Lilian Faithfull Care is seeking four new Trustees to bring insight, challenge and strategic leadership to a values-led charity with people at its heart.

For more than 80 years, Lilian Faithfull Care has helped older people live well, with dignity, independence and a sense of belonging. Today, we support residents and day guests across our care homes, day services and specialist dementia services, supported by a dedicated team of colleagues and volunteers.

We are looking for four new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the charity through the next stage of its development. This is an opportunity to contribute to strategic decisions, support and challenge the Executive Team, strengthen governance and help ensure the charity remains sustainable, responsive and focused on the people we support.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in areas such as HR, digital transformation, marketing, fundraising, commercial leadership, charity governance, adult social care, legal matters or board-level strategy. Previous Trustee experience is welcome but not essential; what matters most is sound judgement, strategic thinking and a genuine commitment to improving later-life care.

Trustees usually give around 18 days per year, including Board meetings, committee work, strategy sessions, preparation and occasional visits to our services. Some activity can take place remotely, but Trustees should be able to attend meetings in Gloucestershire when required.

Kingston Women’s Centre provides affordable counselling and mental health support for women in our local community. Key Responsibilities

·Research and identify funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, institutional donors, corporate partners and philanthropic organisations.

About You

·You may come from a charity fundraising, business development, partnerships, sales, account management, corporate relationship management or marketing background.

Mind in Salford is an independent, user-focused charity committed to ensuring local people experiencing mental health problems receive the support and respect they deserve. 

The charity provides a range of services including advocacy, welfare rights and debt advice, mindfulness, mental health training and specialist support for the LGBTQ+ community through its Rainbow Mind programme. 

With an experienced Senior Leadership Team and a Board that is going through a period of transition, this is an opportunity for a new Chair to strengthen Board effectiveness, support the development of new Trustees and help shape the charity’s next chapter. 

About the Role 

The Chair will provide strategic leadership to the Board, ensuring effective governance, sound decision-making and a clear focus on Mind in Salford’s charitable purpose. 

In this role, you will lead and develop an effective, inclusive and high-performing Board, Chair meetings, build a strong, constructive relationship with the Chief Executive and represent the Charity and help develop relationships with key partners and supporters. 

About You 

They are looking for someone with senior strategic leadership experience and a strong understanding of charity governance, who can lots of emotional intelligence and sound judgement to the role. 

You will bring: 

• Experience of working with a charity Board or in a senior non-executive role. 

• A strong understanding of the duties and responsibilities of charity Trustees. 

• The ability to chair meetings effectively, build consensus and manage challenging conversations. 

• Experience of providing strategic oversight of finance, risk and organisational performance. 

• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills. 

• A genuine commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. 

Knowledge of health and social care, or a related sector, would be valuable. A connection to Salford and its communities is also important. 

Commitment 

The Board meets every two months, alongside a Finance sub-committee which meets four times a year. Trustees are expected to prepare for meetings, review papers in advance and contribute actively to Board discussions. As Chair you will be expected to meet regularly with the CEO and provide support outside of the formal meeting structure. 

This is a voluntary position, although reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. The initial term is three years, with a maximum of three terms.

Volunteer role: Fundraising Lead Volunteer

Commitment level: Flexible 2-4 hours a week

Location: Office based Stamford & attending events

Purpose of the Voluntary role:

Evergreen purpose is to promote healthy ageing and positive attitudes towards older people; seeking relevant ways to honour old age and if needed, to serve through Advocacy, Friendship and practical support and our vision is for Stamford, the Deepings, Bourne and the surrounding villages to be seen as a great place to grow old. Our work is supported and funded by our ‘Friends of Evergreen’ – local individuals and businesses whose support enables us to deliver our volunteer led services which so many rely on locally. The Friends of Evergreen Lead Volunteer is a key role that supports, promotes and grows our Friends of Evergreen.

The Fundraiser is a part-time volunteer role, based in Stamford, responsible for generating income to support Evergreen Care Trust’s services for older adults. Day-to-day tasks include cultivating relationships with donors and supporters, and identifying new fundraising opportunities with local businesses and community groups. The role involves preparing grant applications and funding proposals, maintaining accurate donor records, and monitoring income against targets. The individual will also analyse fundraising performance, report on outcomes, and contribute ideas to improve future initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Ability to effectively convey the charity's mission and engage with donors, both verbally and in writing.

Creating and maintaining relationships with supporters, sponsors, and partners.

Ability to connect with donors and understand their motivations for giving.

Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and departments within the charity.

Understanding of the relevant aspects of the Fundraising Code and data protection regulations

Key relationships:

 Working effectively with other volunteers, trustees, other staff including the Marketing & Events Lead and Volunteer Services Manager and Friends of Evergreen admin support.

