors, foundations, corporates, and major donors.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across fundraising, partnerships, and communications.
• Strong understanding of global funding markets across the UK, Europe, USA, Africa, and the Gulf.
• Experience operating across multiple countries and complex stakeholder environments.
• Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and communication skills.
• Strong commercial, financial, and strategic acumen.
• A collaborative, resilient, and entrepreneurial leadership style.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join the team in our exciting new community space! Plateful Cafe is a recently established charity that seeks to help refugees in the surrounding area into employment within the food and hospitality sector. We are opening a community cafe selling delicious Middle Eastern food such as hummus, falafels, salads, okra stew and much more! Our cafe will be staffed by people with refugee status and experiences of forced migration who are being trained to work in the food industry, as well as dedicated volunteers like you. Designated Safeguarding Lead

AuDHD UK

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Reports to: CEO/COO

Commitment: Flexible, part-time (details negotiable)

Role: Unpaid volunteer position

Purpose: To ensure AuDHD UK upholds the highest safeguarding standards, protecting children, young people, and adults at risk. The DSL will oversee safeguarding policies, training, compliance, and case management across the organisation.

The DSL position does not require daily volunteering, but would require timely responses from queries raised by the safeguarding team. 

As a Key Staff member within AuDHD UK, the DSL will be required to provide weekly updates to the COO/CEO regarding safeguarding case management of beneficiaries using AuDHD UK services and are expected to be able to ensure the wider safeguarding team feel supported in their roles. Ideal candidates would be free on Wednesdays at 12-1pm to attend our weekly Key Staff meetings, although this is not essential if the right candidate is unavailable during this time. 

This role requires an Enhanced Adult DBS - please only apply if you meet the requirements for a DBS check to be carried out (a 5 year UK address history with a maximum of 12 months abroad AND a biometric passport/ID card for an online ID check). 

Key Responsibilities

Safeguarding Case Management

• Act as the central point of contact for safeguarding concerns and external escalations.

• Respond to incidents and provide clear advice to staff and volunteers.

• Manage referrals and liaise with statutory agencies when needed.

Risk Assessment & Policy Oversight

• Lead on risk assessments and ensure proportionate responses to concerns.

• Review and update AuDHD UK’s Safeguarding Framework and related policies.

• Ensure safeguarding pathways are clear, accessible, and consistently followed.

Compliance & Governance

• Monitor compliance with safeguarding legislation and guidance.

• Maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records.

• Contribute to audits, reviews, and continuous improvement activities.

Training & Awareness

• Deliver in-house safeguarding training for all staff and volunteers.

• Promote a culture of vigilance, accountability, and reflective practice.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work with the CEO, COO, trustees, Clinical Lead, and Care Coordinator to align safeguarding with organisational goals.

• Bring safeguarding expertise into strategic planning and service design.

Essential Skills & Attributes

• Recognised safeguarding training or substantial safeguarding experience.

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding law, statutory guidance, and best practice.

• Sound judgment, discretion, and empathy in complex situations.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to sensitive cases.

• Commitment to AuDHD UK’s mission and values.

• Lived experience of AuDHD (desired).

Time Commitment Estimate

• Safeguarding case management including external escalations : 2–4 hrs/week (variable depending on incidents)

• Risk assessment external escalation: 1-3 hours a week (this may be increased at times of increased activity within the charity e.g. before the beginning of Peer Support Cohort assignments

• Policy framework updates: 4–6 hrs/quarter

• Training and team awareness: 2–3 hrs/quarter

• Safeguarding audits, governance, and meetings: 2–4 hrs/quarter

Touch Wood is a wood recycling and upcycling initiative, which collects surplus and waste wood and timber and gives it a new lease of life, preventing it from being burned, chipped, or dumped in landfill.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Preparing wood for resale

* Assisting with the construction of wooden products, from small household items to pieces of furniture

Our Touch Wood volunteers are able to gain skills in practical woodworking, as we offer hands-on experience of working with reclaimed timber; from making basic lumber products ready for resale, through to assisting with the creation of bespoke items, such as kitchen equipment and home and garden furniture.

Full training in woodworking and health and safety is provided, along with Personal Protection Equipment.
Capped reimbursement of expenses is awarded for lunches and travel, where applicable.

The UK generates around 5 million tonnes of wood waste every year, but less than 1% is reused. Touch Wood rescues waste timber that would otherwise be landfilled or turned into woodchip; creating jobs and training opportunities for disadvantaged local people at the same time. We collect from construction sites, industrial estates and other commercial sources, reclaiming everything from pallets to indoor cycle tracks – you name it, we take it! Anything we can’t reuse is locally recycled, so nothing goes to waste. This reduces the carbon emissions associated with disposing of waste wood, offers cost savings for DIY enthusiasts, and provides training and job potential to volunteers in the workshop. Some of the timber we work with comes from high profile sources, including the entire track of the Manchester Velodrome cycling centre and wood removed in the recent refurbishment of Manchester’s historic Town Hall!

Our skilled team of staff and volunteers often use reclaimed timber to create beautiful and practical products, such as home and garden furniture. We regularly create bespoke pieces to order; some of it for famous clients like Olympic cycling champions Jason and Laura Kenny, for whom we made a table from the Manchester Velodrome track.

Please be advised that our volunteers require a fair level of physical fitness and manual dexterity as the role is entirely practical.

Our Touch Wood workshop and wood store is open Mon-Fri, 8.30am - 4pm.
We occupy a unit at Maynard House, inside New Smithfield Market, in Openshaw, North Manchester, which is accessed from the main entrance on Whitworth Street East (off Ashton Old Road). The site is served well by buses, and we have free parking onsite, as well as secure storage racks for pushbikes.

You must be resident in the UK and living in Greater Manchester, or within easy commuting distance of our base, in order to volunteer with us. There are no exceptions to this rule. This is because we require volunteers to be able to reliably commit to regular shifts for some of our roles. We are unable to offer sponsorship for overseas applicants.

We are looking for a Volunteer Market Stall Trader, to help sell produce made by our refugee chefs to customers at local markets. This role involves setting up and taking down the market stall, engaging with potential customers, explaining our products, addressing inquiries, and actively promoting sales. You will gain valuable experience in sales and customer service.

What will you be doing?

• Market Stall Setup and Take Down: Assist in the set up and take down of the market stall, including arranging products, setting up signage, and ensuring the stall is presentable.
• Product Promotion/Sales Encouragement: Engage with potential customers, explaining our products, the refugees who made them and our story, answering questions and providing recommendations as needed.
• Sales Transactions: Handle sales transactions efficiently and accurately including Zettle for cards and also cash.

Desirables:

• Ability to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting and physical labour, such as setting up and taking down the market stall
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Willingness to learn about our charity and products and effectively communicate this to customers
• Basic numeracy skills required for processing sales transactions and handling money
