Green Allotments is a small, national, charity on a mission to create new allotment sites in England. 

We are currently looking for lovely volunteers for various roles which are all home-based:

Archaeologist (desk-based, minimum of 3 years work experience)

Occasional professional/specialist micro-volunteers

Landscape Architect (minimum of 3 years work experience)

Social Media Supporters

Welsh Language Translators / Gwirfoddoli Cyfieithwyr Cymraeg

There are no set hours when volunteering for us and you can turn down anything that you are offered. Obviously, we will treat you with dignity and respect.

We do not anticipate that you will incur expenses in this role. We expect our volunteers to already have an internet connection and be willing to use that as part of their volunteer role with Green Allotments CIO.

(At present we are unable to accept applications from under 18s, although we hope to be able to do so in the future as our charity grows)

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton, dedicated to supporting, empowering, and advocating for women and children. We help women facing crisis or challenging situations by encouraging independence and providing practical community support services.

Our flagship project, the Wolverhampton Baby Bank, supports families with children aged 0–3 by providing essential items such as nappies, clothing, bedding, toys, and other vital baby supplies.

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Listing Associate (Volunteer) to support the Baby Bank operations onsite.

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately recording, organizing, and photographing donated items to ensure our inventory system is up to date, well-organised, and visually documented for efficient distribution.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structured work, has an eye for detail, and wants to contribute to a meaningful community service.

Key Responsibilities

• Record all approved donated items into the inventory system
• Categorize items by type, size, age range, and condition
• Take clear and consistent photographs of items for listing purposes
• Ensure all items are correctly labeled and stored in designated areas
• Update stock levels and item status in tracking sheets or inventory tools
• Coordinate with the sorting team to verify item condition before listing
• Maintain organised digital folders for item photographs
• Flag missing, damaged, or mismatched items to the Team Lead
• Follow all operational SOPs for data entry and documentation

What We’re Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic experience in admin, inventory, data entry, or photography (preferred but not essential)
• Comfortable using Google Drive, Excel, or similar tools
• Basic photography skills (clear, well-lit, consistent images)

About The Connection at St Martin’s

No one should have to sleep rough on London’s streets and everyone should get the support they need to find a place to call home. 

This is an exciting time for The Connection.  Although rough sleeping is increasing on our streets, we believe we have the solutions.  To meet the growing need for our help, we need to secure more resources.  We are planning a new fundraising strategy so that we can save lives, work more closely with health services and get more people into long term accommodation.

About the Role

To achieve this, we are looking for more fundraising expertise at Board level.  We are looking for a senior fundraising professional to join our active and skilled board.  Ideally you are a Fundraising Director working in a successful medium to large charity, with strong knowledge of highly effective, innovative fundraising teams.  You will guide us to get the best from the resources we put in and steer further investment to support ambitious growth.

We have a particular interest in major donor and corporate fundraising as these are areas where we have the opportunities for growth.  We are also keen to build relationships with senior leaders at funder organisations and encourage them to act as ambassadors to promote our cause.

The Connection has very strong brand recognition for our size due to our location in the centre of London and our long standing relationship with the BBC through the Radio 4 Christmas Appeal.  Help us with our step change in fundraising so that we can make a huge difference to people sleeping rough on our streets.

Impact Communications & Content Strategist

We are looking for a volunteer Impact Communications & Content Strategist to help shape how we communicate our work globally.

Red Diamond Compost develops regenerative agricultural solutions by converting organic and invasive biomass into high-performance inputs that rebuild soil health and strengthen climate resilience. Our work includes field trials, farmer training through the Journey to 1000 Acres initiative, and international research collaborations.

This role will focus on guiding our overall content and messaging strategy using a “pillar-to-micro” content model, where long-form content (field updates, talks, research insights) is structured and repurposed into multiple formats across platforms.

Responsibilities may include:

• Identifying strong content opportunities from our work (field trials, research, insights)
• Developing clear messaging and storytelling frameworks
• Helping structure content for multi-platform distribution (LinkedIn, video, blog)
• Guiding how technical results are communicated to broader audiences
• Supporting consistency in brand voice and positioning

This role is ideal for someone interested in climate innovation, storytelling, and helping translate real-world impact into clear, compelling narratives.

Family Friends carefully recruit, train, and match volunteers with families in Central-West London. Our volunteer befrienders offer practical and emotional support based on each family's unique needs and potential. We offer two volunteer opportunities - Big Buddies and Parent Buddies.

Volunteers will aim to help parents to discover their strengths, build confidence, and resolve difficulties. Volunteers meet with their match weekly for a period of up to 12 months.

Activities might include:

• Supporting a parent to take their children on days out.
• Helping to strengthen family relationships.
• Providing a listening ear.
• Helping parents to build confidence in themselves.

Essential Criteria:

• You must be able to commit to the Parent Buddy programme for a minimum of 6 months.
• 18+
• Must have lived in the UK for the last 2 years

Our Gardener Volunteers support our homes by helping to maintain their outdoor spaces through weeding, pruning and planting, so that the people we support can enjoy spending time in a beautiful environment. 

We are currently looking for volunteer gardeners for one of our services, who can support with the following tasks:

• Create planters

• Provide general maintenance of our gardens

• Watering, planting, weeding and pruning

• Maintaining flower beds

• Creating/improving/maintaining our sensory garden spaces

Skills required 

In order to become one of our gardener volunteers you will be:

Hodan  is a small but long-established voluntary organisation in North Kensington, focusing on advice, support and wellbeing for the Somali community and other racially minoritised groups in West London. It is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee.
