Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

Women on the Frontline Ministries (WOFM) is a registered charity supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual exploitation through street-based prostitution, trafficking and other vulnerabilities. We offer outreach, a weekly drop-in, casework and relationship-based support to women who are too often neglected and stigmatised. We are looking for an experienced, motivated volunteer fundraiser to help us grow our income, raise awareness of the women we serve, and make sure this work can continue.

Our work is practical and relational: meeting women where they are, building trust over time, and walking with them towards a more stable future. The role

As our Volunteer Fundraiser, you will help shape and deliver our fundraising strategy and turn it into real income. You will be a key part of securing the resources that sustain and grow our frontline support for women. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both planning and doing — and who wants their skills to count for something that matters.

• Help develop and deliver WOFM’s fundraising strategy and annual income goals.

Events Volunteer - Lancashire (various)

Do you want to raise some money for Shelter, while having fun along the way?

Information about the role

This role involves supporting at a range of events to help raise money and awareness to tackle the housing emergency. It’s a really flexible opportunity. Once you’re signed up, we’ll let you know about upcoming events and tasks, and you can decide which you’d like to do. 

Location: Lancashire (various)

Suggested contribution: It’s up to you! Ideally, you’d help out at least 4-5 times per year, but this is flexible. 

Availability: This is a varied opportunity with events taking place at different times and on different days throughout the year, including evenings and weekends. You can choose the events that best suit your availability.

E-Commerce Volunteer

As an E-commerce volunteer, you’ll help bring our shop online by selecting, preparing and listing items for sale on our digital platform.You’ll play a key role in turning donated goods into vital funds while keeping our online shop running smoothly. 

Location: 37 Stockwell Street, Glasgow, G1 4RZ

Suggested contribution: It’s up to you! We have volunteers who support for one hour a week and others who volunteer more. Many people volunteer for a morning or an afternoon each week, but we’ll have a chat about your availability after you’ve applied. 

Availability: Monday – Saturday 9am - 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm

Clergy Support Trust is the largest and oldest charity helping Anglican clergy and their families.
Founded in 1655 and with assets of over £110m, the charity provides financial grants, services and resources for serving and retired ministers, ordinands, and clergy families.

We are looking to appoint two outstanding new Trustees, to join the Board and the charity at this exciting moment. Specifically, we are eager to hear from candidates with experience of at least one, ideally more, of the following areas:

• Ordained ministry in the Church of England (for example, as a parish priest,
• chaplain, Area Dean, or Archdeacon);
• Communications and digital media (especially within the charity sector);
• Fundraising and supporter engagement;
• Personal experience of the Trust’s grants, services and resources (for example, as
• an applicant, or as a diocesan officer responsible for supporting other ministers);
• Wider knowledge of the Church of England or Anglican Communion.

Increasingly, the Trust also advocates for clergy, as well as acting to support them, which recently contributed to a 10.7% rise in the basic clergy stipend across England. In 2026, we published a new three-year strategy focussed on “going upstream” – understanding better the root causes of challenges facing clergy, supporting those in new ways and offering a broader programme to empower clergy, while focussing our grants on those in the greatest need.

Although the charity’s excellent relationships with the Church of England and other Anglican Provinces are important, the Trust is proudly independent, and offers a confidential service to those seeking its help.

The Board of Trustees – referred to in our Royal Charter as the Court of Assistants - is responsible for setting the charity’s strategy and vision, for overseeing the work of its Chief Executive, and for scrutinising performance. There is an occupational requirement for Trustees to be supportive of the Trust’s Anglican ethos and identity (but not to be practising Anglicans).

The charity’s operations, profile and programme have grown significantly in recent years, and a key element of the Court’s role is to support, challenge and affirm the work of the charity’s executive leadership team. Trustee's main takes and accountabilities include:

They will understand and represent the Nolan Principles of public life, and the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of charity trusteeship. The Court meets four times per year; in-person attendance is expected at those meetings (usually in central London), as well as for an annual twenty-four-hour awayday,  normally in February. Trustee Responsibilities :

• Ensuring that the organisation defines its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets.
• Safeguarding the good name and values of the organisation.
• Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place.
• Ensuring the financial stability of the organisation.
• Protecting and managing the property of the charity and ensuring the proper investment of the charity’s funds.

WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS VOLUNTEER 

Will you use your time and practical skills to help raise funds for the fight against unfit housing and homelessness? 

Will you become part of our Sunderland Warehouse team and make a meaningful difference? 

Whether you’re sorting stock, preparing items for distribution, helping keep the warehouse organised and safe or supporting with online sales, you will play a vital role in supporting our work. You'll be joining a friendly team in a practical, hands-on role where you can share your skills to enable our Shelter shops across the country 

We rely on people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. If that sounds like you, we’d love you to join the team. 

Location: Shelter Warehouse, 244-246 High Street West, Sunderland

E-Commerce Volunteer 

Do you want to make a difference to someone experiencing the housing emergency one listing at a time? 

Information about the role 

As an E-commerce volunteer, you’ll help bring our shop online by selecting, preparing and listing items for sale on our digital platform.You’ll play a key role in turning donated goods into vital funds while keeping our online shop running smoothly. 

Location: 244 – 246 High Street West, Sunderland

Suggested contribution: It’s up to you! We have volunteers who support for one hour a week and others who volunteer more. Many people volunteer for a morning or an afternoon each week, but we’ll have a chat about your availability after you’ve applied. 

Availability: Monday – Saturday 9am - 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm

• Select, prepare and list donated items for sale on our online platform 

• Accurately photograph and describe products 

• Ensure items are well presented and of high quality 

• Manage listings, updating or removing as necessary

This role fights the housing emergency by showcasing great products to the right buyers, turning more of our donations into vital funds.