Developing strong relationships with current and new Friends of Evergreen

Skills, Qualifications and experience required:

Excellent Communication skills

Able to build relationships with current and new Friends of Evergreen

Able to represent Evergreen at events and meeting new supporters

Charity fundraising experience would be a bonus as would experience in a relevant role such as business development, sales, or events.

Familiarity with fundraising methods would also be a bonus, such as grant writing, corporate partnerships, and individual giving.

Training and support required:

Evergreen Induction Training (half day Saturday)
Mandatory Online Safeguarding training
Introduction training sessions to Friends of Evergreen role
Invitation to attend relevant training courses as and when they are arranged
On going support from Volunteer Services Manager

Availability of parking at work location:

There is parking at Evergreen’s office

A Basic DBS is required for this role.

Equal Aqua is an award-winning NGO working to tackle inequalities in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) across Uganda. • On-the-Ground Safety Management: Support with the safety, navigation, and physical well-being of participants during UK day challenges and overseas trips alongside our in country adventure providers.
• Dynamic Risk Assessment: Monitor weather, terrain, and group fitness in real-time, making decisive adjustments to the itinerary to mitigate risk.
• Participant Support & Motivation: Provide high-quality stewardship, coaching, and psychological encouragement to help charity fundraisers safely achieve their physical goals.
• Emergency Response: Administer first aid if needed and coordinate with local emergency services in the event of an incident.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• UK Mountain Training Qualifications: Minimum of Mountain Leader (Summer) award for UK hill walking challenges. Higher awards (e.g., Winter ML, Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor) are highly valued.
• Medical Certification: Valid, up-to-date First Aid certificate
• Experience: Proven track record of leading groups with experience managing varying fitness levels.
• Insurance: Up-to-date professional indemnity and public liability insurance (though you will also be covered under the organisation’s policy)

Help a growing education charity build the funding it needs to develop its programmes and reach more children and young people.

Coempowered is a small education charity creating spaces for philosophical inquiry, critical thinking and meaningful dialogue. We work mainly with children, young people and young adults, including Persian-speaking communities from Afghanistan and Iran, with Kurdish-language provision also developing.

We are at an important stage of our development and are looking for volunteers to help us strengthen our fundraising. This is a varied role that can be shaped around your experience, interests and strengths.

You might contribute to:

• researching trusts, foundations, grant programmes and other potential funding opportunities
• identifying opportunities that fit our programmes, beneficiaries and stage of development
• maintaining a funding pipeline and application calendar
• researching funders and understanding their priorities and requirements
• preparing and writing grant applications and expressions of interest
• adapting applications to different funders and criteria
• developing our case for support and other core fundraising materials
• gathering programme, impact, budget and organisational information needed for applications
• helping develop programme and project funding proposals
• keeping accurate records of applications, deadlines, outcomes and follow-ups

• contributing to fundraising planning and reviewing what is working
• helping us develop a practical longer-term fundraising strategy.

Different levels of experience are welcome

You do not need to be experienced in every aspect of fundraising.

If you have substantial fundraising experience, there is scope to take greater responsibility for developing our fundraising strategy, identifying priorities, improving our approach and supporting other fundraising volunteers.

If you are earlier in your fundraising career, or have strong transferable skills in research, writing, communications, project development or similar work, we can agree a more focused area of responsibility and support you to develop your experience.

We would rather build a good team around complementary strengths than expect one volunteer to do everything.

For roles involving substantial responsibility for fundraising strategy or major applications, relevant fundraising experience will be important.

Fundraising is central to Coempowered’s next stage of development.

We have developed our educational work largely through volunteer effort. Building a stronger and more sustainable funding base will allow us to improve our programmes, support and train facilitators, strengthen our organisational capacity and reach more participants without compromising the quality of our educational work.

Your contribution could help us identify opportunities we would otherwise miss, submit stronger applications and build the systems and evidence needed to develop longer-term relationships with funders and supporters.

For an experienced fundraiser, there is also an opportunity to have a significant influence on how a developing charity approaches fundraising from the beginning.

Practical details

The role is fully remote and can be carried out from anywhere with reliable internet access.

Working hours are flexible and can be agreed according to your availability and area of responsibility. We ask volunteers to maintain regular communication, attend agreed online meetings where relevant and give reasonable notice if their availability changes.

We are particularly interested in volunteers who can contribute consistently over time, although we may also consider applicants with specialist fundraising expertise who can support a defined project or piece of work.

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!

It is a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

o face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.

o online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.

o bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.

o engaging with your local branch and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team.

