Each year, our volunteers design and create bespoke equipment free of charge for more than 3,000 disabled people across the UK. From simple adaptations that restore confidence to complex custom solutions that change daily life, every project starts with listening to the individual.

As we continue to grow our impact, we’re now recruiting new Trustees to join our Board.

We’re particularly interested in people with experience in:
• Finance and strategic oversight 
• Health and clinical practice, especially Occupational Therapy
• Lived experience of being disabled or caring for someone with a disability

Experience in charity or nonprofit finance is particularly valuable, especially in fund stewardship, governance, and financial resilience, but we also welcome applicants from commercial or public-sector backgrounds who bring strong financial leadership skills.

Or do you have a clinical and health background, particularly as an Occupational Therapist, to bring professional insight to our Board? Your experience can help shape safe, effective, person-centred solutions at a national level and strengthen how we work alongside health professionals.

We are keen to hear from disabled people and carers who can bring lived experience to our Board, helping ensure everything we do at REMAP remains grounded in real needs and real lives.

You don’t need previous board experience. We’re looking for people who bring insight, curiosity, and a commitment to strong governance and inclusive services.

This position is open to anyone with a keen interest in Friends of the Earth and our local campaigns in the borough of Camden. We are looking for people interested in environmental and sustainability issues and environmental justice in the Camden community who enjoy assisting in the organisation of events.

Duties:

The events assistants will provide support in our events as part of a team, including tasks like:

• Assisting with the execution of various charity events and campaigns

• Helping with the preparation of events and campaigns

• Attending meetings with the group and events such as FoE marches 

• Setting up event spaces, including decorations and signage

• Addressing any issues that arise during the event and providing immediate solutions

• Collecting event data and feedback from attendees

• Assisting with post-event reporting

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: MEDICAL DOCTORS NEEDED

Global Health Reform Initiative (GHRI) is a humanitarian health organization dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for underserved and vulnerable communities through telemedicine.

We are currently seeking licensed medical doctors to volunteer with our telemedicine program, providing remote medical consultations and professional medical guidance to patients across different regions.

This role is 100% remote and flexible.

Beacon for Rare Diseases hosts The Resources Hub, a 100% free and accessible e-learning platform created to support the rare disease community, including:

• Patient groups, patients and families
• Researchers and life science professionals
• Rare disease advocates

The Resources Hub brings together over 100 free resources, including written courses, video guides, webinars and recordings from events and conferences. These resources are designed to support people at every stage of their rare disease journey, whether they are just getting started or are part of a well-established organisation.

We are incredibly proud of the breadth and quality of what’s available on the Hub. However, much of our long-standing content is under-promoted, meaning that people don’t always find the right resource at the right time.

About the role

We are looking for a social media volunteer to help us shine a light on the wealth of content already available within the Resources Hub.

In this role, you will:

• Spend time exploring our existing Resources Hub content
• Write 1–3 social media posts per resource, tailored for different platforms
• Help us build a reusable library of social media posts that we can draw on to promote resources when they are most relevant

This role is about helping people discover support that already exists, making it easier for patient groups and advocates to find information that could make a real difference to their work.

Who this role would suit

This is a specific, project-based placement and would suit someone who already has experience in communications, social media or content creation.

You’ll be someone who:

• Enjoys writing clear, engaging social media copy
• Understands how to adapt messaging across different platforms
• Is comfortable working independently and managing their own time
• Can take guidance on tone and branding and run with it

While we don’t have capacity to provide training, you won’t be left on your own. We will:

• Provide clear direction on priorities and approach
• Share brand guidance and examples
• Review initial work to make sure everything feels aligned
• Have routine check-ins, provide feedback, and an end-of-placement review

Time commitment and flexibility

​This is a fully remote volunteering role, which we ideally hope can be completed within around three months. We anticipate a minimum commitment of approximately two hours per week, though a shorter, more intensive placement could also be arranged to suit the volunteer. We are open to having more than one volunteer on this project and do not expect a single person to work through the entire Hub.

We are seeking Event Paramedics to respond to and manage emergency calls/incidents whilst attending events. At all times provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care to undertake clinical assessment and interventions those individuals in the pre-hospital environment, which may include stadia, concerts, motorsports, road races etc. This may encompass working on both ambulances / FRV’s and within treatment units as required.

Successful candidates will be registered Paramedics with the HCPC and be able to provide evidence of CPD activity within the previous 12 months.

Volunteer locations: Epsom and Mole Valley Network - Epsom; Rushmoor and South West Surrey Network- Farnborough, Guildford, Working and Cranleigh Network - Guildford; East Surrey Network - Redhill or North West Surrey - Weybridge

Crisis of Faith: 1 in 4 young Muslims are leaving the religion due to various factors, primarily the pervasive anti-religious content and temptations they encounter online and offline.

Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that removes barriers to access and provokes thought and action.

Role Summary

Site managers are responsible for establishing partnerships with University Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) and maintaining positive relationships with these sites.

Key tasks

• Actively establish and maintain positive relationships with the MSA committees and Student Ambassadors to ensure an exceptional onsite experience for students and promote retention of sites 
• Be responsible for overseeing all onsite logistics through liaison with the Student Ambassador to ensure that onsite logistics including advertising of the class and other required tasks are taken care of by the MSA.
• Be the point of contact for MSAs: answer questions from the MSA committees and Student Ambassadors to the best of your ability and engage them on a 1-1 basis, listen to their needs and concerns and addressing these accordingly 
• Collect ideas and best-practices from how different MSAs are delivering their class 
• Participate in onboarding current and new sites prior to the start of the academic year 
• Be the point of contact internally for any queries or updates related to assigned MSAs
• Regularly brainstorm with MSA committees to identify ways Roots can better serve their specific needs, support their goals, and strengthen collaboration.

What we’re looking for

• An understanding of the Muslim university scene and how university MSAs operate. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability and keenness to make and maintain genuine connections with people.
• Meetings / regular contact with MSA committees, at least once per month.
• Willingness to conduct a weekly virtual touch base with the Student Ambassador to ensure MSA/ISoc sites are running smoothly and to offer support as needed.

Event nurses shall provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care and undertake clinical assessment and interventions in the pre-hospital environment, which may include venues such as stadia, concert halls, motorsports tracks, road races etc. This will mainly involve working in treatment units or temporary event medical centres.

Successful candidates will be registered nurses with the NMC and be able to provide evidence of CPD activity within the previous 12 months.