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser.  You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.

Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Roll Models CIC is a community for women and marginalised genders, built around the belief that getting outside, riding bikes and doing adventurous things together can change how we see ourselves and what we think we’re capable of.

We create welcoming pathways into cycling and outdoor adventure through mentorship, skills-sharing, and community events. Our aim is to reduce barriers to participation and help more women, trans and non-binary people build confidence, skills, independence and lasting connections through cycling and time outdoors.

In just two years, Roll Models has grown from a pilot mentorship programme of 25 participants in 2025, to a mentorship cohort twice the size with a wider community of over 100 people attending events and workshops in 2026, with demand exceeding our current capacity. We are now at an exciting point in our development: the model is working, the community is growing, and we want to build the organisational foundations to support that growth sustainably.

We are looking to convene a voluntary Steering Group to help shape the strategic direction of our fledgling organisation, with a view to formalising a Board in Spring 2027 (there will also be opportunity to continue in a supporting role, without joining the Board).

Strategy and Governance - Filled

Roll Models has grown significantly in a short space of time, led by one paid member of staff with volunteer support. With demand for the programme limited by our current capacity, we are looking for someone to work alongside the Director as a mentor and sounding board, to focus on shaping the long-term strategic direction of the organisation.

Fundraising

There are many opportunities to grow the programme, and various funding pots we would like to apply for to activate this. We are looking for a savvy fundraiser to help us with fundraising strategy, identifying relevant opportunities, and supporting application processes.

You would support:

• Developing a fundraising strategy

• Identifying relevant funding opportunities

• Feeding into and checking over applications 

• Working with other members (ie Communications & Marketing) to shape how we tell the story for funders

Mentorship programme (2 roles)

We are looking for an experienced community leader and cyclist who is passionate about creating safe and welcoming spaces for women, trans and non-binary people in the outdoors. You will support the strategic development and running of Roll Models' core mentorship programme, working closely with the Director on the systems and structures that will allow it to grow sustainably. This is a vital role that bridges community-building, participant experience, logistics and operations.

You would support:

• Developing policies and procedures to support the running of the mentorship programme

• Planning and delivering recruitment for the 2027 cohort, including reviewing and improving the participant application and matching process

• Supporting safeguarding, inclusion and participant wellbeing processes

• Shaping the strategic direction and future development of the mentorship programme, including thinking about how the programme can support more people without losing its community-led character

Workshops and programming

Roll Models runs regular programming and skills sessions relating to cycling and outdoor adventure, including bike mechanics, navigation, kit choices, trip planning and other practical skills. We are looking for someone who can help us think strategically about how this strand of Roll Models' work develops, in particular, accessing funding to open the workshops up beyond the current cohort. This role would help Roll Models move from delivering individual workshops towards a coherent, sustainable skills programme.

You would support:

• Developing a strategic programme of skills workshops for the next 6-12 months

• Identifying skills gaps and opportunities within the community

• Supporting funding bids to resource the workshop programme

• Developing outreach and partnerships to reach people who may not already participate in cycling or outdoor recreation

• Supporting the development of inclusive and accessible workshop formats

• Helping shape DEI policies and approaches for events and workshops

• Exploring opportunities to develop workshops that could generate income while retaining accessible routes into participation

Communications & Marketing

Roll Models has grown organically and is increasingly attracting attention from the cycling and outdoor industries. We now want to be more strategic about how we communicate what we do and use our growing profile to create opportunities for the organisation and its community. We are looking for someone with experience in communications, marketing, storytelling or partnerships who can help us think bigger about Roll Models' position and reach.

You would support:

• Developing Roll Models' strategic positioning and profile by shaping a communications and storytelling strategy

• Developing content and storytelling approaches for funders and potential partners

• Developing relationships with industry and community partners

• Helping Roll Models communicate its impact beyond being "just" a cycling club

• Identifying opportunities for media, speaking, events, festivals and other platforms that can raise the profile of Roll Models and the wider issues we work on

This is an opportunity to help shape how Roll Models is understood and positioned as it grows.

Finance and sustainability

Roll Models has begun generating income through its mentorship programme and events, alongside grant funding and industry support. As we grow, we want to develop a stronger understanding of our finances and build a model that can sustain the organisation beyond short-term grant funding. We are looking for someone with experience in financial planning, budgeting, business development, social enterprise or organisational sustainability.

You would support:

• Financial planning and strategy

• Developing realistic budgets and financial forecasts

• Thinking strategically about income generation and pricing, and subsidising low-cost participation

• Helping develop appropriate financial policies and processes

• Working with the Director to understand when and how Roll Models can invest in capacity and paid roles
